Damned, I truly love that song 幸逢你 (Fortunate to Have Met You). So beautiful and so well put in the drama. ❤️ I have the blind hope that those two will not end at the throat of each other. Can I dream ? 🥲
Like many of her dialogues, this one rubbed me the wrong way too, but I chose to ignore it because I was tired…
tired, It's not about gender we already said it. It about story. ML or FL I don't care. I will watch how the story unfold, so yes even a man in this situation who will say this after 30eps with a good storytelling is also acceptable. Story matter, not gender.

It's more accurate to see this character saying such things here than in Legend of female general for example, and I do agree with you on the low effort about her character in this drama while in this one, I can't agree with you. . Some will of course call that a trend, but for people like me who have read rare books of history of women in China, I call that "finally they are awake when writing". Not all women are the same, so why we shall always have the same typical women on screen ? And if something new arise, already labelled it by selfish and whatever... maybe there is a mechanical process ( education or societal) people need to understand before jumping to labels. It's not being fan or her or not ( on my side at least), it's just being cultivate about woman and the way people ( men and women) easily erase them under " selfish" behavior label, "it just again a strong FL pretention" while we get the chance to see another kind of representation more bold, more accurate with many women doing thing in order to survive, to get what they want and just be more audacious on screen. Seeing people having no critical thinking about this matter ( whatever the drama is) is exhausting.
It's to cater to the fantasies of most female viewers. Apparently, mistreating the ml is romantic. I'm currently…
True I was about to respond the same thing. Yeah and they respond to each other accordingly. The start of the drama is pretty good to catch attention on their relationship. It is not mistreatment, it is brutal encounter and again it is fictive. But it's better than in Shadow Love, (while I do like the drama) in Fated Hearts there was no scene of "almost r*pe the great female general". They are both animate by harsh emotions and balanced desire of equivalent force. I don't want to watch a drama about generals that just take tea watching each other in the eyes and wait dying by who poison the other one first x) Better watching equivalent power boucing towards each other equally. There is no "gender" at the beginning of the story, except in the eyes of us, viewers. That make the story more accurate. And by the way the filming of the beginning was pretty great. I wonder if people do watch drama carefully 🤔
Dragon probably just appeared. He’s a spirit companion so not someone JBZ would randomly find in a wild.
It pleasant to imagine he was here to help him relieve the pain and anger. It's coherent with the way he always behave, so protective. Truly meaning of the companion.
Off topic a bit: There are quite a few dramas that just started airing, what are you watching during downtime…
I started Whispers of Fate. I really love one the song of the ost, the beautiful 念水谣 (Ballad of Yearning Water) - 吴翊之 (Wu Yizhi). Also started Blood River, and waiting impatiently for Fight for Love 🤗 Anyone can tell me how is Sword and Beloved for now ?
