Just my opinion: The main storyline, acting, mistery idea, character, love it. but sorry, i freaking HATE the…
Really? I thought it made perfectly sense for the story to end like that. In fact I got the feeling while watching it that that's how it would end. I disagree that he meant nothing to people and no one knew his sacrifice. That's quite the opposite of what happened, Nut never forgot him and neither did his friends. But after watching it I got why people hate the ending, every time a drama doesn't have a perfectly conventional "butter commercial happy ending" it's the same thing. Which is a pity since this BL is such a great story but as you said people won't recommend because they can't deal with the ending.
Yeah I clocked it this time straight away. A little more noticeable this time around but I also take the view…
Just out of curiosity ,the version in IQIYI is the cut one? The uncut is just from the MeMind channel? Also do you know if this is aired in GMM25 too? If so they have a cut version?

Sorry if my comment came out strong, sometimes it gets lost in translation but that was not my intention. I asked about the ostensibly straight because so many times (even here) people will associate personalities or just how they present in general as being "straight" when it's just a bunch of stereotypes. Now after you explained I understood what you meant in the first comment and it makes more sense!

Well, I don't know about the others (Intouch we don't get enough time to even get to know him that much unfortunately) but Nuea says pretty much directly to Toh that he's been with both men and woman before.
Of course it's satire, from the first minute to the last this is absolutely obvious and leaves no room for any doubt...lol Well it is fiction so definitely a fantasy, I mean is there any romance story which isn't? I don't think it's very realistic that vampires go to high schools and date teenage "not like other girls" girls or princes marry commoners they met on the street, etc, etc, etc. To be honest most average looking, bland, run of the mill men don't usually end up with the hot supermodel girl but it hasn't stopped straight men making it happen in every single movie. So I'd say the "queens" have as much right to fantasy as any other person. Only thing I don't get is the "ostensibly straight jocks"....what is it about them that is straight? I would love to know. I mean I might be wrong here but I would think that getting it on with other men isn't very straight but who knows!
I'm enjoying this series well enough, but I'm confused...It seems that the series (based on true stories, or at…
Well I agree with what everyone already said here but I'd like to add that the entertainment industry is like that all around, not just BL. Nothing probably compares to Hollywood even. So we would have to stop engaging with every kind of media in this case. What I think can be done is first be aware of how things are done, fandom reaction when this kind of cases emerge is also important. Supporting productions, actors, management, shows that have a good history, etc it's not perfect but it can have a long term effect.
This show is the kind where I didn't mind when they got together because since the beggining the couple has so many good interactions that build their relationship.
Watch on the official channel of idol factory for the uncut version!!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5HE76aE6uqo&t=2s&ab_channel=IDOLFACTORYOFFICIAL…
Well many scenes that are deemed more spicy are cut in the TV version which for some reason ended up on those sites. I only realized that after many people came here to comment how after watching everything they found out they had been watching the cut version!
This is why I'm not on FB or Twitter, bl fans can become annoying. It's been clear from the start that it's AyanAkk.…
Definetely!! My comment wasn't necessarily an answer to yours but more a reflection on the issue. How these notions are pushed to us and then we identify people and behaviors based on these tropes and stereotypes. That's why media representation is so important (even if the media itself is a product of society in general and it's beliefs) and can have a huge impact in how people relate to so many things. Like the other comment above us said many people get mad if they see something that challenges the perception they have of what person should have what role (based on their looks or actions) and to me that is a problem (when it get to this level). That's why I like that recently we are seeing more shows subverting expectations regarding couples and I think it's good because more diversity is always good. But I agree that it takes a lot of time for us to break away from something that's always been pushed to us as "how things are". I'm also guilty of that, of course, but that's also why I find it interesting when shows choose to challenge us and our expectations!

The thing is there's no such thing as "looking like a top". Now, of course there's tropes and stereotypes (who exist in society as much as in fiction) that associates some behaviors or looks with sexual roles (all seem as set in stone) but those are nothing more than that tropes and stereotypes. Thankfully we see some pushback to this notion and we get more shows (and people) questioning the validity of these roles.
I don't get your point to be honest. You're trying to downplay something that is obviously about gender non conforming people and the uniforms (which are gender based) they must wear, which is a very big issue in Thailand. They also use gender non conforming language too but you still want to say "oh a uniform is just a uniform" nothing about it, it's just overanalyzing? lol I think you are the one trying to cope with what the show is clearly telling in the narrative and I don't get why.
Hope this will resolve all of their issues and will make their friendship stronger.
"think the fan meeting was an acting gig?" I mean of course it's acting and scripted, it's a show! but it also doesn't me it can't be somewhat genuine (the last part between them of course). If that was purely scripted acting they both deserve Oscars. It's pretty easy to get emotional on events as these, or shows being presented with your whole journey, all the public watching, the pressure, their work to get there, etc. So I don't find it hard to think they were overwhelmed and their words are more or less legitimate. Since the fight was public I don't find it weird they should discuss it publicly also because people will forever speculate about their relationship from now on (no matter what they do) and we will never know what really happened or happens between them. I don't think it's that deep, with or without a fight everything an actor, celebrity, kpoper, etc does in public is a performance (even if they are the best of friends in private what is shown to the public is still a performance). I mean it's their work before everything. So I'll say, let's just enjoy the show (and what a show they gave!) since that's what matters anyway. For the rest? Well it's for them and the people around them to worry about!
I don't know what they're serving at Craft Services in Thailand, but why would they have anything that causes…
Well I don't know in Thailand but in Brazil it's pretty common to go to the hospital when you get food induced diarrhea or a stomach bug lol But it's true dramas like to overstate medical stuff too and make a lot out of a little like people getting colds after two drops of rain.
I can't agree with your - "graduates from this genre into other genres because he can really deliver" - you make…
Oh please stop with the nonsense, "the idea of BL is blablabla....". BL as with any other genre is ever evolving, it is not stuck forever to be just one thing forever. Besides that, the definition itself is not as clear cut as you seem to think (I won't even get into the reductionist view you have). But anyway all of this is irrelevant because Nuchy, the director and creator of Not Me and both of her writers (also everyone involved in the project) refer to the show as BL (do you think they don`t know what their own show is?). GMMTV produced it as part of their BL set up and marketed as a BL with their other BL shows (if it got little marketing it doesn't change this fact whatsoever). You can disagree sure, but you will still be wrong about it.
I can't agree with your - "graduates from this genre into other genres because he can really deliver" - you make…
Not Me is a BL, it was marketed as BL, produced as BL and the director and everyone involved in the show calls and refers to it as a BL. So I don't see the point you're making....
Hey, loved hearing the podcast! I also listened to the one about toxic masculinity. Do you think you could share…
Oh yes!! I think it's good that you discuss your POVs and you disagree. So many times these kind of discussions become just people repeating some sanitized version of what they think they should say. I find that Toh gets the short end of the stick usually when people review SCOY so I feel the need to counterpoint them!!! lol But I truly believe that without NueaToh SCOY would probably be just like any other BL even though I love the other characters and pairings too.
Oh the Bad Buddy episode is already on my list!! In fact even though I've been watching asian dramas for a long time BB was the first BL I saw and it still is one of my favorites.
