I loved Love of Nirvana but couldn't get into Legend of Shen Li and Rise of phoenixes
Under the power watching 20th episode and while I like RJL's role all side characters are pretty uninteresting and annoying. I don't mind older productions or effects but aside from main couples in drama what I like are well written supporting characters. Is there any character growth in the future? I really liked both Fate chooses you and Demon Hunter's romance so I can't help but compare stories. However, this series is rated higher here but it's just so -so for me. I'm mainly watching because of RJL's character.

Just starting this. You recommended me some other dramas on one post here but for some reason I couldn't get into them but ended up watching mostly RJL's dramas recently. I really enjoyed most of them including last one ( Fate chooses you)

So far I really like it. Lot of fighting scenes, characters are likeable and memorable, acting is decent, been waiting for new wuxia series

I can't believe just a couple of episodes until the end of the series 😭. I will miss this crew of characters dearly. While not without flaws this series is quite entertaining and unique. Also, every series I watched with Ren Jia Lun is with decent story, how he manages to pick good scripts every time? Even some with lower ratings on mdl are quite good. If someone has any recommendations similar to this story pls recommend. If not allowed here, you can dm. 🤗
P.S. New fav couple in last episode Lord of the Rust and ZYY 🤭

Same, just started with FCY. And really nostalgic so I came here.

This series is very interesting, so far. I like both FL and ML. So glad I found this show, didn't had any expectations or even waiting for this. It's just happened that I recently watched other Ren Jialun series so I saw he has new series. Love also other cast, so much familiar faces. Story is intriguing too.
P.S. Xiao Shun Yao I missed you since Mysterious case lotus book 😄

What a journey this was, rollercoaster of emotions. Favorite show of 2026 and one of iconic characters that will stay with me forever -Ji Ling. All cast did amazing job, OST is perfect too, romance done well, exceeded my expectations.

Finally something to shake my k-drama slump.I watched episode 1, hope it stays good.

Thank you! Can't wait for his new costume drama. He is one of my favorite actors. I will try all your recs, I watch everything and tend to jump from genre to genre if I'm in the slump. Last one I really enjoyed was Mysterious Lotus casebook.I will try Love of Nirvana as I love FL or Legend of Shen Li first.

lol I dropped TTEOTM on ep 30. I guess it's a thin line what I love and what is annoying to me about tragic characters ( same with his role in Ashes of love ) 😭

You're so right! I was annoyed with some of his plot stories before but his shows keep staying in my memory while some other shows I forgot completely. But ofc we are all different and taste is subjective. I also dropped some really popular dramas lots of people loved. I usually prefer tight plot stories. But this is first time I anxiously wait for another episode of series still airing to drop, usually I wait for the series to end to binge it.
