I don’t see any type of dating/romantic dynamic between YY and FL. It feels mor like a little brother’s friend or younger neighbor having a crush on her and trying to do anything that will make her notice him. She doesn’t like him and lets him down in a nice and straight forward way but don’t want to crush him cause you run in the same circles. She’s been straight with him where he stands. There’s nothing wrong with a nice male friend even if he’s an annoying one.
I’m just going to say it takes two to communicate and communication is needed for any relationship. No one is a mind reader. Both leads are awesome at their careers but suck at communicating with each other. Time for the rest of the main story to move forward.

I know what you mean…the script writer didn’t change the dynamics between the leads in OFL though. They were the same in the novel. FL never lied again but ML is still stoic after they got back together. He’s a man of few words which leads to misunderstandings. What I hate is the addition of YY. From the previews the character dynamic of the 2 leads in ABAY matches the novel. I’m more worried about the changes of the side characters taking screen time. They made LiLi a main role even though her part was not significant in the novel and the previews make it seem like she’s the one that her ex-bf dates after they break up (kind of like in Be Together where the FL’s friend had secretly crushed on her ex-bf and dated him, only in ABAY, the ex-bf isn’t a douche).

lol…I remember that from the novel. He kept taking cold showers at night cause they’re sleeping in the same bed but he can’t do anything cause of her hurt fingers while she’s thinking he might have a male problem cause he’s not doing anything to her. Can’t wait 🤣

That’s what it seems like. In the novel, Xu girl didn’t know about Shi Yan until after the incident where FL’s fingers got crushed. She got the rumor about FL’s boyfriend being an older married man and spread it around the office so they argued in the stair well causing the incident. In the drama, Xu already found out about Shi Yan when she saw him pick FL up. Xu also keeps hinting at FL using her beauty to get stories. We’ll see how they execute this part of the novel since it’s already changed a little bit.
So I guess they’re going to use a different reason for Xu girl to be moved to a lower branch office. In the novel the gossip about FL with a married guy was spread at the magazine=zine office by Xu which caused their argument and the incident that put FL in the hospital and ML’s house. Looks like she’ll spread a different gossip about FL now…using her beauty to lure men for stories maybe?

I hope it’s the same cast. It wouldn’t be the same otherwise. Love the bickering, low key flirting of the two leads. The actress/actor did it well and I can’t really see anyone else as their characters.

It’s pretty similar to her boss’ relationship with Lau Guan. He’s letting her decide when they go public because as soon as they go public, it would greatly affect her personal and professional life. Anyone dating men like Shi Yan and Lau Guan have a lot to consider because sometimes parts of their lives are not their own anymore.

In the ABAY novel, they communicate because ML wouldn’t have it any other way so FL learned early on that how she was in her previous relationship was not how she should be with the ML. In this instance, both leads lack proper communication.
Both leads frustrate me because there’s no communication on either side. GJ said it best today where he took a chance and is now in a happy relationship.
FL doesn’t know what to do cause in all indications from ML, they broke up. ML says to his ex, he never said they broke up but blocks FL and refuses all contact. Isn’t that the modern form of breaking up with someone by ghosting them? FL gives up and focuses on career (something I would do but that’s me putting myself first). They weren’t together in something stable long enough for either side to feel secure.
