Ep 11 was the best one yet. Enjoyed every bit, especially both of the lift scenes (the epic we-all-know-what and the other with the laywer's wife) and of course the ending scene.
Did Son Seok Koo appear in the show? I've seen all eps so was wondering if I missed something or he didn't appear at all. Can anyone tell me? He's in the cast list, apparently.
Correct me if I'm wrong (I speak zero Korean, just sort of learned a few words from Kdramas), my understanding is that a guy may call an older woman 'noona' even if they ain't siblings?
Also, I'm quite sure he yelled 'ajumma' in protest when she voted to kick him out of the apartment.
I don't think he's her brother, just some 'pawn' she brought in and used in her scheme for becoming the rep (as per Sae Bom's confrontation). You can look up the cast list, they don't share the same surname.
Oh I was quite engrossed but also didn't recogise him at first actually. Had to do a double take. It was a night scene so maybe that was why. I was thrilled seeing him in the cast list but looks like his screen time will be limited.
I love the lead couple but I think Tae Seok deserves a special mention and in a way I'm actually more intrigued by his movements and decisions.
I mean he falls into the 'grey' category but morality aside, he is your perfect leader: the guy is cool-headed, only spits facts, always stays on top of things, makes sound judgement of situations and is quick to make decisions. All in all, he plays a great, if not the most crucial part in moving things forward. And I have to say I really like his calmness and level headed nature, which is obviously thanks to the character writing but full marks for the acting too.
I'm absolutely loving the show, loved Han Hyo Joo in all of the dramas and movies I've seen of her and started…
Of course, there’s nothing wrong with pointing out things you don’t like about a show or its characters and their flaws. I mean, I love Sae Bom but if you don’t, go ahead and tell me if you want, I’d be happy to hear why and maybe even be enlightened, or defend her, if appropriate. But some people can be oversensitive when their favourite show or characters are criticised. While some seem mature and reasonable when responding to such criticism, some can’t handle it without getting aggressive and rude. I’ve seen it happen a lot across MDL’s comment sections and don’t see it improving, to be honest.
Everyone has right to voice their opinion.. it can be negative or positive, that's the purpose of discussion.…
I'm absolutely loving the show, loved Han Hyo Joo in all of the dramas and movies I've seen of her and started this for her. Still, I wasn't impressed by some of her character's reactions and decisions. I can list a few that irked me a bit but that's not the point and am too lazy (and mostly because I've decided to turn a blind eye). That doesn't make me like her or the character or the show any less. But going by some comments, I'd fit the profile of a hater, which I find kind of amusing. If such comments are not constructive but rude and offensive , I'd pay them no mind.
I'm absolutely nuts about this show. Loved the aired episodes and no doubt will be hooked till the end.
I particularly love that they spent the first 4 (great) episodes introducing and building up the story and allowed us to get to know the characters, enough to care for or at least be curious about them and their fates going forward now that the set-up is done and we are to move on to the next chapter.
I think Sae Bom did ask him lock down until when? He said until they get enough manpower to settle the issue which…
Oh you're right. I think I recalled that bit now, which explains some of the things I was wondering. But not the part where Tae Seok said to the man as if staying outside could be a choice for those residents, then what's the point of a lockdown? I get it they can't track down all of them, it makes perfect sense that way, but they could at least do something about those who show up like that man, no? Idk, but now I'm thinking maybe they will take action soon enough, I just got a little hung up on Tae Seok's comment and was getting a bit ahead of myself.
Not sure if I missed anything, but what baffled me a bit was the lockdown scene at the end of Ep 3.
So, they’ve sealed off the building to prevent and mitigate the spread of the virus. What about those residents who ain’t home? Like the old man who was out to get burgers. If you think about it, Han Tae Seok telling him once he gets in he can’t get out doesn’t make sense. So the man can stay outside if he wants to and that’s that? He and those locked out could be infected and spreading the virus yet they just let them be? Shouldn’t Han Tae Seok’s people do something about them too? Get a list, call for voluntary quarantine, track them down or whatever? I can’t wait to see what’s going to happen inside the building but I hope today’s episode will also show that they’re doing more than just locking down the place. But all in all, good episode, really enjoyed it. Also, loved Sae Bom and Yi Hyun's old married couple vibes.
Seems interesting. I don't like the female lead all that much yet, she seems way too materialistic, to the point…
I wouldn’t call the FL ‘materialistic’, more like practical and realistic. Not sure what made you think that she was 'way too materialistic', but I think it's a bit too early to judge, and if we’re talking about faking a marriage to get more points for the apartment application approval, that’s because she has a goal, a dream of having her very own place induced by her difficult childhood, if we can call it that, and she’s making it come true.
Of course asking the ML to fake marry her wasn’t the ideal way to achieve that goal and by doing so, she did put herself first but it didn’t mean that she valued money and wealth more than anything. Not to mention the ML could have turned her down if he had not liked the idea. If anything, he seemed keen and flattered.
I've been having my eyes on the book for a while (but leaning towards the audio version read by Tom Hiddleston).…
Yep, I was thinking to get the audiobook from Audible. Tom Hiddleston’s voice (acting) is amazing indeed, he can make anything sound better (and sexier!). Thanks for the warning. Though psychological thriller/dark(er) genres are generally my thing, there’s only so much disturbing/extreme content I can take so hopefully I’ll survive but let’s see :). Anyway, now I know what my next read/listen will be, thanks!
The tension between the lower floors and those above in the apartment building really remind me of the book High-Rise…
I've been having my eyes on the book for a while (but leaning towards the audio version read by Tom Hiddleston). Maybe now is the time to pick it up. Would you recommend it?
They are not essentially dead yet and has this lucid state where they act normally again (until it became too…
That makes sense, thanks. Actually, I didn’t mean that the word ‘zombies’ should be used and taken seriously as some sort of an ‘actual diagnosis’, but maybe in a one-off random comment, even just to be completely ignored or brushed off right away, ’cause realistically speaking, if you like, people know off the top of their heads what zombies are like and the thought of it would likely cross their minds immediately when they see those who’ve partly or fully turned yes? Anyway, it’s really not a big deal, just me wanting to see a zombie show, for once, acknowledge the term onscreen.

No offense, just wanted to share my thoughts.
