But like you said, those petty people want to stay glorious and clean in viewer's minds.

Not really, bcs in the official trailer there are a lot of kiss scenes. Even the kiss in the bath scene appeared on tv before the drama aired. But then those kisses didn't appear on the show. Also the cutting is so choppy and sloppy. Everyone would know a kiss scene has been deleted.

Guys, the emperor is still alive bcs he is the main villain, not Yuwen Liangshi. He is the reason why Xiao Duo and Yinlou can't be free and they must get rid of him in order to be free.

The main couple isn't toxic at all. They are a perfect match. Both have the best brains in this drama and they help each other. However his love rival, the emperor is a possessive, intimidating, creepy stalker.
Xiao Duo didn't want to hear her excuses of pushing him away so he kissed her, then she bit his lips. Then after she gave in, they kissed again and consummated. It's on ep 25.
