The plot is plotting and I’m happy [edit: nooo the kiss…] but my only kind of complaint is… well, I wish they won’t try to redeem Yeomhwa much, like, why can’t she just be a villain? She’s an excellent antagonist and I hope she won’t turn into that “they were just misunderstood and hurt” trope. Like, she really does some nasty things, they shouldn’t be forgiven just because of a backstory lol, besides she doesn’t seem like someone who’d have a quick change of heart. Anyway, why is the Jiung and Bok-i/Dojoon storyline so funny?? It’s hilarious but it’s also kinda cute hehe.
What’s wrong with Pale Moon (I haven’t seen it)?
Ah okay, there isn’t any much younger man in this drama here though. The ML seems to be around the same age as the FL, and if she has a romance with anyone here then probably with him.
The premise is so interesting, especially coming from South Korea. I hope that the ML won’t turn out to be the antagonist of this show (that the final won’t be like the FL vs ML), but that we’ll have a very morally grey etc male lead instead.
I’ve only just started this… it’s like, it’s weird and like, dumb and smart at the same time, but it seems fun! Anyway, Lee Soohyuk looks sooo good here, that’s all that matters for now lol.
I am hooked but I wonder in what direction they’re going to go with the plot… I mean judging by the teaser of ep 7 it seems like it's nearing the culmination of the main plot, but like they’ve got enough story for 1-2, maximum 3 episodes, yet it’s a 12 episode series so I wonder how it’s going to turn out. Also judging by the ep 7 teaser, I’m a little disappointed, because I kind of wanted Yeomhwa to be more of an unapologetic villain, that does bad deeds and just strives for power or something but it seems like she’s going to have a somewhat redeeming or at least like an explanatory backstory, maybe even a sob-story idk. I’m just kinda… not glad if that’s the case, but well, one can’t have everything, I guess.
Choo Young Woo is becoming one of my favorite actors recently. It’s fun and a little bit weird, watching him in this drama after The Trauma Code! He was so goofy in that one, but here he’s sad and depressed (and I’m here for it! I came to watch the ml have the worst time and I’m loving it so far! :) Poor guy, I wanna hug him tightly… - I lowkey wish he was a bit more miserable/longer depressed though, I don’t know if it’s just me, but I find it an really interesting and rather important part of the story, it would have been nice for it to stay that way.), he has good range and abilities! Watching him is a pleasure.
Watched a couple episodes and so far, this drama is so good! Interesting and I like the characters. It’s fun though: the drama is mainly about shamans/shamanism, then here comes the archery coach with Biblical stories and Jesus comparisons lol. I really like his character.
Anyway, Choi Yi Hyun’s acting isn’t something grandeur, awesome etc. But she isn’t bad or anything. The fl characteristics are kind of typical for a high school/young adult romance kdrama, so it’s a pretty basic foundation for a character, hence nothing outstanding/breathtaking, but she’s good. I like when Choi Yi Hyun plays a type of characters that are youthful/a bit childish (like here with the first love troupe or her careless, quick thinking) but at the same time have this kind of maturity, moments of wisdom and adult/mother-like instincts in them, I think she is very suitable for portraying such characters (like here or in The Matchmakers for example).
All in all, I’m really enjoying this kdrama so far, I’ll be waiting for the next one and the rest of the episodes! :D
Well, Jung Haein and Go Kyungpyo are very good actors so even if the script is mid, they’ll deliver something. But I actually really liked this. It’s definitely kind of body-horror-like uncomfortable and violent but the premise of the plot is very interesting. The action scenes were fun etc. It’s a pretty underrated drama. The only thing that I didn’t really vibe with was the romantic parts between the two leads. It just didn’t.. “stick”(?) well together. I feel like this was supposed to have a second season, but because it didn’t blow up it still has not gotten one and it doesn’t seem like it’ll get one in the foreseeable future. That’s kind of sad, I’d have gladly watched it.
I’m glad Koo Kyo Hwan has quite many movies on the way, because this guy is TALENTED. I’d like to see them (Koo Kyo Hwan and Go Youn Jung) in a drama together.
I think having the lead actress play someone in her 30s when she's only 23 is ridiculous. That's where they lost…
I assume by ps you mean plastic surgery..? How? From what I’ve seen he just looks a bit older (i mean, that normal that he ages) and his face lines might be more prominent but that’d be about it. I haven’t noticed anything else.
