You’d think that it is a given, if there is going to be a s2 of a kdrama (that is the continuation of the same story, especially if it’s based on an existing material to the screenwriter isn’t coming up with a new story) that the main character would be there! (Since season 2 of this was announced way before) But apparently not…

It always amuses me a little when an actor plays a character with the same name as them, like what do you mean Byun Yo Han is playing Yo Han? 😂 Because sometimes it feels like they were too lazy to come of with a name and just went with the actor’s name instead (though, I am aware that this particular film is based on a novel so this character’s name was most likely established way before the cast was!).

May be, though based on the script reading video he seems to have a lot of speaking parts too, and based on the fact that his character became hearing impaired later in life, he might continue speaking as “normal”. Though I hope some sign language will be used too.

That part actually might depend on the translation of the synopsis and the site you’re looking at. Someone posted (on this dramas page here on mdl) another synopsis of the drama from another site and they didn’t use that wording, it was a bit different in general too.

From the script reading he seems to have a lot of speaking parts. As to his hearing loss, it’s a very broad spectrum, some people use hearing devices and still prefer to use sign language or even with the device their hearing is very poor, some people don’t use any devices but still can hear a bit etc. I’m not an expert on this, so I have no idea how it might be portrayed in this drama.

So excited for this movie!!! The story is tragic and very interesting, and the cast looks great!
