Not sure why you think ML's character is more nuanced than JU when he barely steps out of his bubble of laziness…
We seem to be talking about the same issues again. Like I said before, i never said CW is dumb or JU is an angel. I was merely saying we have been shown multiple facets of JU's personality - drive to succeed, yearning for love, guilt, envy etc. On the other hand all we are shown of CW is he loves to do nothing and runs away from everything. He pushes forward with YS but with no obvious goal to get her back. So borrowing from ryangarryleung's response, CW maybe romantically conflicted with YS but there isn't much else shown to understand what drives his decisions whether in career or personal life.

It looks like we seem to have similar opinion but from a different perspective. My point was that we were not given much insights into his personality. Him being lazy was not a conclusion I drew myself but was pointed out by all the characters including CW himself. Same with his drawing, other than representing the building well we are not offered much insight into what his thoughts or mood were when he was drawing them. On the other hand we were shown more glimpses of JU's thoughts and emotions behind the decisions he make. So I am surprised that people can read more into CW's personality than I could when all he was shown to do was sleep and draw until now. Even when he kissed YS, I did not see much reflection from him regarding his actions.
That being said, let me be honest and appreciate the fact that your verbiage certainly has more clarity than what I have said.

I did not "shit on CW" as you put it. I just described his character as I saw it. The OP asked why people like JU more than CW and I responded to that. I did not make any claims that i thought needed backing up??

I didn't say he is dumb, just lazy and lacks any aspirations in life. It is a lot of effort to teach him and pull him into college just so theu can be together. That kind of relationship can get boring and draining for the other partner pretty quick. Of course, in this case he is probably well suited for YS considering they are both not very social and she has enough aspirations for the both of them.
On the other hand, we have seen JU playing basketball with other students even in highschool and asks CW to join and he declines. So no, it is not just his career. I did not get what you mean by keeping tabs, all i said was CW their own son, being an adult never once steps up and helps the parents in anything. JU seems more like a responsible adult to me.

Oh and I think it was his luck that pushed him into close contact yeon su helping them know each other and fall in love. Without the documentary, i doubt CW would have ever gone out and seeked a relationship with yeon su. And the same for her.
The SML, to be very honest, is someone I would dislike in real life (which I think puts me in the narrow corner…
Not sure why you think ML's character is more nuanced than JU when he barely steps out of his bubble of laziness and the only thing he ever does well is drawing. And that too mostly buildings and trees with no emotions captured in his paintings. I hope they have an explanation for this in future episodes. Also JU only said he is envious of his friend but he has never harmed him until now. On the contrary, he helps his parents, supports his friend, makes sure he exercises, eats and whatnot. Just because he is envious does not mean he is conniving. He seems to genuinely care for his friend from what i have seen so far.
The baggage from the past, carried by both Yeonsu and Ung are unfolding and one cannot help but notice the amount…
YS has sol-i to rely on. She just chose not to. No matter what her baggage was, it was cruel on her part to dump him without even giving him a reason. Just a "sorry, goodbye" after 5 years and no explanation? That's not baggage, that's arrogance. She took him for granted.
JU is a far better character compared to YS in my opinion. He remains a dependable son to CW's parents even more so than their own and a reliable friend to CW whenever he needed a friend. His only flaw is liking the his friend's girl.
What a waste of an episode or the last 4 episodes, should i say? Please do something to move the story along, this is going at a snail's pace. There is too much moping around and internal monologuing by all characters.
I agree Yeonsu should take the initiative now.. but you know, in a real life scenario too, that guilt of having…
Hard as it maybe, it is the right thing to do. Her wanting to hear the words of love from him was stupid. He was practically a puppy following her around everywhere. And even she wanted to, she couldn't even ask him straight about it after 5 years of dating?
You think so? That's not really what Yeon Soo is like. I doubt she would use his feelings. She may be cold, but…
She may not be heartless but her decisions are driven by the chip on her shoulder and her wanting to be in control of the relationship. Ji ung seems to be similar to her in that aspect and IMO that spells disaster for a romantic relationship between the two. . Whereas on the other hand CW is happy to relinquish all control and to just follow her lead.
Why is everyone so surprised with the possibility of love triangle? There is not much else to keep this story…
@Natourei Exactly!! It is a necessary conflict at this point since it got nothing else going on. But also, while I understand the sentiment of not going for a bf's ex, I also sympathize ji ung's character. She was not his friend's gf when he started liking her, in all fairness. He could have been the one to confess first and this story could have gone differently. Nevertheless, he hesitated and hence paid the price for it. Kudos to him for sticking with his friend during the relationship and post break up too. If CW is going to make a mess of his relationship with her, ji ung might as well take a chance and let the chips fall where they do. Ultimately, it is up to YS if she accepts his feelings or not and that determines the future dynamics between the 3. At least there will be enough angst for the next 7 episodes sorting through that mess lol.
Why is everyone so surprised with the possibility of love triangle? There is not much else to keep this story alive for another 7 episodes. Seeing as they already used up different career aspirations, grandmother health, studying abroad and multiple mini breakups - i don't know what other plot device/conflict can they use to keep the tension between the leads going? Or they could bring them together already and have 7 hrs of some cute and fluffy scenes but that could get repetitive and boring pretty soon. This drama is already dragging, I guess the only question remaining as of now is if our leads will get a happy ending.
I'm getting this strange feeling yoonso will accept ji ung love proposal and will date him for next few episodes
Yup. I actually hope they do and I hope ji-ung finally realizes she is not exactly girlfriend material and only a doormat like CW can put up with her. Those two deserve each other.
