Just wondering is putting Kieta Hatsukoi in the list is wise since it is still airing. Some dramas tend to drop…
I know... I think it's a MDL glitch. When I started the list, it was not there. Then when I double-checked before submitting the article, it was there. Now it's not there again. The top rank dramas usually don't include the currently airing or upcoming, though the top rated dramas do. That's why I added Koi wa Tsuzuku yo Doko Made mo that is number 11. Though I'm pretty sure when it finishes airing it may still be there because of the high ratings, unless the ending is really bad that drops the ratings immensely, lol.
the school that "According to school regulations, both club must complete the task of matching 50 pairs of lovers within 100 days" must be a fun school to go, LMAO
i havent watched many jdramas but brooo i love 3 Nen A Gumi: Ima kara Mina-san wa, Hitojichi Desu so much and…
I watched 3 Nen A Gumi not too long ago to write an article about (not this one, another one). Never thought I was amazed by this school drama, cos usually I'm not too interested with the sub-genre. Yeah, it really deserves the high rating ;D
Wow timely article MDL!Netflix Unveils Huge Expansion of Japanese Content, Greater Emphasis on Feature Filmshttps://variety.com/2021/global/asia/netflix-expansion-of-japanese-content-1235107911/This…
Wow... thank you for the article link! That's indeed a good news
Hello! Thanks a lot for this article, it was an interesting read, especially for the historical part. I've seen…
Thank you, Sumi, for stopping by! I don't mind long posts, as they indicate the enthusiasm of the commenters ;D. It has been discussed in the comments below about the possibility of a glitch on Kieta Hatsukoi, as the top ranked list only includes completed shows, not currently airing ones. Although I'm not surprised if after it's finishing date on December 11, it will still be on the top 10 rank unless the rating goes down.
I actually was looking for historical doramas, as I rarely find them. As I guess, probably because of the costly production. A commenter recommended me In This Corner of the World (only 9 episodes), which I think I will try after watching dramas I want to make CW articles on ;D.
Same as you, I am also eyeing Mare, honestly only because of Tsuchiya Tao and Yamazaki Kento are in it. Not sure it will be materialized or not. If yes it will be the first asadora I will ever watched, lol.
I was honestly surprised by most popular drama list. i mean i knew these were like legendary titles that were…
I know right! I also didn't expect that HYD would be that popular, even both dramas are up there. I was surprised with Itazura na Kiss cos I think the story is so old school type of romance, lol.
definitely love the fact that jdramas have fewer episodes and therefore don't tend to drag as much. i've always…
"preachy"? Hm... don't really notice that, are they probably in slice-of-life genre dramas? And here I thought Chinese dramas are already preachy with their propaganda...
Yeah the list was made about a week before today, on the date I submitted the article, and actually for span time…
I don't think BL is the problem cos 30-sai made Dotei Da to Mahotsukai ni Nareru rashii is on the top popular list. Besides, there are BL dramas on the top 10 in other countries too. I think the problem might be in the episode numbers or airing date system that messes up the ranking.
Thanks for compiling and writing this article! Just a note though that Sanada Taiheiki is not a Taiga Drama, but…
Oh no!!! I'm sorry about that! Yeah I saw the tag there (cos I put the 'taiga' in the tag/theme search filter). I should've double checked it with Wikipedia or Taiga Forum on MDL. Oh well... that's the difference between you (a real dorama lover) and me (a newbie)...

Yeah, I go there too to check if I miss a show cos I usually put 2021 dramas first as the priority PTW. But I don't see it either. Was the airing date changed recently? You know usually if MDLers are not sure of the exact number of episodes either was put as 1 episode or number of episodes can change later. That's probably messes up the MDL system, or you can just create a ticket in the Forum's support asking about it?

Hmmm, interesting... Yeah when I first made the list it was not there... then when I rechecked the list again it was there. Now I just checked it's not there. MDL system is quite confusing for me honestly, especially how they rank dramas/movies ;D
