Just finished EP2 and it got better compared to EP1! The episode flowed better, the actors' chemistry is developing well and I'm already enjoying the characters! I'm enjoying IU's character; her boldness and confidence sometimes give us some cringe-worthy scenes but she's winning me over. She's strong minded and gets straight to the point, she knows what she wants and I loved that!
I've seen some criticism regarding IU’s acting, but for me, is the character that people are not getting. Normally, characters with bold and confident personalities are likeable by the majority but since her scenes have a touch of exaggeration and a comedic air, people are finding IU’s acting cringe or thinking she’s not suitable for the character. In general I think Hui Ju will be a character that not everyone will like but in my opinion IU is suitable and her acting it’s not a problem here.
Now talking about Wooseok’s acting…he’s definitely the weakest in the cast BUT I’m not finding him that bad as everyone is saying. His character seems a little indifferent/cold at times and I think his acting is kind portraying that. I’m not bothered by his acting here tbh and I think it’s a little funny that everyone is questioning his acting skills NOW because he did just fine in Lovely Runner lol
Seung Yeon is being praised by many and she deserves. Her acting is solid and her character definitely brings some drama to the story. Steve is a little in the shadows for now but I think he’ll gain importance later. Didn’t like the potential love triangle tho 😫
I CANNOT BREATH 😭😭😭 Ji Ling and Wuyi’s storyline definitely is going to be one of my favorite this year like is SO BEAUTIFUL. They’re definitely one of the best couples of the year
To me it was a decent first episode, nothing incredible but not bad either. I saw some comments about IU’s and Wooseok’s acting but I wasn’t bothered by it. I think IU’s character is a little similar to other’s characters she had before so she’s natural in this type of role and Wooseok is decent too. Didn’t find his acting cringe. The story seems a little weak tho…it didn’t catch my attention right away but I think the story might progress well later as the writer won a MBC script contest and IU usually choose good dramas to be part of. At least I’m hoping so, it’s only the first episode so let’s see. The couple chemistry will definitely be a positive point here…already excited!
PS: Seung Yeon is so beautiful omg and her character fits her a lot! She’s giving a solid performance.
So….this is definitely one of the most confusing dramas I’ve ever watched, thank god people here are helping each other because I could never understand all things alone. Every episode I’m like OH OK I UNDERSTAND….*2 min later* WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING
Tbh it’s difficult to see a happy ending for both main couples 😭 but I’ll end myself if Wuyi and Jiling doesn’t have a good ending like I NEED THEM TO BE HAPPY PLEASE I LOVE THEM SM 😭
EP12-13 were great! EP13 was a little confusing in the last 25 minutes but I understood better reading the summary in the comments below 😂 Wang Yan and Shi Guang moments were so beautiful 😭 they shined more in today’s episode, finally! I die everytime Wu Yi asks Chi Wen if he’s Ji Ling and he denies 😭 but deep down she already know he is.
EP10 was SOOO GOOD! I love how all of them are farming aura in those entrances and fighting scenes. I’m seriously in love with Wu Yi and Chi Wen couple, they’re giving me everything: visuals, storyline, angst, cute scenes..love love! Shi Guang and Wang Yan are the mature vibes kind couple and I’m excited for their next scenes! The main story is progressing really well too, it’s becoming better and better!
PS: Poor Li Jie, everyone protecting their wife’s while he was alone 😂
JI LING 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 my sweet boy!!! Omg the episodes got so much better after EP6. I was already liking but EP6-7-8 were soooo good! Amazing fight scenes, the CGI is on fire! Wu Huo farmed aura in EP6 omg I think I’ll be obsessed with him.
Jia Rui is doing a great job portraying 2 different characters, I’m liking both. He and Jingyi are having a great chemistry, I’m surprisingly loving their dynamic but I’m afraid we’ll suffer with this couple 😭 Duling and Joseph are having a good dynamic too, THAT scene of them on EP8 was 🔥. I think it’s good that both couples are different and interesting at the same time. For now, Jia Rui-Jingyi couple are more engaging for me but I think both couples are good!
