Once a week I try to clear up the oldest dramas in my PTW list, and Boss and Me is in my PTW list I have to clear up soon cos it's from 2014. Is the video quality good?

I love this article! This reflects the strengths of Chinese dramas. Imo China produces the best historical and…
I think Hengdian Studio provides outfits and martial arts intructors, one that Korean or Japanese doesn't have.

I have never heard of Pushing Hands before. What is the story?

I don't watch a lot of Republican dramas, but I know for sure Arsenal Military Academy doesn't kill the MC (though…
What I mean with amazing bromance is the entire crew of students and teachers in the academy have very strong friendship. No bromance partner dies.

No need to pinky promise cos I watched it lol! I assure you the four main leads don't die, but a few supporting characters do. You'll feel sad of course, cos you grow to love the supporting characters too. Their bromance is AMAZING.

Once We Get Married? That's a brand new one, right? How is it?
Yeah, I know AvenueX raves about it. I will watch it when it's done subbing. Probably it will be like Forever Love. Predictable story but unexpectedly good.

Sorry I didn't think Chinese Republican dramas are actually on high interest so I only put top 5 of them. Here…
Do you know from which Poirot stories the drama will based on? I read a lot of Agatha Christie's novel, one of my favorite authors. When I was a kid a read a lot of detective and adventure novels/comics and I don't understand how I changed genres to romcoms now, lol. The CoM... how's the ending? As long as they don't kill the main character I will think about it ;D.

sorry... I can relate with you... I have a lot of 10 rated dramas too! I'm a generous rater, lol. It's interesting…
No worries... I apologize I questioned your list. It's all subjective to the watchers. I too have dramas I rated highly that others think they're bad.

This is a well-written article, good job. :) "Historical C-drama watchers rather see flying people with supernatural…
Sorry I just made that ""Historical C-drama watchers rather see flying people with supernatural powers" phrase for a fun comparison to modern dramas, but I do understand that there are differences in 'historical' Cdramas. In fact, I think in China people don't call the fantasy ones historical but costume dramas (not sure what the Chinese term is). Is that right?

I'm glad to hear this. Can you imagine you're a writer and they just contact you to use your novel then give you a wad of cash. Of course with a contract they have the right to change things from the novel. Later on you see the drama and things are changed not to your liking? I think I'll be upset, lol.

My number 1 is JOY OF LIFE. Rest are junk in my opinion. May be average. Some of the ratings are from fan base.…
When I was thinking to watch JoL I actually thought I should wait for the sequel, cos I'm not good with cliffhanger ending. Couldn't wait tho! Now I'm impatiently waiting for the sequel. Not sure why took the so long? I guess they're waiting for Zhang Ruo Yun's schedule to clear up. Too bad I think Xiao Zhan may not come back cos now he's super popular means super expensive to cast, lol

Nirvana in Fire should be no. 1, The Best drama, Hugh Hu acting took it to a different level.
Are you waiting for NIF 3? It will start filming next year I think, the same team will make it. Not sure about same casting or not, no news yet.

since you like MRIAD and waiting for the upcoming ones, maybe you and I are waiting together for MRIAD 2? It says not a sequel but same detective genre, same era, and same two leads Leon Zhang and Hu Yi Tian. Speaking of HYT, I'm looking forward to him in See You Again, also a Republican Era drama but with time traveling. HYT looks good in those Republican era suits! Let's hope the censorship doesn't mess up with this cos they usually are not kind with modern fantasy dramas...

Yeah i understand where you are coming from but its the act of consolidating a sibling-sibling relationship between…
Since you mentioned Go Ahead in the other article, yeah they were raised as siblings. I mean the dads probably told them (I don't remember the details it's been a while watching the drama) to call each other brother and sister. That's why the drama makes a 9 year separation and the boys go live with their real families so when they meet again they feel like strangers than siblings. Not sure, is this one an adaptation from a novel?

Regarding number 8. I haven't seen anyone wrote a compilation article on detective/crime dramas on MDL before. There is someone actually claimed to write an article about best crime/detective/thriller about it.

I am reading Chinese Novels, but haven't watched any drama so far. Interesting to see that those novels are now…
Hmmm... I don't know... I read a lot of comments when some novels are adapted into dramas there are changes that are not necessarily in favor of people who already read the novels. It's because of the Chinese censorship they have to tweak the plots. I guess if you want to watch an adaptation, don't give a high hope it will faithfully follow the original work.
