It could have been so if she had actively accepted him. The way I see it she slipped up, being unable to hide…
Agreed. It was one of those moments she slipped up like the tangerine scene, except unlike the tangerine scene, she’s looks too tired to fight the inevitable anymore since they were bound to run into each other. It’s in Doek-Im’s micro expressions. Plus, she didn’t really have a choice in going back to the palace. She accepted Hwabin’s treatment of her without complaining. People forget that she could always take the easy road out and be a part of the Queen Dowager’s palace. Also the hands again…she looked down at her hands as if she realized they involuntarily grabbed his sleeve.
Dam I really don't wanna be that person but I keep thinking the only reason she accepted Yi San is to get away…
That’s one of the speculations because Hwabin was jealous of Doek-Im being able to bear children. But there was no evidence that can tie Hwabin to her uncle’s crime. She couldn’t be punished but she was stuck on her own in her palace that became like a “cold palace” for the rest of her life and was largely ignored.
I don't know if it is just me but I completely understood Deok Im's reasons after her talk with Court Lady Seo…
I think that’s the problem, they didn’t have time to show some of the things from her perspective in the novel cause too much time was probably spent on San getting to the throne. Also, that scene where San talks about knowing from the beginning of their relationship that someday he would have to kill Dork-Ro, it was something he said to Doek-Im in the novel which brought chills to her. Plus, he basically told her he used Doek-Ro to do the dirty work he couldn’t.
Some of the Viki comments about Deom-im are so disgusting and mean. Honestly the character and the actress are…
I always have to turn off the comments in Viki. People are just down right nasty at times no matter which drama I watch and how pretty the FL are. And they obviously didn’t pay attention to what the drama is supposed to be about.
I don't know why they were shy abt the Queen? Such an imp person and no portrayal!? Suprising
I think it may be due to length of the drama. Why include her when they don’t have time to properly show her?? If the Queen was there they can’t gloss over that relationship like they did with the concubines which may not sit well with the Viewers in Korea. Queen Hyoui was considered the angel Queen because she was one of the few Queens that didn’t get involved in politics and cut off attempts of family members to use her status. The only concubine that didn’t get along with her was Hwabin and you can see why from ep15. Hwabin was the only one of Jeongjo’s concubines that was stereotypical. They’d have to show the relationship development between her and Doek-Im as well. They moved some parts of the Queen from the novel to the Queen Dowager and Wonbin.
But at the same time, from my research, I found Uibin Seong (deok im) really did not want to become Jeongjo's…
That’s the unique thing about their love story. This is told in another perspective with their relationship journey being the main plot while Lee-San Wind in the Palace is more about Yi-San himself.
I love this drama but I don't like how we are getting everything condensed in the last episodes. We either needed…
It may be because that’s what really happened, their married life is 1/5 of their 25 year relationship. I wished they got back together in th middle of ep15 but at least it’s 2 episodes and not only during the last 20 minutes of the drama like in most cases.
there's nothing worst than becoming a concubine in a harem honestly just reading the synopsis This poor girl it…
It’s not a true harem drama. It’s about the relationship journey of a legendary love story because th FL is the only one who holds the King’s heart and is the only one he chose for himself. IRL, he did not take another concubine until a year or so after her death because he had to in order to have an heir.
Honestly I think they are each other’s antagonist in the show
I think that was the point about this drama, the bumpy journey of to their relationship, both external (San’s survival) and internal obstacles (Doek-Im’s reluctance/fear). He had already considered her his concubine since his first proposal cause in the epitaph he said she was his concubine for 20 years.
No… He only visited. they have specific dates for that set by one of the departments to ensure all the stars…
That was just the bed for her. She asked Dork-Im to check her bed. The date she had Doek-Im was to be their first night together. At first I thought so too until that first night/conception date part. I rewound to make sure 🤣
Waiitttt did he rlly sleep with that hwabin even after seeing deokim??
No… He only visited. they have specific dates for that set by one of the departments to ensure all the stars line up for conception. Hwabin made Doek-Im bring the date to San which made him even madder since it seemed like it didn’t matter to her. Hwabin kinda did it on purpose.
I love historical dramas and this one just owns my heart, but there is one thing that bothers me about how history…
Same, but the one solace we have with SanDoek is that he really only had one person in his heart the entire time and wouldn’t have taken any other concubine if he wasn’t forced to…basically what happened with Wonbin and Hwabin. Some monarchs take advantage of it and have tons of concubines.
My problem is the opposite; I see no reason why she WOULD eventually marry the King (unless forced, which…isn't…
So for me, I got it from her conversation with her mentor Court Lady Seo when they were taking care of Court Lady Park. Then her and San had their conversation in the library before Wonbin came on board. But as you said it’s all up to the viewers interpretations. Before they started having the conversations, which some viewers wanted, it was all in the symbolism and inner thoughts.
Disappointed that Queen Hyoui didn’t appear in this drama. Imagine if we got to see their sismance…
Me too but they kind of merged Queen Hyoui’s plot with the Queen Dowager it was actually Queen Hyoui that Doek-Ro blamed for his sister’s death and plotted against. Glad that they kept to San’s mom being fond of Doek-Im like in history. Just glad most of that is done. Now we get two episodes of love, smiles, and buckets full of tears 😭. Can’t wait for the cute babies even though I’ll eventually be crying.
OMG…when he told Doek-I’m to go away with him…not because he wants to live happily with her but because…
Yeah…she was mean and regretted it. He was reactive and regretted it. But they both needed that separation. Doek-Im need to realize what she wanted/could lose and he needed to realize she’s not always going to be there waiting like he thought.
Also the hands again…she looked down at her hands as if she realized they involuntarily grabbed his sleeve.
