Oh, I see. Thanks! Do you know when they are releasing season 2 for VIP? Is it when the get through releasing the 1st season episodes for the regular members?
I just want to say that the writers/production actually did a really good job adapting the novel (mostly from…
@krystalsoojungs I'm not a big fan of 'back-palace'/'inner court' dramas, so I haven't watched it. I used to watch a lot of them as a kid, but I think I've sort of grown out of them.
But is the novel with the same name? And is it translated? I might try reading it to see if I like the story enough to give the drama a try.

I completely understand what you mean. There's this element in c-novels that just can't be found in western books. At times like this, is wish I had listened to my parents and studied Chinese. T.T
I think the east asian concept of romance is more of the connection on the spiritual level and that's why they don't have as much skinship.
Have you read 'To Be A Virtuous Wife' yet? Very good novel, with good translations. Sometimes I wish it would be made into a drama but at the same time think that the drama would not be made well and let me down.
EDIT: Btw, Lu Zhen is a pretty good drama if you were debating on whether or not to watch it.

I read it before it was taken down due to the whole plagiarizing thing. I think there's a pdf file on scribd for the fan-translated version, though I remember that the translator skipped some parts that were not related to the main pairing (i.e. LJxSY, FJxDH parts). Just search for 'Three Lives, Three Worlds translation'.
I've heard that the official translated version 'To The Sky Kingdom' actually has a better translation though. It's available on amazon, but I'm waiting until my local library has copies available >.< There are so many people on the waiting list for it!
Also, I saw in earlier comments that you were going to watch 'General and I' and read 'A Lonesome Fragrance'. If you're going to watch the drama, watch it before you read the novel, or else you'll be let down because of high expectations. I think if I hadn't read the novel, I would have enjoyed the drama.

I personally think it has an open ending for QS & YWY.
Is this a trend in C-actors?
