I saw a melon today for historical drama starting filming next month w Li YiTong. He has filmed in the past but I think costume dramas are quite hard physically on the actors, maybe they like a break for a while. Lots of them complain about the wigs pull on their hairlines as well 🤭

Ugh it’s so exhausting. I genuinely cannot think of anyone else that receives the same level of hate as Kai does. What has he actually done that’s so bad? It’s all allegations with no evidence. If he was as bad as people make him out he wouldn’t have been able to be a torch bearer at the Asian Games in 2023. There are so many actors out there that aren’t nearly as good as Kai and people praise them to high heaven and if their drama flops it’s not that persons fault, they worked sooooo hard. Like Kai doesn’t? He’s good to his fans, polite, courteous and has a good temperament-better than many. I don’t get it. Then people say he’s a cheater and womanizer-proof? I actually know many cheaters and they are all pretty awful people. Very self absorbed, I don’t get those vibes from Kai. Obviously, I can only base my opinion on what I see and other people’s accounts of him but sometimes I read negative things that other people say about him and I wonder are you even talking about the same person? 😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨

This is why you should never believe anything you read without understanding the narrative behind it. Too often people just take things at face value and just accept what they’re being told. Like this awful witch who was selling her story about Kai in August. Why does what she has to say automatically become the truth? We personally don’t know what happened, if anything. Then She changes her story, tells another story and then deletes it and then like 4 months later she’s back running her mouth and people are still choosing to listen to her? She’s has no credibility but I still see people commenting like she’s a reliable source of information. This happens every single day, on any topic, anywhere in the world, there’s so much disinformation, conspiracy theories and just craziness. Just be careful how you consume content.

If Kai has dropped in Huanyu rankings then it probably does mean that he will not renew his contract. After all why would Huanyu promote someone who is on their way out? They will of course promote those who will still be around to make them money because at the end of the day that’s all that matters. If Kai is indeed leaving at the end of his contract period, expect that Huanyu will only be doing the bare minimum of contractural requirements for this first half of the year. Don’t be surprised if Kai doesn’t have a drama lined up after he finishes filming this current one.

Honestly, zero chemistry. Kai has had much better chemistry with other actresses. Throughout the drama I never felt there was any passion on Wu Zhens part. Kai could generate chemistry with a broom. TXW needs some work imo.

Exactly. The views on his dramas mean more than how many followers he has on social media. Followers is only a measure of how many people on SM are engaged online. I’m sure many people follow multiple actors so it’s not even an accurate reflection.

What kind of follower growth are you looking for? Many actors have less followers on Weibo. Other popular actors are also not having exponential growth on Weibo. There’s a saturation point where they’re probably not going to have explosive growth after a certain point. Does followers on Weibo equate to tangible benefits?
The types of dramas that are popular in China are often not the dramas that are popular overseas ex . FIYS. I don’t think Moonlit Reunion would have been an explosive drama in China if what happened with Kai hadn’t happened. The storyline had many issues which made it not as good as it could have been. Compared to other Tencent dramas this year that got high popularity , the storyline was nowhere near as good as PoB or The Glory imo. I think Kai did a fine job on his acting in the drama but not a strong story due to editing choices. They really wasted him in that drama. 😕
