Despite being late in watching this show, I must say that this is by far the best xuanhuan drama I've ever come across in my life. I only watch the first episode, but I can sense the rollercoaster kind of emotions already. I particularly like the scene where they splash water to each other, eating lunch happily, and many joyful experiences. I'll also keep an eye on Master Mo. He reminds me of my chemistry teacher who has similar vibes too. At one time, he lets them do anything as they wish. At another time, he turns drastically into an entirely different person and forbids them to do this and that, which is what I experience as well. I'm not supposed to write this, but I feel "suffocated" and can't stand him any longer.

I never take Douban score in consideration so it's okay for me. Douban tends to be harsh when it comes to rating, and most of the shows earn 6-ish point. I'm not really surprised with this tho.

The day before, I did have a peek at the first episode but it turned me off soon enough. The ML is just so arrogant, prideful, and full of himself that I can't stand him any longer (he can be of a bad influence for me). The way he said that he could solve the Yesha case in just three days is.... ughhhh. Sooner or later, you'll see what it's like to be a boastful person. On the other hand, FL is quite bratty, not a damsel-in-distress and not a spoilt one either. No hate to anyone, but I just feel that Calming Waves is more inferior compared to other detective dramas. Gonna drop it and won't rate this show (that's my rule). Lastly, please don't come at me and say wishy washy stuffs because you know what I'm going to do.

Okay then. How about Calming Waves/The Wanted Detective? People are saying the FL screws the whole thing up. And yes, I'm also watching that anime. IT'S SO FREAKING AWESOME AND HOOKS ME UP FROM THE GET GO!! I feel that steampunk and victorian horror might be my cup of tea. It's not your typical Isekai story, but more of a nuanced one.

I'm enjoying it very much. Detective fiction with a mix of thriller and mystery is my cup of tea + Ao Ruipeng and Landy Li are rocking their roles. I feel the oozing chemistry between the two.

Good for you then. Kunning Palace is not made for me though (I dislike harem the most).

I see. I just happen to drop by this page and thank goodness I don't watch it given the current mess. I'm now watching Coroner's Diary and I had had a debate with my inner self whether to choose the former over the latter.

I literally roar in laughter at the vomiting scene. And yes, Qin Wan is quite of a unique badass girl (I mean we usually see badass girls as generals, assassins, and roles like that), but this time Qin Wan's role is an exceptionally talented coroner, relying heavily on forensic skills, not fighting and brawling anymore. I also feel the electric chemistry between the two leads. They are match made in heaven lmfao.

Nah, I don't know for sure, just rumours swirling here and there. But, it wrapped up back in January, so it's only been 6 months. I believe post production for a xianxia drama needs a lot of time - 9 or 10 months the most if you don't include the delay made by the platforms. Six months is kinda short unless they want to follow the path of The Princess Royal (it's not a fantasy drama, so it's understandable for it to air straight after wrapping up) and The Last Immortal. Even though it has gotten the distribution license, there's no guarantee that the editing will be completely done. They may change or perhaps do some smoothing again to make the show better when it airs. But, for now, we don't have any choice except to wait until 8th July and see if this rumour is true or just a 🤡

This will be my first time watching Landy Li tho. I only come for the plot and Ao Ruipeng 🥰🥰
