I love serious things, i hate comedy and fairytales. That's why I only watch cdramas. they are more realistic, serious even with the comedy genre. realistic. I hate forced happy ending and China never does it. If a drama is made to destroy you, I want to be destroyed, not a forced happy and unrealistic ending.

I HATE comedy. That's why kdramas are shallow and bad, before like now. They are too unserious I can't take them seriously. And more, they allow p*rn which disgust me. They have always been the worst with unworthy success.
China has no fantasy, wuxia and fantasy are considered historical in China because they are based on Daoism ideals.

Agree with this point. In the kdrama he is fool and unserious, he loves her but he is too much of a playboy. Here he seens Yijun as a trophy. The remake points out as his nature as someone wanting to climb in society but still intelligent, in the kdrama he has no intelligence...

As always, I am analysing each episode pointing at those important frames, dialogues, scene which are meaningful to properly learn what the drama conveys as a message, comparing to the original.
Episodee 17. I want to highlight two important things representing the inner core of the two rival male characters. At the meeting board, Gu Chen is moving his hand tapping on the desk, looking before crossing his arms. A sign of intelligence, confirmed while he nods some seconds later: he is predicting in that moment the plan won't go smoothly. When Jiang Jiaqi is selected, he is late to put a light smile, stopping just a second after. He remembers the fight is still ongoing, this show a more calm attitude compare to Gu Chen. In the original, the contrast is superficial ( a playboy and a faithful man), the remake deepens to every possible extent this rivalry not only limited at the workplace or "love rivals". Those are important things in the episode and in the whole plot to notice.
Gu Chen likes to manipulate at a psychological level, he is more than a simple playboy. I like that in the remake he has his own depth, not to justify him but for making him more real and not monodimensional. His envy is better shown here.
Yijun is understanding how she probably ruined quite everything.
Brother's romance show something people always forget: words are like a blade, they can hurt. Taking responsibility is what every man should always do. The actress incarnates another side of the message of the series: even if you fall, you can stand up again without giving up. Tons of characters are fighting in their own way, starting from Chen which is the most controversial and Zhang Xincheng has added depth. He is not a bully in a pure sense, but he is torn between feelings of caring and hatred. I love how each episode highlights depth. This drama is intense and depressed as it should be.
Episode 18. I want to point out something. When the scene focuses on the female coworker being at the desk, in the background there is part of the set of "Empresses in the Palace" characters released in China in 2023 ( very famous and featuring in "Everyone loves me" drama too). The drama was a huge hit in 2012 and still one of the most famous in China, particularly among young women.
I want to highlight the first time Yijun dares to make it clear to Jiaqi that they can't understand each other at all, he is still wavering but she opened her heart to him.
Chen is more physical threatening than Gu Chen, but he is more obsessed in a very negative way, divided between past and present at different degrees.
The brief dialogue at Galaxy Tavern s something adults can relate to. "There is no love, thats' why we are cold, we don't care about others, we don't care about ourselves. We keep living like this".
When you are young, too young, you want to be an adult legally thinking " I can do what I want".
But the more you age, the more you discovers that being adult is being able to choose between what to do and not to do, taking aside what we want. Life is a compromise made of difficult roads in which we struggle and bleed, but always keep going on.
Yijun is great in this episode, and the gloomy atmosfere of Chongqing at night adds the feelings of remorse and sadness she has. The little glimpse of light from the windows does not shine on her so much because she know her guilt. Perfectly realised on screen.
The fighting between Jiaqi and Chen shows the difference between being stable and morally perfect, and being a fool. Chen is totally cr**zy at this point, even with some questionable feelings trasformed into gross rationality.
I like how som tips in each episode can be a deeper understanding, since this is exactly Jiang Jiaqi and Chu Tong represent about Zhiyuan.

i'm an avid cdrama only watcher since 2014, i took my distance from kdramas almost immediately because i can't take them seriously

when kdramas have not been bad? lol i don't remember any 10/10 kdrama, they always have too much flaws

This is why this remake is superior to the original. Conveying emotions and feelings is what an actor and a drama should have as mandatory

people avoiding it are only petty that this remake is overshadowing the remake because it's way far superior in terms of acting, plot development, character introspection and message conveyed. kdrama fans are too petty and obsessed. Don't mind them.

The only official confirmation is 4th and 8th, the other character are speculations from the trailer. Agree with you about Fourth and Phuwin. I bet on Perth 10th, Force 9th and Tay Crown Prince. GMMTV officially stated that this will be based on Chinese original 2005 novel ( and the 2011 revision) so Chinese original 2011 drama, even though adapted in Thai history.

kdramas always made me bored, too long it's a torture 60 minutes or more for each episode... i almost abandoned them as soon as i started with cdrama in 2014. I watch mostly because of remakes if it happens, but no more kdramas for me. I prefer avoiding western style series, and kdramas are too westernised since the very beginning, it's not recent of with netflix.

people tend to avoid cdramas because they can't be openminded. Watching cdramas is not having prejudices or western values, it's a whole new world different from the one you used to live. That's why I watch only them now

Her original intent has already shifted and she has subtly made it clear with Gu Chen, in a sense. It's only because she is still quite balacing in order to gain money that she has still some bond with him

China does not make fantasy, they are based on Daoism. But i can understand you, I don't watch kdramas anymore because they are too lighthearted, no seriousness and the acting is terrible. China does not have fantasy, historical xianxia are considered historical because they based them on Daoism ideal, not on fairytales.
You should give more than a try, they are far superior than any kdrama

BECAUSE THIS is the only right way to proper making dramas. Post production needs time, not a few months. and sorry, i love "censorship" which is control, not censorship which does not exist in China.
Kdramas can't cope with China, because they are not able to create dramas. My mister is an example of how bad they are.
If you like weak characters in drama is ok, in the original i would have everyone d****ad as they deserve because weak people should not exist in dramas, that's why i take distance in real life. Weak characters are not for me, and you can't prove to me they are strong when there is comedy

i engaged through the analysis, and the original has only weak characters. they are not strong like in the remake, this makes the original inferior. i won't change either, never. kdramas always have weak characters, why should i like them? stay petty when China is far superior
