Though the overall quality is a 7, the choices the three characters made regarding themselves was amazing. The FL's journey and her realization of why she dated the way she did and what she truly needed and deserved was so amazing to see. This may seem like a surface level rom-com, but it ends up being a character study where each characters learns more about themselves and how important their choices are.

The love triangle ended in a way that I've never seen come true in an asian drama before and I loved it.

The timing of the subs are sadly very off... It makes the subs incomprehensible.

I adored the FL! She was so full of character and she remained strong and charismatic without losing her vulnerability.

The first episode has such messy and convoluted pacing and writing. Does the rest of the show have such poor directing? I really like Elvira and think Jing Boran is a crazy talented actor, but if the directing continues like that....

Title Regeneration Spoiler
The way He Shan talks about him during the camping trip, and that soft, tender look he gives her—it lives in…
The way she phrased it was so heartbreaking. It wasn't a first love, it was an "almost first love." Because of the decision he made, he completely changed the trajectory of his life, losing everything that could've been. In the final moments of the show, Shen pictures the same moment that Li Zenrui rewinds back to. They both go back to the moment they talked about going to college together.

She mourned what could've been and he returned to his last moment of hope as he took his last breath.

Title Regeneration Spoiler
If Li Zurui hadn’t messed up the exam at the last minute, would everything have changed?
In his final moments, he rewinds back to his past. The final moment that he stops at is the picture of himself with Shen. He was innocent and hopeful with a life ahead of him-an easy path out of his messed up home.

If he had chosen to protect himself rather than enact revenge, he would've gone to college with Shen and none of the events would have happened.

Title Regeneration Spoiler
I’m on episode 9 and think it’s weird He Shan is so into Fei Ke’s business. They parted ways, what’s it…
Well she was hired to investigate him, so that's what sent her down the rabbit hole. But she's that invested not because of how close they were, but because of what they could've been. They were close friends who had dreams and plans together, imagining a future at the same college. She even admits that he was almost her first love, but it never blossomed into one-it was cut short. She likely morns the future that Li Zenrui had, the person that he would've become, and the relationship that they could've had.

Plus she was the only person to know who he really was. She was the only one that knew her secrets, so they had an odd bond in that sort of way as well.

The dark tone and psychological twists are really fun to watch if you enjoy layered and complex characters. There are a lot of aspects that are subjective even by the end so you get to form your own opinion about some character motivations. I really liked how they didn't spell things out, it's as messy and confusing as a real person. People are far to complicated to ever fully understand.

Plus the acting is incredible. Jing Bo Ran really impressed me in this.

Title Regeneration Spoiler
It ends with each person returning to their happiest self or their truest forms of themselves. For Fei Kei, only after his death did he regain his name. Only in his last moments, did he do something that was true of himself, returning to his innocent self still full of hopes and dreams. Only once before his death did he get to hear his true name, only once...

Only one person remembered who he once was, Shen was his only lifeline. And in his final moments, he chose to safe that lifeline, the last remaining piece of his hope.

This feels like a book adapted into a movie-there's so much plot, details, and world building, yet none of them are actually explored.
