There might be some back story, but it likely won't be a lot. I would recommend watching season 1 (uncut if you can). We'll probably get back story in GerNao's story, but it won't include the four other couples hardly at all because their story goes back 6 or 7 years.

So far for this season, the uncut and cut version are pretty close. It's just been a couple extra scenes here and there. Though, it is frustrating to have some of the uncut scenes used for previews or recaps in the cut version, which has now happened twice. I do prefer the uncut version, because I read and love the novels and I love seeing the extra bits complimenting the novel. For the first season, however, the uncut version makes a massive difference. Especially for HillTer. Their story makes substantially more sense in the uncut version.

I feel like I've seen several comments about how Thee loves Peach more and how their kissing or romantic scenes are Peach being so passive or they don't feel like Peach is actually in love with Thee. I just want to point out that not everybody is a touchy feely kind of person. Just because Peach is reserved doesn't mean he loves less. Think about his background - being physically abused as a child, then growing up in an orphanage, never being adopted, starting work early so he can take care of his sister, and working so damn hard to be independent? I totally get why he's not someone used to or accustomed to physical touch. And that's OK. As long as the partner of the non-touchy person still feels loved, who is anyone else to judge who loves "more?" And yes, he hugs Aran and Plub, but he's known them longer and has a different kind of relationship. And that's OK. He's also someone who highly values the truth, so he would not be one to say he loved Thee and not mean it. And. That's. OK.

It's not in the version I watched on YouTube either. I assume it's in the uncut version, which I have not been able to watch yet. I always watch the legit version first, then I bootleg the uncut version 😅 The uncut is better, hands down, for both seasons. It makes the story make more sense.

I don't speak Thai, but my understanding is that, yes, because he is the older of her two sons, she calls him P'Kian. I read a comment somewhere (maybe on this site, not sure) that it's common for some families to do that. I imagine it may be related to teaching the younger sibling to speak and always referring to the older as P' and then it just continuing, but, again, I don't speak Thai, so I can't say that for sure. I've heard it in other shows, too. I assume it's just familial preference.

Shy Phoon being so aggressive is so adorable. I love that they kept that aspect of his character from the novel 🥰 And Ter and North's relationship feels better this season - not that it was bad last season, but the bickering like siblings is so accurate to the novels as well, it all just makes me really happy.

Though, aging Fai up to be like 3 or 4 years old doesn't make much sense to me. In the novel she was barely a year old, because Fun passed about 2 years before Phoon started at uni. I'm assuming just for the sake of having to work with a child, but still a bit odd for the timing. Fah left Phuket 4 years ago...

Yo, it's really a thing, too! I currently live in South Korea, and a large amount of the masses do *not* wash their hands after going to the bathroom. The school where I work doesn't even have any sort of towels/paper in the boys bathroom. Most people maybe rinse their hands, but no soap. It's been the absolute worst part of culture shock for me lol.

I had a hard time understanding GerNao's time line even reading the novel! I have no idea how they're going to handle it in the show 😬

As long as they follow the books, it is a happy ending for all 5 couples 💜 Phoon has the saddest story of them all for sure, but FahPhoon are my absolute favorite of the 5. I would absolutely commit murder for Phoon lol. But so would Fah, so I don't have to 😉

I think the reason it's a recurring pattern is because it's the stereotype, unfortunately. Though, the spitefulness is hopefully less, the hardness is pretty true. I currently live in South Korea, and it definitely is accurate to say parents are very strict. Though, there's a whole history and basis in Confucianism that makes it make sense here, it's still tough to see sometimes.

From the novel, it's basically after having become friends with Ter, North, and Dao he gains a lot of confidence in himself. So, yes, he still loves Fah and wants to abide his awful father's wishes (because he believes if his father abandons him, he will be completely alone, plus his father is a master guilt trip manipulator), but because he has his friends he decides it would be OK to take care of Fah anonymously. He, of course, wants more, but thinks (for now) this way is better. It ends up being Fah that pushes to meet in person and then wanting more than just the letters.

Phoon is an illegitimate child, a product of his father having an affair. So he's not biological in the sense that he's not the child of the married couple. Because he's illegitimate, Ritt (Phoon's father) wants to protect his reputation and avoid scandal, so he wants Phoon to stay away from Fah because Fah's parents are important/influential. Ritt is literally the worst and I can't wait for his comeuppance. We will learn about his mom later (hopefully 🤞). Auntie and uncle are commonly used for people who are close to you but not actually family. I'm Aunt to my best friends daughter, but not biologically. But it's more common in Asian cultures than Western ones, I think.

Mohr means doctor in Thai, so when they say P'Mohr, they're usually referring to the whole group of medical students (Hill, Johan, Tonfah, and Arthit).

As has already been shown, we know Phoon is an illegitimate child from his father's affair. Ren is the name his biological mother gave him, but Ritt (Phoon's father) changed it to sound more like Torfun to pass him off as a legitimate child to avoid scandal and protect his reputation. In the novel, Fah helps Phoon find his mother, which looks like might happen in the show as well. Ren means lotus in Japanese, and Phoon's mother is Japanese/Thai. When they find her, they learn her name means lily in Japanese, which is why she chose Ren for him. It's a really sweet part of the story, so I hope they include it.

Mhor mean doctor in Thai. So they're referring to all four of the doctors, Hill, Johan, Tonfah, and Arthit, when they say that.

Maew is cat. They call Phoon "cat" a lot in the novel, so I'm glad they pulled it into the show as well.

Lmao my Art Major brain said the same thing! The brown isn't bad, but that green was vile. We've seen his bedroom before, I don't know how I didn't notice. If it was a deeper green, or a blue green it probably would have been OK, but those yellow undertones? Barforama.

I can see where it would be confusing to some, but to me it just shows that Peach is not a touchy-feely kind of person. Maybe I understand it because I'm the same lol. I like that Peach does not want their relationship to affect each others' responsibilities. It's OK to have and be in a loving relationship and not be glued to each other all the time. Peach had to learn very early how to be independent because of his upbringing and taking care of his sister, that independence is wildly important to him. Fiercely independent and not touchy-feely does not equal not in love. It's just a different kind of love.

I haven't read the novel, but I would guess that if they add Mok being shot it would be the catalyst for Rome to drop everything and come help Thee get revenge. So I can see it happening. As much as I don't want it to happen lol.

Considering RomeMok apparently have their own book, I doubt that will happen 🤞 But I can see Mok being injured and Rome immediately flying in to assist Thee with vengeance.

In part because his father is the only family he has left, in part because he feels guilty about Fun, and in part because his father pays for his school and such. In the book, most of the dealings with his father and about money are from Phoon's "uncle" who is a friend of his father's, and I think works for him, but I may be misremembering. He ends up being a middleman between Phoon and his father. After Fun died, Phoon's father largely ignores him, except to exact manipulative guilt trips to keep him in line - such as the not seeing Fah anymore. Plus, his father pulls the card of playing on Phoon's fears of being abandoned - all in an effort to maintain his own standing and reputation. Ritt doesn't care about Phoon except to maintain an illusion of reputation. Phoon cares about his father because he's the only family he has left and thinks he would truly be alone and abandoned without him. That was longer than I intended, sorry lol.
