would a teacher say to a student "what a beautiful face you have?" (not the actual quote but it was something…
Yes, teachers would, and a large part of Hijiris charm as sensei is her honesty.
The excellent subbing team of Aoihachi are not native speakers of English or Japanese, so I think the phrasing carries connotations that might not have been originally intended.
i kinda feel understand aiko san action. his child is barely an adult and at that age sometimes we just really…
Well, in the end Akira and Hijiri proved the strength and validity of their connection. I feel a lot of what drove the mother was past history- between her and her husband.
Can anybody explain to me the ending of ep11? What it means when akira give the written oath to hijiri?
It means that his mother has finally accepted him as an adult, and she does not need to 'protect' him anymore from Hijiri.
It seemed apparent to me in that final meeting with the attorney that Aiko recognized Hijiri's love for Akira. She was more concerned about Akira having choices as he grew. Giving the oath to him meant she recognizes the validity and strength of his feelings for Hijiri.
I am very satisfied with the ending- the joy on their faces was indescribable.
I found episode 11 so painful to go through- it was far, far worse with the subs. I thought there was a finite period for Hijiri's oath, I didn't realize they were letting each other go at the ferris wheel. I really don't understand Akiras mother at all, and I feel Akira and Hijiri survived as a couple in spite of her machinations.
Also I can't fault Hijiri's behavior throughout the drama.
sounds ridiculous of an excuse for Hijiri to 'escort' Akira to his father's place. Akira is grown up lol
She followed him because she was worried about the potential for suicide, based on his last comment. By the time he explained what he meant,....the ship had sailed!! Still, as sensei, she feels a strong sense of responsibility so it makes complete sense for me that she continue to escort him to other parent.
Not for me. It helped to show Hijiri as an extraordinary teacher for students in need (just as she was in earlier years for Akira). I also think it helps us to reflect back as viewers, and to re-think our judgements....Hijiri treated Tachibana as she did Akira, yet I don't see comments questioning whether her behavior was or was not appropriate!
Great catch! They do bear an uncanny resemblance and I agree they share a personal magnetism in acting. Kenshi…
I've spent the entire drama being fascinated by his hawk nose! He is a master communicator, voice, expression, etc.
For me, humor is never a bad habit, but it can be a tougher sell on sites that have a large multinational/cultural base like MDL,......... I know Asian jokes pass right by me!
