I LOVED the subtle way everything changes! I'd only notice now and then, feeling nostalgic every time! What are…
I am all over the place trying to find something else to grip me the same way The Bond did (surprised myself that I actually missed it LOL). But watching Reply 1994, Hometown Cha Cha Cha (meh) and one that I actually look forward to but it is painful waiting for the episodes to load ("Forever and Ever"). It is cute and totally watchable and the leads are beautiful to look at. Just wish I could binge watch it all at once since Netflix has me so spoiled. Tried watching Dear Parents but gave up. Have you ever watched Heard it Through the Grapevine? I think that may be up your alley because it is a conversation piece drama.
Can you please recommend similar dramas to this and Like A Flowing River?P.S. Haven't read comments below to avoid…
I really enjoyed Heard it Through The Grapevine (Korean) which was just recommended to me recently. It is a dark comedy but like this one very well acted out but with a lot less drama.
Truly deserving of the title "The Bond" as it ended the very same way it began with the 5 siblings together (and some additions to their family) without the help of their miscreant of a father. I am absolutely gratified that the writers did not absolve him of any of his moral crimes against his children and in the end he reaped what he sowed. Yi Cheng for his part in carrying his family's burdens his entire life finally had his back bend from the pressure. I thought it was interesting that at the end of the day, Yi Cheng by telling his father that he was ill before anyone else seemed to want an acknowledgment from him that as a son he mattered sort of still holding out hope that his father would at the very least give him that. Puzzled me though how no one noticed that Yi Cheng was sick considering he was on dialysis which comes with visible side effects. I mean we saw the changes in him LOL. This drama was such a roller coaster of emotions for me with every actor playing their parts to perfection. The villains were just that...stellar since I hated those women to no end. Do you all remember that threadbare almost ramshackle house of the Qiao's when we first met them way back in 1977? To see what it became since then... a combination of the traditional yet modern aesthetic. Saddened me though that it would be torn down but oh well that is progress I guess.
If you put yourself in Xiao Mo's shoes, she initially wanted to cut ties with her former lover because he doesn't…
And see for me I hate women like her. The scheming, manipulating type who are always one step ahead in the game. Did you all forget that she only consummated the marriage with Erqiang because she was "tired of not having a name or rank" the same night that the Director threw cold water on them as a permanent couple telling her mother that she didn't want her child to be a "bastard child like she was." This was her second pregnancy for the Director and he was supposed to marry her after his wife died but would not...and she would have gladly passed it off as Erqiang's if he hadn't called her bluff when she asked for the divorce. I don't believe for one minute that he wouldn't have stayed married to her living a life of misery regardless of how both her and her mother treated him had he not reconciled with the Master because it was quite obvious to me that she was not in love with him. I think her meltdown at the skating rink was because she was rejected again after building her hopes up for a "family" and someone needed to bear the brunt of it and it sure as hell wasn't going to be the man who she was having the affair with and signed her paycheck. Yi Cheng was supposed to put up with her ever up and down mood swings and her mother's tirades at him but he found an alternative. So yeah, in the end being a divorcee with a child was still a lot better than being an unmarried woman with a child. What I don't understand though is if she was so righteous, what made her come clean to them since she already knew that the Master was willing to divorce him unless she heard that the Master was back. Head scratching moment. So of the two, not sure which character I despise more. Her or Lin Qzi. But on a lighter note, her son for all the viciousness of his mother and grandmother, seemed like a sweet child.
What do you guys think about the father's new girlfriend/wife (are they married yet?) and the wife's son?
So clearly she has an agenda and yes they are already married at least 6 months so far since according to Yi Cheng her son has been living there that long. They seem to be one of a kind so if she squeezes him dry with the little he has I am fine with it.....but you know what if this drama ends with their father getting a hail mary pass as if all the wrongs he did didnt warrant some sort of Karma, I will scream bloody murder.
I know the poor dear had no clue his ex was cheating, but Erqiang better slow his roll and get a paternity test…
He told her he believed her that the kid was his and didn't need for her to do the paternity test. So had she not had a come to Jesus moment and confessed that she had been having an affair all along, he would have been the Daddy. I swear I don't know how I still have a face left from all the face palming I do with this family. 😖
So apparently, he was fired because of his inappropriate behavior involving a woman. Not sure what the exact details…
TBH I missed it too the first time I watched the Ep. I just thought that Yi Cheng being Yi Cheng was angry because he found out he had not retired but had been discharged. Big difference. So all along since then I was defending their relationship not knowing that I had missed a key part of the scene. Needless to say that just put a whole new spin on him (Cheng Gang) for me.
But for me the girl is rapist. And nobody said a word. She did the same thing a cunning boy would do to a girl.…
Completely agree (not about the kid being his) and that is why cooler heads should have prevailed and not have been so quick to vilify him. Had Jia Min been involved from the start I don't think she would have gotten away that easily but Yi Cheng was eager to handle it and mitigate any further embarrassment to his family. I cannot remember at this point what else was going on during that period.
