Duan forcefully taking off ShuHe's royal robes was hella symbolic. He felt that the way ShuHe keeps clinging to…
I don't see it that way. I see it as He knows that Shu he keep clinging to his throne while he don't like it, he fear that life and Duan knows it and hate to feel that fear in him, which chang himself. Remember Duan already says he knows when Shu He lies. But Shu He is scared to admit he failed his kingdom for love, admit he want to be free so he is running away from him because he feel he has to cling to something else to feel safe, so he cling himself to the hate and illusions of a robbed past by power. The fact he pushed him on the throne was very symbolic and pleasant. The performance here was full of meaning. Shu He was worried when Duan coughed. It was quick but full of meaning. Now that Shu he do not have the burden of the robe anymore, maybe he will calm himself and see clearer deep inside him, far away from the feud between kingdoms, just allow himself to feel safe. I don't see Duan say something like Shu He "belong" to him, he would already had say it. He want only him but not possess him. He wants him feel safe with him, and him feel safe with Shu he too. that's why he build a new home for him like the one he has, to go back to this quiet life they had. My... they need a therapist :p But that's just my opinion ^^
Finally caught up. I wanted to wait all episodes but i'm happy I didn't and at the same time i'm sad to wait now x) Pretty interresting development and some nice tender scenes. The ost is good too ! We see also improvment in each episode acting. Their love among turmoils is genuine and I realy like that. I'm impatient to see how they will reconnect with each other beyond misunderstandings. Now I hope for a happy ending and not just a typical tragic death for gay couple, even if historical ref is tragic.
Drama may not satisfy everyone, but to me it did. Everyone has their own tastes, but if you aren't going to finish…
Yeah the wait was so loong T_T I do agree with you. I'm not a fan after i finished it,I have my opinion, but anyway it can find it's public. I don't care about the ratings, as you said everyone has it's own taste, and this one fall far mine in terms of female writing character. But for a nice romance, enjoyable with a cup of tea, it's fine. :)
Well I'm a bit disappointed... I wanted more brotherhood with her and the member of the army, more amazing fights screen time and more screen time for her doing things other than romance oriented stuff. The few war scene with her were too much made for the "amazing" purpose, less to really make them enjoyable. I was like " hum too short, and too unrealistic even for a "legend"story ". Fighting for Love do a better job at it for example. :/ I speed watched episodes after He discovered she is a women, because it was too romantic oriented. There were a lot of speech, a lot of words but less actions. All the drama for me was a showcase of "woman can do" "woman can be" in terms of speech, but when they need to write events of the story it lacked on this spot. Except for few moments in all episodes, in writing it speak for itself when we see that : they forget the rule "show, don't tell." I rather see woman act, following their belief on screen and few speech to convey role models. As the representation of women in drama is a very interresting topic for me, maybe because I watched too many drama with important female role, so I expected a better written female warrior after the trailer, maybe it was too much to expect. The actress is good but not the writing behind. *sad* But if you come for a simple romance, then this is a pleasant moment anyway :)