Watched 2 episodes and it’s interesting so far. There’s a clearly difference in acting tho but I think I’ll get used to. Duling and Joseph’s characters are a good match and I think Jingyi’s and Jia Rui’s character might be cute together. Duling and Jingyi beauty is kind insane, what a combo!
Wow I finished…what a ride! While watching this drama I read some comments about people being frustrated and I understand because sometimes you have expectations and loving something from the very beginning doesn’t mean it will continue to deliver the same level of quality later or what you expected to see. But to me, even with some flaws, the drama continued to be SO addicting and I spent all day anxiously waiting for more and more episodes.
One of the positive things about this drama is that the cinematography is beautiful and the director knows what he’s doing. If you watched “Blossom” you already know he’s good but he continuted to be good here as well and I’m already excited to watch another work from him!
Tian Xiwei is a REALLY good actress. She has this beautiful and cute face but still can act as a tough girl and we can actually believe that she’s strong. Her acting is SO natural that it doesn’t feel like acting at all. Chang Yu is a type of character that you’ll love automatically and it will for sure be always remembered when we talk about strong female lead characters!
Zhang Ling He was also good too! First, this is definitely the drama he’s the most handsome like it’s insane. Second, his performance is spot on! He delivered exactly what the scenes required. Xie Zheng, his role, isn’t perfect and I believe the character should’ve be more developed but he was so charming! And one thing that I loved about him is that he always let Chang Yu shine. He never overshadowed her. He saw her as his equal.
Dengkai was also really good as a villain, really good acting! Never watched anything with him but he got my attention. Qimin, his role, is a completely lunatic character but with an interesting story. Mu Ran as Yuan Qing was also a good villain, although a little stupid. I loved Qian Qian! She’s so strong minded and never let herself fall in Qimin’s control. The pig butcher squad was also charming and funny!
The chemistry between Chang Yu and Xie Zheng was amazing, I screamed a lot in all their scenes. Besides Bai Lu, I think Xiwei was the best chemistry Linghe had. And the same with Xiwei, Linghe was one of her best chemistry. Really wish to see both in another work together. Qimin and Qian Qian aren’t a couple that we can shipp as their story is totally toxic and abusive but we can’t deny the actor’s chemistry. Just didn’t understand why we had that much of “romantic” scenes between them…
The ending was satisfactory! And the post credit scene was kind cute! A good fanservice for us.
My complaints about his drama is that we could feel that things was happening a little too fast after episode 30 and although everything worked out in the end, the pacing was a little damaged. To give a better pacing I think maybe a PART2 was needed or they should’ve cut some side characters unnecessary screentime and scenes. Also, I haven't read the novel, but I believe we could’ve seen more scenes of Xie Zheng battling. He’s a strong and feared Marques and we only saw him that way towards the end.
Some people said Qimin and Qian Qian had better romantic scenes than Chang Yu and Xie Zheng but I think it’s a matter of perspective and preferences and personally I liked the main leads scenes. They had beautiful and artistic scenes while Qimin and Qian Qian had more sensual and aesthetic scenes. But I do think they nerfed a bit some kissing scenes between Chang Yu and Xie Zheng. And they did this while giving focus to Qimin and Qian Qian kissing scenes when the couple isn’t even shippable like… definitely a questionable choice lol
In general, although it wasn’t a perfect ride, I can’t say that the wait wasn’t worthy! I fell in love with the actors, the cinematography, the direction, the main couple and I enjoyed the story and characters! It’s a type of drama that I believe that even with some flaws here and there, it still deserves the attention and love.

- What’s his weakness?
- The same weakness as mine
SHAKING CRYING SCREAMING THROWING UP OMG I LOVEEEEE THEM 😫

PS: Feiyu’s hair here is so weird omg thank god he still is handsome anyways
