Title You Are My Fateful Love Spoiler
im currently on ep 22 midway and the female lawyer sheng lan is so frustrating. when the fl asks sheng lan what…
Frankly speaking, that scene made me feel more frustrated with the FL. In the first place, why on earth would she go to that cafe to see someone who, as she knows for certain, has a secret agenda and has even tried to ruin her relationship previously? Then, even if she went there out of pure curiosity, why would she take so close to heart something this Shenglan-lady had to say? I mean, come one, you're a grown up person, why can't you be a bit more confident and assertive when it comes to your own life? Why do you allow other people have a say?! Nope, she has nothing better to do than to listen to someone else's rubbish and then sit in her apartment feeling that her world has fallen apart.

Anyway, I'm not imposing anything here ☺️ Thanks to your explanation, now I can see why for some viewers the drama is a bit slow and the central conflict a bit stretched. Just saying, that for me personally, it's all fine, so far.

I think that ultimately depends on the person. Some people are braver in that respect when they are younger, and for some the courage to express their feelings openly comes with age. Anyhow, I support you in that ML should have explained how he and his sister are involved in the matter. The only logical explanation I can see to it is the scene in the beginning of the 2nd ep., when ML let FL be the one to decide whether she wants to acknowledge that they know each other, and then just followed her lead (which I think was rather considerate and respectful of him). Since FL preferred to pretend to not know him and ML supported this legend, it probably would have made no sense to involve the sister and explain everything in detail... That's just my guess 🤷🏻‍♀️

Thanks for your reply! I see your point, though do not entirely relate. I think it's exactly because both the ML and the FL are adult people who have been out of touch for some time, they are so hesitant and cautious. When you're 18, it's probably OK to say: 'Hey, I like you. What do you think?' It's not so ok when you're 28. Besides, no one wants to look like a fool who hasn't got over a school crush after so many years.

I haven't seen all the episodes that are already out, though. Maybe the progress gets really draggy in eps 10-12...

I known rating is not important for a drama to be good or bad. But for the first time viewers check the rating.…
I've rated al the episodes I have watched so far 10/10, because I really like this drama, -- and I am a picky eater when it comes to films and dramas. Hope it helps increase the overall rating a bit, because as you've said, viewers do check the rating before deciding whether they want to invest their time and emotions into a product or not. Though, truth be told, I think seasoned MDL residents have already grown rather sceptical about those figures in the box. For instance, some of my most beloved projects have under-8 ratings, and quite a few dramas I dropped midway are rated 8.7 and higher. So you never know.

I wonder what's wrong with the rating: why is it so low? 🤔 The drama is highly enjoyable, I'm liking it a lot, even though romance dramas are not typically my genre of choice, and as for the actors, it's the first time I see both of them. I mean, it is really sweet, like, Hidden Love-kind-of-sweet 🤍

Now, I'm not sure I understood the after credits scene? Is Bi Zhi working for the Time administration and remembers…
Most certainly, Bi Zhi remembers everything. He went to that bar on that very day on purpose to see Bei Lu. He seemed very happy to see Bei Lu. And, what's more important, he didn't seem discouraged by the fact that Bei Lu didn't recognize him or the circumstances. And they exchanged contacts, which apparently means that this time Bi Zhi doesn't intend to leave soon and is sure he will either be able to help Bei Lu remember what they have been through OR to create new memories together. I think, this ending is just perfect and it gives a huge opportunity for the second season, because they can basically repeat some of the tropes (thanks to Bei Lu's amnesia) and this repetition will be totally justified.

Can’t help saying this, but there is a big SPOILER in my comment. You’ve been warned.

