While kings usually are free to have as many concubines as they want, they usually don't love those concubines.…
That’s how I watch historical dramas too. I may not be a fan of harem dramas but it doesn’t stop me from watching good historical dramas that have harem aspects because it’s expected for those times.
Useful tweet about Deok Im’s ranking in episode 16/17https://twitter.com/filmwuju/status/1475414660404768769?s=21
Yeap. She was first 5th Rank Sangui, a concubine but not part of the Royal family. Then promoted to 3rd Rank So-yong, officially making her a Royal Consort a month before giving birth to Prince Munyo. The next year, she was promoted to 1st Rank Royal Noble Consort Bin with the name Uibin. She had to start at the 5th Rank due to Court Lady background per palace protocol but was quickly promoted less than 2 years.
and i wait for the subsyou don't even know the pain
After the last few weeks, I’ve learned to wait till after 1000 my time to check Viki. It’s been released fully subbed. I rewatch the previous week’s episodes while I wait or watch Junho/2PM videos 🤣😂
So still about hour and half each…awesome! Figured it was because they couldn’t delay the start of the drama that was supposed to air in that time slot. We’re lucky they’ve given us two long episodes of Uibin Seong. Would’ve sucked if we only got one after all they went through. MBC probably also underestimated the team they got and the pairing of the leads.
i guess it's because i watched too many sageuks already?? im the opposite. i really appreciate how he has such…
I’m not a fan of harem dramas but sometimes the good historical dramas will have some of it. I’m okay watching the drama when the ML didn’t have a choice and doesn’t sleep with them without reason. What I really hate is when the ML is the one that adds to the harem and plays into the harem drama to make the FL jealous. I had a hard time with Yanxi Palace because of that. After watching a few historical kdramas, I learned that once a crown prince is established, the other princes when they reach a certain age or get married, around 10 yo or so, they leave the palace to live in their own private residence in order to prevent a fight for the throne, even though that concept doesn’t really work. It doesn’t matter if they’re the Queen’s second son or sons of concubines, no more than the CP and babies can remain in the palace. The crazy thing is that still happens except with wealthy families in modern society. In cultures that have a history in polygamy, they still call them concubines and live in same households with deference to the main wife. In other societies, they’re outside mistresses. Don’t get me started on the ones with concubines and mistresses. The in-fighting is over inheritance, instead of a throne, with main wife’s children getting more since they’re legitimate.
when QD was playing the Go game with the King, QD's brother was mentioned being banished/ exiled. why was he exiled…
He was probably part of the traitors and only got exiled not killed because he’s her brother. In the Throne, her brother was part of the faction that didn’t want San to be King.

Yeap…from my reading, FL had a good relationship with his Queen and the royal family. The other concubine that came before FL wasn’t favored because of her jealousy. He wouldn’t have had any other concubine if possible.
Yes! And watching The Throne as a prequel is highly recommended
Yes…that scene where his grandfather asked about the grandmother’s birthday party and bowing 4 times. Loved how he answered it. That family was so dysfunctional, it’s no wonder Doek-Im, as someone who isn’t ambitious, is hesitant to become a part of it. Literally from Yeongjo to Sado to San, it was perpetual mental abuse. When YeongJo talked about Sado’s liking useless novels, I had a flashback to San saying something similar to Doek-Im about her novel reading. Though her part was short, it also gave good insight into Queen Jeongsun, his grandmother too which answered some of my questions on why some historians thought she poisoned Jeongjo. We don’t get her true nature in RS because they kinda combined her character up with Queen Hyoui.
Already went down that rabbit hole a few weeks ago and haven’t left. 🤣😂
I’ve listened to 2PM and have seen random videos in the past but haven’t really gotten into the whole fandom of anyone. Think all the crazy fan wars in China and Korea scared me. Well that is until falling into the Junho rabbit hole 🤣😂 Really love the bond of 2PM and hope they do a concert here in the states again one day. I can see reunion concerts and albums being a periodic constant in their future as each pursue their individual dreams and families.
Ikr! She's so beautiful! Too bad they only made her Royal Noble Consort Uibin in the last two episodes :(
She was so pretty in royal hanbok in Crowned Clown. I’ve watched clips of her on ‘Weekend Playlist” and “Me, Myself, and Travel.” I love that she’s so down to earth and relatable. There’s no pretense even though she’s an actress.
I wanna watch..but i feel the tragic ending..besides, i got annoyed when the ML has more than 1 wife/woman..i…
It’s more of a bittersweet ending. They do get their happiness. And it’s not a typical harem setting. He has other wives but it’s really only the FL that he wants. He doesn’t really have many concubines because his heart only belonged to one.
To all the Junho simps.Sincerely, with love:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L3zaY6PSp3Ahttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jreV94kjTbshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qI9vi_eUf8Uhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PIiuUAhH6Y8

Apparently ep 16 will air at 9.30 on 1st Jan. and in total the broadcast for the last two eps will last for 3h…
How long are commercials in Korea? I’m thinking total time minus commercials will be 3 hrs?? Either way, so happy for longer episodes and more time with SanDoek before 😭😭😭
