Title Phantom Lawyer Spoiler
Literally only a few minutes into the first episode, and the discrimination against the ML is crazy? Like what do you mean you reject him a job offer, because his father supposedly did something bad 20 years ago? 😭

So this sounds too good - the cast is literally to die for. I hope it won't be disappointment, and if so, it will be because of bad writing and not bad acting. We all know that. STUNNING poster by the way, absolutely beautiful😭

Title Idol I Spoiler
is it still worth that watch tho ? i need honest opinion
Believe it or not, the investigation first started going places around ep 8 or 9. There weren't that many suspects either, so if you hadn't got spoiled that you would have figured it out on your pretty early. That part of the kdrama felt like a half-finished job which is ironic, given the fact that's literally about cracking a case and finding the real killer. It lacked the investigative "touch" in my opinion. There weren't enough trials - or if there were, we didn't watch them. We did not see enough of the FL attending to her lawful duties. Most of it was her sitting in her office, trying to figure everything out. So it was pretty passive in that scene - the mistery/law elements. However I am also being very subjective, as I'm solely vocalising my view on this kdrama. If you need something light, watch it. The FL is such a cute and great person, and I actually really loved the romance. So maybe the plot being weak was a blessing in disguise, because it was so easy watching it. It did not feel heavy at all.

Title Idol I Spoiler
Just finished watching this.

Soo Young truly outdid herself. She aced that role, and her acting was honestly superb. I did not see that coming at all. I was so pleasantly surprised with her acting. Her character was honestly why I watched the drama till the last episode. She was just a great person, in and out, and she conveyed that in such a simple way. She never did too much - she was true to herself and her principles. I also loved how she maintained her hobby, and how she was a fan of them even though she was with the ML. It was so cute to see her be just as obsessed as she was before she met La-Ik. She was a devoted and dedicated fangirl for sure!

As much as I dislike the prosecutor, it was nice to see him own up to his mistakes and take accountability. I feel like the FL got that closure that she needed. I kinda missed an apology from Jae-Hee. I feel like he owned La-Ik that.

As for the plot, I will say it was a little weak and had some holes. I would have appreciated to see more of the investigation and more of the backstory behind the FL's past. Considering the fact that most of the plot is about her taking his case, I don't feel like we got nearly as much intel as we should have. It felt rushed. I would have loved to see more of the process of her investigating, but everything kinda happened really quickly and fast-paced in my opinion. The SFL being the culprit wasn't anything special either tbh. There was no shock factor to be frank. I wouldn't go as far to say that the plot was messy, but it was most definitely lacking substance. It all felt very shallow and vague.

As for the ML, I loved how realistic his character was. We saw all of this flaws, and it was done in very natural way. He just felt like a very real person. Most times the male leads are green flags, and too good to be true, so it was a breath of fresh air to see a ML who seemed human. Like all of his emotions that were all over the place, and his actions that were reckless really added the "mundane" element about his role. That was done greatly.

The last episode showed how his fans were trying to protect his privacy, and I felt like the members in the group kinda appealed to the viewers, that the privacy of idols should be respected and protected - and that it is possible to achieve. It felt like somewhat of a message to fans. Maybe more like encouragement - that you know, idols are just as humans as the rest of the world.

I would have loved to see more scenes of our couple. But considering it's only 12 episodes, it makes sense that it would be hard to fit everything in.

So I give it a stable and nice 7.5:)

Side note: Chung Jae IS FINE AS HELL.

Can someone tell if the actor who plays Young Bin is from Seoul? He has an accent, kinda sounds like he's from Busan.

You're not wrong. I'm liking it but it is kind of slow and lackluster. I was expecting more so I'm a little bit…
I agree! It is not bad at all, just a little boring to me. I felt like the first episodes were really good, and then it kinda just got a little dull? There is some element missing, and I just can't put my finger on it. But great acting though:)

So I'm on ep 7. While I completely understand the ML's frustration and feelings of betrayal, I cannot help but think that he is being a little unfair. Even though the FL's intention was good, she still ended up hurting him, and she essentially concealed a big truth from him, and for that it is so fair for him to feel deceived. However, the FL did so much for him. She stood by his side solemnly and unwaveringly, and believed him. Whether that's because she's a fan of him or not, that still matters. I feel like he didn't even hear her out. Going to that interview with the prosecutor, and not notifying her wasn't okay. She has poured so much time and energy into his case, and he should at least respect that. He was lowkey ordering her around in the early episodes, but she still got through with it in order to help him. Her admiration for him didn't prevent her from doing her job. It is also clear, that she took this case because she genuinely feels that something isn't right. She made sure repeatedly times to see if he was being dishonest, or not. So she probably wouldn't proceed with defending him, if she thought that he is actually the killer. Just for that, he should go easy on her. Her connection to him isn't just from a fan side, it's from a personal side. And I feel like she put that aside in order to stay true to her job. Maybe it's just me who has this opinion.

One episode in, and I'm already heartbroken about the life of idols. I am aware that this is a piece of fiction, however I am so pretty sure that it depicts the real aspects of idol life as well. The whole saesang thing was so terrifying. Fans just trespassing and entering your home is genuinely crazy. Also the way fans feel entitled to know everything is very much real and beyond frustrating. That one fan was so scary!! It saddens me that the ML is actively saying he needs help in various ways, and that he wants live a simple life, and how he's basically just ignored and belittled. I cannot help but think that many idols face this, and how it's possibly connected to why we lose many idols😭 Btw I already HATE the CEO.

Korean doesn’t have two separate sounds for L and R the way English does. Instead, it has one single consonant,…
Thank you!

Guys, is his name "La-Ik" or "Ra-Ik" because here it's the first example, while it's the second on Netflix.
