Apparently Zhang Zhe is reincarnated in the book but I don't think that's true for the drama...? Otherwise what…
That is how ZZ is whether in the past life or second life, he’s very righteous about what’s right and wrong. He is reincarnated and just like JXN, the one thing that can’t really be changed is their core beliefs/personalities. In both lives, JXN will be manipulative, use people and hurt people if it means reaching her goals. ZZ can’t really change who he is fundamentally either. You can also tell by how he acts around her, drinking from same bowl, touching her intimately, etc. With his personality, he wouldn’t do that to someone he just barely met if he didn’t already know her from previous life.
Xie Wei’s real identity is Xue Dingfei, the little boy that was sent out by the Empress (Dowager) disguised…
Duke Xue married Marquis Yan’s sister for power. He was a younger son but was able to inherit with the Yan family backing. He didn’t really love her or cared about his son. His wife miscarried the second baby and his son was “killed” and he didn’t care. So she divorced him and died in her grief over her son. This caused bad blood between Yan and Xue family. Duke Xue also had a concubine on the side who was already pregnant.
Xie Wei hates the Xue family and his father because the Empress (his paternal aunt) forced him to exchange places with the crown prince 20 years ago. In the novel, thee Empress threatened his mom’s life if he didn’t pretend to be the crown prince and sacrifice himself. Even though Xie Wei was her nephew she still thought of him as a lowly subject that could be sacrificed. The Xue siblings only care about themselves and power.
Guys can anyone please explain me xie wei's real identity and his relationship with yan family and what happened…
Xie Wei’s real identity is Xue Dingfei, the little boy that was sent out by the Empress (Dowager) disguised as the Crown Prince to meet the rebel Prince Pignan 20 years ago. He witnessed the 300 kids get killed in the snow and was traumatized. Everyone thought that He died but he was actually taken and hidden by the rebel leader and probably tortured/trained to do their bidding but he had his own plans for revenge. Xue Dingfei is Marquis Yan’s nephew and Yan Li’s cousin. Xie Wei/Xue Dingfei’s mother is Marquis Yan’s older sister. She married Duke Xue and they had one son which is Xie Wei/Xue Dingfei.
Still no Chemistry or romance happend between Main leads??
I think there’s chemistry…teasing (picking on each other) but no romance yet. Also only been a year since her husband left and they’re not legally divorced yet.
I actually don’t think XW has his memories. I think XW is the variable that JXN was able to affect with all…
I don’t think it’s change due to her trust but it’s change due to being around someone you care about more. But we’ll see how things turn out in the coming episodes.
The ZZ versus XW debate is interesting. I'm thoroughly enjoying them for what they are. ZZ is a quiet man, who…
I actually don’t think XW has his memories. I think XW is the variable that JXN was able to affect with all the changes that she tries to make in the second life. When you look at everything, no-one else’s behavior/personality has been personally affected by her changed actions except XW. Everything else is the effect of JXN and XW’s collaboration.
She doesn’t suspect cheating. I think she thought she didn’t have to worry about the emperor fathering children…
They’re all her kids, Emperor, Prince Jie, Princess. She could care less about grandkids as long as she can remain in power through her sons and have her side of the family marry in.
ok not done yet, sorry. I thought the "harem" could not be involved in politics. Why did the Elder Xue go to the…
The Empress Dowager was the Regent until a few years ago when the Emperor married so she was basically in power for almost 20 years. That’s how the Xue family could do whatever they want. Half the court are their puppets. This is also why the Emperor is playing a game of chess with his own family and the Yan’s.
I cant put my mind around why his dad could sacrifice his own son... is there something more?
It’s pretty much like in LLTG where ML’s uncle/father sacrificed his family for power because men could always get themselves another wife and children. He’s a climber and married ML’s mother for the Yan’s support. He wasn’t even supposed to inherit the Dukedom because he wasn’t the oldest but he married a Yan and with their support (and probably some scheming against his own siblings) he was somehow able to inherit. If he could, he would probably kill off his nephews and take the throne, but instead wields power through his sister while trying to put his daughter next to the throne.
I'm having problem seeing comments linking Jiang Xue Ning to Mary Sue character archetype. How is she Mary Sue…
She’s too gray with flaws to be a Mary Sue character. With how people are describing ZZ in the comments, I would say ZZ is more of a Mary Sue character than JXN.
I wonder how Xie Wei really feels about his real father Xue and his bratty half brother every time he encounters…
I think someone posted a clip of the meanings of the leads’ names which shows a lot about XW’s feelings towards his paternal family. His paternal family sacrificed him and his mother (and unborn sibling) carelessly for their own gains so he disowned that family name. He is very good about hiding his feelings towards the Xue family.
Xie Wei hates the Xue family and his father because the Empress (his paternal aunt) forced him to exchange places with the crown prince 20 years ago. In the novel, thee Empress threatened his mom’s life if he didn’t pretend to be the crown prince and sacrifice himself.