One of the many subtle, yet truly beautiful things I loved about Ya She was Bi Zhi and Bei Lu’s last meeting before Bei Lu’s memory was wiped clean. Come to think of it, it was Bei Lu’s friendliness and sincerity when he portrayed Qing Zi Yi that made Bi Zhi cherish his friendship with Zi Yi and Zi Yi himself more. It’s a lovely parallel, which becomes visible only when you think about it a bit more: in the first episodes, Bi Zhi was drawn to Bei Lu only because he reminded him of an untimely lost friend; but, in fact, his special attitude to Qing Zi Yi was partly due to the fact that Zi Yi reminded him of Bei Lu. Love it, when they do things like this in stories about travelling in time.

I have just finished watching Ya She and I know I am not going to get over this wonderful project neither quickly nor easily 😍 It's a lovely story, beautifully told and enacted, visually pleasing, touching to the core and so full of hidden gems. Even the episodes some MDL residents called ''fillers'' were actually nice and in their own way enriched the plot by allowing us to know side characters a bit better, so that we do not concentrate exclusively on the mains, however incredible they may be. I think I would actually like another ''filler'' episode dedicated to Xiao Min, because we somehow do not get to learn more about her past ☺️ I seriously need Season 2 ASAP, as I am sure do many of the viewers. Please, Tencent, if you can hear me, give this show a Season 2 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Hi, guys! Excuse me, does anyone know, is this an original screenplay or an adaptation of a literary source? Thanks a lot in advance 🙏🏻

is this another case of mdl ratings being bad for no reason?Should i watch it?
Absolutely. I cannot explain the rating. The show is brilliant, the best I have seen in a long time: the relationship between the main characters is amazing, the plot is exciting (there is a general arch and minor sub-plots related to the artefacts, that the main characters are searching for), and the visuals are very tasteful. The show has some very good humour and also quite a number of really moving scenes. Probably the only things to keep in mind before starting to watch are: 1) so far there is no romance in the story, and I seriously doubt there will be a love story for it is really not needed here -- apart from the sub-plots, of course; 2) some sad scenes can emotionally trigger you, if you are susceptible to certain topics. And, apparently, if you've watched the donghua (I haven't, yet now I'm definitely planning to!), you can find it hard to accept LJK as Su Bei Lu, because it seems the showrunners have completely reimagined his character for a live action adaptation. I myself absolutely love him as Su Bei Lu and couldn't imagine any other actor playing this role, he's brilliant. Hope this helps ☺️

Have just finished episode 1 and, oh my, I'm so excited about this 🔥 Absolutely love the strong Doctor Who vibes 'translated' into the Chinese culture and setting. Used to be a huge DW fan as a kid, but haven't been following the series for quite some time (basically, after Capaldi left the show), so Ya She for me is both a bittersweet quasi-return to that universe as well as a bridge between what I used to love and what I currently enjoy 😍

Hi! I have just finished this drama and I think I can answer your questions. It seems to me, Natsu's mom knew…
Yes, totally agree with you. I also appreciated that the writer did not make the SFL simply put up with the ML's new circumstances, she indeed was given a choice. It's great because in many Asian dramas we get FLs who are just too forgiving, accepting, sweet to the point of seeming to have no personality or dignity at all.

Come on, even our Prince Yan Chi, experienced as he is, for the first time didn't look particularly cool about the sight of that body, but rather 🤢🤢🤢

Lol, sorry, somehow I tend to think that I'm one of the 'veterans' here and most MDL residents are significantly younger ☺️ As for your comment, I watched UnH in winter, so I don't exactly remember the details concerning Natsu's relationship with his second girlfriend... I guess he grew a bit older, was starting to think about the perspectives of creating a family of his own, so upon meeting someone he liked he wanted to be more decisive.

Hi! I have just finished this drama and I think I can answer your questions. It seems to me, Natsu's mom knew…
Well, it's perfectly normal: even though a lot of people like this title, it can't be everyone's cup of tea either. It's indeed sort of slow, although I would rather use the word 'contemplative.' It is also probably aimed at people of a certain age group, so younger viewers (late teens - mid 20s) might find it difficult to emotionally relate to the plot.
