what is the first Cdrama are you watching now?

me too actually, I hate cliffhanger so I always wait until it's completely subbed. Though lately to write recap article I have to watch while it's currently airing or finished but no subbed yet. I can watch raw version without even understand the dialogue. But with so many dramas watched, the story becomes predictable, lol

Oh ok... so it's around 1950-1990. Wow, yeah that's not too many. Yeah, I tend not to watch those kind of drama. Not sure why, probably those drama genres are mostly slice-of-life genre or business which I'm not interested in. I mean Republican Era maybe is more suspenseful.

Yes I do the same, too. But that only works if we watch a drama that is completed, as MDLers added characters in and hopefully Wikipedia has info for popular dramas. If we want to watch currently airing drama probably need to look for info in the comment section, lol.

There should be the third season of EN, if it's according to the novel. I read rumors production will start in 2022. Who knows, probably they don't want to hurriedly film it. I think they learnt from S2 that flops because they change a lot of actors including ML. Besides, the production company changed too. As you know with the JoL, the team waited for a long time until they finally announced filming in 2022. With Covid, the schedule changed and if they want to cast certain actors they will have to wait.

I think the "heroes and villains are clearly defined" has something to do with the censorship. I mean in C-dramas there won't be bad people leave free in the end of the drama (unless it's an open ending leads to a sequel), the crime is punished. Possibly in other country bad people are just forgiven, or even the protagonists are bad or grey characters.

I read the Ever Night novel here (actually the title is called Night Fall)

Sorry, I actually don't read Chinese novels, only was curious with the ending of Ever Night and Joy of Life so I skim-read them, especially the last ones to see how they end because both dramas are still ongoing. So I don't know others that are translated into English.

Wow you got lot of work ahead of you, haha. Before MDL, I used to make a table using MSWord to keep track what I watched. Luckily not too long I discovered MDL or it will be too much work to move the list from PC to this site. It was around 50 dramas/movies at that time. I like the Notes feature on each watch list where I can write down things connected to each drama.

I'm glad my article is helpful to you... I don't watch Ice Fantasy, isn't it the main character dies or something? I don't remember but that's probably why I don't watch it, despite I like characters with white hair ;D

oh ok... that is Matt's article, I only helped him with visual design. A MDLer asked if he can make others, he only watches Kdramas so he talks about them only. I watch a lot of Cdramas so I followed up the inquiry with this article. I will also write an article like this on Jdamas next.

Honestly I don't watch it, I dropped it in the first few episodes cos I think it's boring. How is it popular I don't know... the visuals of the actor/actress probably? Yang Yang is the most popular C actor on MDL

Yeah I'm sure there are a lot of MDLers who have similar experience like you have watched Kdramas for a long time that they can see the changes and if they adjust with the changes or watch other countries. Let me know if you need help on how to write articles on MDL. I have helped two other writers with layout design/pics only so I don't need to be credited for the content.

OMG 8 times... lol. She must've loved it so much. Did she try other xianxia like that? I think something like Ancient Love Poetry with several life times probably similar to EL.

I think TEL2 is not as popular as TEL because people were kinda disappointed with the fact instead of the couple have their adventure in the modern world, like how TEL ends, they goes back to the ancient world and the story is kinda copied.

Wow, you should write an article with the topic of Kdramas changes thru the years! To educate youngsters like us. It has been several time I browse past articles from the oldest to the newest for my series MDL Article Revisited, but I have never read an article like that on MDL.

lol... thanks for the award! I'm glad you like it. Wow I'm surprised all dramas you watched are your favorites. You know sometimes we pick a drama since like the beginning but then end badly, or not drag in the middle. Then the drama is no longer favorite ;D

I also dropped L020 and ALSB and don't watch GGS, but I'm just curious about your observation on drama pre-2020. I was born in dramaland mid 2019 so in 2020 I started watching all 2020 releases then this year too. I haven't watched many dramas of any country from 2019 and before. They are still in PTW list. So your insight is interesting and I will take that into consideration when I clearing up my PTW list ;D
