I agree with you in some instances but to me, although she’s righteous and altruistic, she worries a lot about the people close to her. If she could, she’d leave everything behind with Xie Zheng and Ning because what matters for her the most it’s their safety. She’ll basically fight in his behalf because she’s afraid of him dying in the battlefield. So I think that at that moment, she wasn’t thinking about the consequences that her actions could bring. She only thought about making Yuan Qing pay in a certain way and obtain food that would be good for Xie Zheng’s recovery later. It would benefit the army as well.

Ok, Chang Yu’s actions in today’s episode was reckless. I understand her reasons tho but she got lucky that things didn’t went bad. Thankfully the writer didn’t ignored that she broke military rules just because she’s the female lead and she (actually Xie Zheng) will be punished for it. Xie Zheng is putting everyone on stress mode with this hiding thing omg that poor guard pretending to be him was #stressed. But I must say….I know she's the Marquis's wife, and maybe that's why the guards are more hesitant to be harsh with her, but letting her talk with Yuan Qing without asking the Marquis first and when she was clearly angry? She also managed to carry a small knife. It was a little bit forced. I saw some people saying it didn't make sense for the guards to let her leave with him, but in this case, she had a knife, so she must have threatened to kill him. For me, the real mistake was letting her talk with him. In general everything would probably be avoided if she knew the truth about Xie Zheng. Although, as Chang Yu is a very righteous and altruistic character, I can picture her doing this whole thing anyway to give food to people in the army.
I’m glad she’ll already find out the truth about Xie Zheng’s identity tho because as much as I love all the main leads scenes, this whole lying thing is prolonging too much. I wasn’t minding much before because “hiding something from the lead” is a very common trope but for 25 episodes? ENOUGHHH 😂 She’ll forgive him pretty fast too but I’ll turn a blind eye because I don’t want them to be apart any longer.
WOW, what a ride! I think it was definitely one of the best dramas of 2025. The story, the characters…so engaging. I cried so much 😭 I love a good drama with a time travel theme. I’m amazed by the main leads acting here and Yiran is really surprising me nowadays. His acting was so good here and I finished Generation to Generation, his recent work, and he was good there too. Ying Lu was…phenomenal. This drama definitely deserves your time, give a watch!
PS: Anyone knows if the writer of this drama got inspired by “Better Days”? Because wow the main leads here reminded me so much of Better Days. The characters have such tragic life’s and the male lead basically sacrifice himself to give the female lead a better life.

I don’t know about you guys but when she went to the tent I was almost holding my fucking breath like it was THAT serious for me. I’m really glad our couple finally reunited <3 and both of them looking so happy to see each other 🥺 Chang Yu asking him to go home with her and he looking at her so softly, so in love AAAAAAAA, I love them. I liked that he understood that he was wrong in their break up scene and said he was sorry.
I’m liking the princess and Gongsun, he’s so funny too! And he’s a real friend telling Xie Zheng to tell the truth about his identity. Too bad that he’ll prolong for too much and she’ll find out alone. In general today’s episode was pretty good and chill, exactly what we needed after the heavy and angst last episodes!

Dengkai…I wasn’t familiar with your game but wow, what a convincing acting. Qimin and Qian Qian having some visually aesthetic scenes once again…I’d be obsessed with them if their relationship wasn’t that problematic and if Qimin wasn’t such a lunatic. It’s so uncomfortable seeing what she’s going through because of his craziness. The symbolism with water in their relationship is kind smart tho, especially seeing the effects fire caused in Qimin’s life.
Xie Zheng farmed some aura in today’s episode omg he was so cool in the flood scene. Linghe is really handsome in this character! Chang Yu will finally meet Ning and Xie Zheng in the next episodes but the angst will also come 😪 I’m excited and not ready at the same time haha
I was looking at some comments and I know we all want the main leads to be together asap but the secondary characters are also interesting and important to the story. I don’t feel like they’re robbing the main lead moments. Chang Yu and Xie Zheng got together pretty fast in the beginning (I know it was a “fake” relationship but still) so it’s understandable that they’re apart now. They also need to grow individually. Tbh everything is so good that even the angst is good 😂 and I’m saying this as a person who usually don’t enjoy angst. So yeah, the secondary characters are having a good amount of screentime but I don’t feel like others having space in the drama is a problem and I think the leads are still shining.
