Xiang Lang is her kindergarden friend but in the novel, he didn't had any romantic feelings towards her. I don't know about drama.

Title The First Frost Spoiler
Asking questions for novel readers. Is this story one-sided, with the male lead (ML) bearing all the pain and…
No. The love was always two sided though he fell first. She had too much going on in her life that she had no option than to cut him off and after meeting him again, she is the one who chases him. People feel so because ML is very vocal with his actions while she is not. She has abandonment issues but she really really loves him.

He is a through and through green flag. He just has a sarcastic humor and is prideful(only to show her).

Looking forward to start this but I wonder why the actor playing Sang Yan in HL didn’t play the ml character…
Both the POV's are different and above all, the novel was a hit so they needed actors with experience and traffic.

Title The First Frost Spoiler
does sang yan know what happened to yifan in the past and why she left him?
No. He just thinks she didn't reciprocated his feelings and as he followed her around a lot, so he was a bothersome for her. In simple words, he respected the fact that she feels nothing about him.

Watched all the released episodes and honestly, it was worth the wait. The melodramatic vibes, the trauma, the acting by both the leads and scenes added which are not included in the novel, everything was really really good. Sang Yan is really going to be the epitome of selfless love, like honestly even after everything his love for her had grew only. Wen Yifan seems to suffer here more compare to novel which was quite heartbreaking. The harassment, the loneliness, bottled up emotions, sadness, everything was so well portrayed. ZRN really slayed it with melancholic eyes in adulthood and that softness in the teenage. BJT is so good. Like the sarcastic dialogue delivery, the expressions when she is not looking, like he is just yearning for her and the charm he had. The side couples seem funny and chaotic which is needed to balance. Though they could have somewhat toned down the harassment, like woman gone through it four times here and that slap by the wife of another harasser. Though it literally showed how woman are always blamed for such things, no matter who is at fault. Overall, it was really really worth all the wait.

Oh. Actually I meant that the way even while smiling, you could see the gloominess in her eyes in the present. Actually my bad I took it in the wrong way.

What is there to laugh about? She did a great job, especially when the first episode was settled around her only.

Only watched the first episode and realized no one could have played Wen Yifan better than Zhang Ruonan. Woman has gloomy eyes even while smiling.

THIS. I always have in mind that inner monologue of hers where she goes "even though she was treated unfairly,…
Yes. Throughout the novel she didn't exactly cried but the two times she cried was not because she was pitying herself but she hated that because of her, Sang Yan had to go through so much and he was ready to be a second option just for her when the thing Sang Yan values most is his pride.

Just by watching the trailer you realize that she does an impressive job as Wen Yifan, it's really well done
In the movies, the kisses were fine and honestly, I know kissing scenes are important but I am always more focused on acting and modern cdramas mostly disappoints with acting and pace that always makes me skeptical about modern cdramas.

This drama is much anticipated , I jus hope that ZRN plays such a vulnerable and delicate character , I have not…
She is really great while portraying vulnerable characters with sad past. Her movies are really great though I haven't watched her dramas.

Hope Yifan's character is handled with care and they don't downplay her struggles due to censorship. She is literally so strong in the novel. Like woman had gone though hell and was still so strong throughout. Never pitied herself and just worked on her own self.
