That is what the directors told but I doubt we'll highly likely get a happy ending for both. Maybe Xiao Feng will get to live. Cuz the author herself once had told in an interview she had an alternate ending where Xiao Feng lives after Li Cheng Yin finally let's her go completely and grants her freedom. In her head they never get together but they stay alive. Don't know if they'll give that as an alternate ending though :/
Didn't think it'll hurt me this much but it did. Hands down personally one of the most saddest dramas I've watched. Maybe it was due to the fact I was emotionally involved to all the characters in the drama but this is my #1 saddest drama ever.
Yes LCY was a complete jerk 85% of the story but he loved XF. He just couldn't prioritize her over his revenge and XF took the last step which was to help her country and to stop LCY. At least he kept his promise to her and lived on. Even while I'm writing this I can feel my heart constricting :'(

I honestly don't know. I want a tragedy for LCY but my heart aches for XF. They both could have lived happy lives but they chose to always take decisions in rather a selfish manner which have made them arrive at this sad situation. In my opinion even XF is taking a selfish route in a small manner. Yes she has been hurt but then again in a way I wish she was stronger and she took revenge in a stronger way (Not asking to kill him more like she lived away from him happily, then again she wasn't brought up that way either) but these are all my delusional thoughts XD cuz I low-key want BOTH OF THEM to get away from the palace and live happily.
Being a huuuuuge fan of this series I am so happy seeing this article. honestly I was sad that more people didn't appreciate this cuz personally I feel this is much better than other drama consecutively siring such as The Legends (Don't get me wrong I like it too and am watching it too but personally I like this better in terms of plot, acting and production value)
One thing I like to point out is you have told that after losing their memories Li Cheng Yin has a woman he loves already. I do not know if you've mentioned it not to give out spoilers or anything but as I understood he never loved Zhao Sese and only used him. All through his life LCY only loved Xiao Feng. It is also mentioned by the Buddhist monk they meet at the temple when they go undercover that their lives are romantically linked for three lives. Also it's mentioned (subtly) at the end of the novel also that he only loved XF his whole life, after all the tragedies happened also he waits for her.
Also another thing I would like to add, a small suggestion actually. You could have mentioned the song that XF sings to LCY during their date during the Chinese Valentine's Day kinda festival when they go rowing. Also a sadder version is sung during the time after their wedding where XF waits outside while LCY gets drunk and goes to ZSS. It is crucial to the story and also very beautiful. Then again it would give spoilers too.
All in all I want to say is you've done an AMAZING job here. I simply loved reading your article. This is without doubt one of my favorite articles I've read on MDL. Totally loved it. Loved how you've shown the key points and also love how you've got the strengths and weaknesses both and given an objective article. Loved, love it <3 Now sadly waiting for the last 4 episodes to be aired. i can not believe it'll be over by next week. I do not know what I will have to look forward for anymore. Since February 14 all my attention everyday have gone to this drama. Even at work during breaks I check up on Instagram and social media for updates from this all the time XD Chen Xing Xu and Peng Xiao Ran did an amazing job there and I'm sooo happy they had budget limitations and casted these two instead of some high profile actors XD Though this entirely delusional, low key shipping those two in real life (Even though they act more like a pair squabbling siblings all the time in real life than lovers but who can blame me XD )

Agreed. I loved Because of Meeting You. You could see the main couple's sizzling romance and their acting was on point. Every single person. Even the little kid. I'm still trying to get around the FL's bad acting in this one and I feel like this role is not suiting Zhang Min En either. I loved him in all his previous works even though he was a supporting character in many and his acting in Tientsin Mystic was beyond great. Here I feel like they've wasted a good actor on a really really cliche plot. I don't know about Destiny's Love either cuz it seems cliche too which is too bad cuz his previous work were all of interesting and engaging scripts.
Still I'm planning on giving this drama at least 10 episodes before dropping. Only watched 2 so far and really cringed through both of them. From CGI to acting it's bad :/

Well I am too hooked on Goodbye My Princess to stop it but maybe wait till it finishes to go on XD It's still one of my favs. I've actually heard so much about Story of Yanxi Palace but never got around to watch it. Is it good? For me the ML seemed too old which was one of the biggest reasons I didn't start it. Also this sure captures your attention but as far as all the Chinese dramas, just ignore the really really bad CGI XD
