Yep, we have been too invested, we don't want to be disappointed, that's all :)

God i HATE this trope of making female characters "choose" between their career and love. Why can't they do both?…
I see your point and I don't like this trope either.

I was just thinking, irl if a city girl moves to the countryside, it's highly likely that sooner or later she will more or less miss the city life, and be faced with those choices and/or the classic what would have been/what-if situations. So though I don't see yet why they found it necessary to bring in this trope, I think it may as well serve as some sort of closure for Hyejin, and not necessarily to prove her growth. Because though her realisation while in Seoul in Ep 10 is nice, it doesn't touch on one of the most important things that drives her in life: her career. So if put aside her relationship with Dusik and this trope being used to move the story forward like you said, maybe the writer thought this would leave no possible questions unanswered for her and also for us viewers, and wanted to say louder that Gongjin is where she truly belongs now (that's if she chooses to stay in Gongjin).

In ep 13 when Ijun and Bora were praying together to lightnings of all the things, I cried. Am not sure because…
Yes I did cry too :(. Tissue box sellers must be doing well lately while Homecha's airing lol. I think it's a mix of both, their cuteness and the way they showed so much love and care towards each other and their loved ones.

Title The King's Affection Spoiler
He was supposed to live and his twin sister was supposed to die. Rule of the Royal house. But he is killed in…
Right. I was actually wondering the same. Whether he recognised Ji Woon's father as the killer or not, do you think
he was too caught up in the situation and all he could think of at that point was to protect the twin, be it the daughter or the son? I mean if he revealed the Prince's identity to Ji Woon's father, he could have saved the prince, but that would put the girl in danger, wouldn't it? So maybe he thought let's keep quiet and protect the prince first, he'd be fine when he was back at the palace. That way he could buy some time for the sake of the girl's safety. She wouldn't be safe otherwise. It could be, right?

Ji Woon's father for sure had no idea who was who but I think the guard warrior later did realise it was the son when the boy asked 'did my father send you...', to which the warrior said 'Your highness, is that you'. Maybe he wasn't 100% sure hence reluctant to tell Ji woon's father but looked like he was about to at the final scene. Unfortunately, it was too late.

I'd prefer the same. I don't really mind a time skip if it truly serves a meaningful purpose and is done well but I'm not a fan either. Some use it as an easy escape route, sort of 'past is past, let's forget what happened and start afresh'. So if a time skip is used due to lazy writing or because writers can't think of a better way to continue a story, I think it can feel lacking and an unfinished business will just remain unfinished.

In Episode 14, when Hong Banjang told Hyejin he was going to tell her something, and Hyejin said she had something…
I think she was to tell him about the offer in the sense that she was thinking about it but undecided. But after she comes to learn about his trauma I think she would hold back. She may or may not continue to consider it I can't tell, but my guess is she won't accept the offer. They may move to Seoul in the future but not soon, not until Dusik is completely healed.

Edit: On second thoughts, someone told me they may follow the movie's script, in which Hyejin goes back to Seoul for a year (if I rememeber correctly) so I'm not sure.

How come Homecha has the most adorable kids? Ijun and Bora never fail to make me smile and go awww whenever they're on screen. Juri's cheekiness can brighten anyone's mood. Harang also completely stole my heart with his brief presence in Ep14. His smiles are like sunshine. Even watching him eat melted my heart ♡

Istg my mood get ruins when people talk about ratings of any drama like why is it soo high/why is it so low. Rating…
I don't mind at all when people complain about ratings but when I see some people get so worked up to the point of bashing, even insulting others for giving their favourite drama a poor rating, I honestly wonder if they've ever given any drama a low score. I mean double standard much? And why would we need ratings and reviews anyway if we can't rate based on our opinions?

If my favourite drama has poor ratings, would I be disappointed? Yes. Would I wish for a higher score? Absolutely. Would I hate on people for rating it low? Definitely not. They have as much a right as I do.

No, it's not easy. From a rock - been one for years.
I agree being realistic and relatable is part of the show's appeal. It paints humans with flaws who are willing to learn new things, to fix and learn from their mistakes.

But I also understand why some don't see it. I think it's probably to do with the same things: they don't find it realistic or relatable. Maybe because the world they live in is different, and/or they have never had the same or similar experiences. There are things in Homecha others see that I don't and vice versa so that's what I thought.

I feel statements like:"Just open up to me""Be a rock""oh just ignore that""be patient"Doesn't take into consideration…
I can't agree more.

E.g. personally, tell me to be patient? The world may come to an end and I wouldn't sweat. Tell me to open up though? I'd run for the hills hehe.

Yeah totally. We are expected to be the strong(er) one but not many see that we can also break any moment. And when we want to put our health first in order to recharge and regain our strength so we can continue to be that rock we feel guilty.

I don't know is it the writing or Kim Seonho's amazing acting but i can't think about ep 14 beyond those last…
Right there with you. Everyone else is saying Hyejin handled it perfectly and I could see why they think so as I agreed she did the right thing and said almost all the right words. But sometimes we forget that so often it's not what you do, it's how you do it. The moment she asked Dusik 'you still have nothing to say to me', in my head, I was 'whoa, pressuring much?' And then came those things you pointed out too. It's like something looking good on paper (or screen) but would be lacking in reality.

Don't get me wrong, I still love them together, and I liked it very much that Hyejin has matured a lot and is learning to be more understanding and patient. All in all, I think she's doing great for someone, like she said it herself, who isn't patient, especially as she's trying to adapt to the new environment, new people, new relationship and all. I was pretty confident she wouldn't break up with him over that issue and bet the break would be very short, which meant I trusted in her growth and that's not going to change. But to say she knows how to give someone space? Nah, I don't think so.

I didn't think much about that but I get what you’re saying now. I admit when I first learned that my loved one was suffering from depression, it took me quite some time to understand what it was, how to be there for her and I’m still learning every day. People like me or anyone actually depend on multiple outlets to learn about mental illnesses. So I agree with you that raising mental health awareness and education is extremely important and one that aims to do so should send the right messages.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm a carer for a family member, and one of my close friends has PTSD so I'd say I am not clueless about mental health and I hear you. I'm glad you're taking care of yourself.

What you said about Dusik's secret being revealed in front of the people he loves, I was upset and commented on it too. To be honest, it's stuck with me and I'm still trying to figure out what made the writer think it was necessary so I don't have much to say yet but I'd like to think they had good intention.

One thing I've always noticed throughout all episodes is the smooth transitions between scenes and events, present and past and all.

For me, Ep 14 took it to the next level with the so-called twist related to Doha. One moment they're all laughing and joking about Chief Hong's name, the next we see Doha coming at Dusik. Who would have thought a random joke would make something so deep emerge and start such dramatic events? It jumps at you out of nowhere yet it's so smooth.
