Well I understand what it is but there's no way to know someone's preference (if there's even that) in sex positions based on anything at all specially gender stereotypes. The series themselves do it too and so does our society so I find First's answer pretty refreshing and I hope it gets more and more common. Now I don't think it's bad that people speculate on character's preferences and I do get this might be fun I just find it tiring when they do it based on these antiquated and quite stereotyped tropes as if it was some kind of universal truth or something that can be a "gotcha moment". I mean as you said we can't tell if it's FirstKhao or KhaoFirst. Why is that? Why can't we tell? Or what's missing from the trailer that makes "knowing it" impossible? Since you tell me these gender stereotypes are not false. I wont go into the delulu fans since this issue has nothing to do with the topic.
The BL Clinic now has an episode on this series. Secret Crush On You is covered on the second half of the episode:…
Hey, loved hearing the podcast! I also listened to the one about toxic masculinity. Do you think you could share the link or the name of the Thai youtuber that was discussing the use of the wifey/hubby terms?
Now about the SCOY segment I agree that the Daisy/Intouch storyline was the biggest "flaw" of the show. I guess a lot of it was in how they chose to cut so many of their scenes to the point of hurting their story. I don't know why they did it, if they felt the couple was to "risque" outside of the norm or whatever but it was a huge missed opportunity for them. I wish they would release the scenes they cut from the show.
But I have to disagree with some points. Toh being "too much" is what makes the show what it is specially because he never stops being too much and no one, not even Nuea expects him too or shames him for how he acts or presents himself (I think it's genius that Toh doesn't get a makeover). So no, Toh shouldn't be "clubbed" in the five first episodes because there is nothing wrong in how he "squirms, giggles, smiles, squeals, etc". Why should he change? What's so terrible about it? SCOY was just the fifth BL I watched (and I'm far from being the biggest romance fan) but what really made me keep watching since the first episode is how they put a lot of heart in it since the beggining. How we see them declaring the rules for having a secret crush or even more the scene outside the dance where Toh is crying and saying how his place is always as the side character, never at the forefront and that's all he deserves. That told me why Toh is how he is and explains a lot of how he acts toward Nuea (and the hoarding he does). Regarding Nuea I don't think he makes the "boy next door type" at all. All the characters are extreme stereotypes (by design) and he is anything but common which is why we very soon see why he likes Toh and why they make so much sense as a couple. I mean imagine how anyone but Toh would react to Nuea's advances lol But the extreme Nuea represents is something that is much more accepted by society at large so we don't see it as much of a caricature as we see with Toh.
Anyway I think that SCOY wouldn't work in any other style besides this over the top, camp , romp that is Cheewin's mark so I'd say that lobe it or hate it he does have a vison he stick too lol (but I think there was a lot of editing issues throughout the show that made so things confusing).
ugh. So basically SCOY2, only more gay than gayer and worse. The opening awards show scene was cringe city as it…
"So basically SCOY2, only more gay than gayer and worse." LOL if that was true than it would be awesome and not bad like you are implying...I mean something gayer than SCOY? Sign me up!! "Why not take all this money and tell a good, well-written story about oh I don't know, something like young gay men falling unexpectedly in love and struggling to accept their orientation and find a place in the world" Wow!! What a refreshing concept!! It's not like you just described 99% of queer characters arc and narratives in existence. What were you thinking indeed....
Good!!! I don't get people's obsession with enforcing these gender stereotypes on how people choose to have sex. It's so antiquated and obviously false.
A lot of us were hoping we would get a Season 2. Most popular Thai BLs seem to get a second season. But the creators…
Why let us down though? I think Bad Buddy's storyline was finished pretty well by the end, it doesn't need a second season. I think it's much better to let it be than to make a second season without a purpose.
To tell you the truth i would be more interested in their story... it seems more interesting spoiled young master…
I was thinking the same thing during the episode. Tess and Tun's story seems so much more interesting and also more developed than what we got for our leads.
what do you mean? Are serious about this?if so wtf !and why would you say something so insensitive..... plz try…
Pathetic....lol you don't own anyone darling, ship all you want (that's fine) but people are not your dolls to play out your fantasies. The problem is not shipping but the insane stalking, bullying and harassment celebrities experience because of delusional obsessive "fans". And it's not only in BL in fact what the main couple of Outlander have gone through makes what the BL boys experience a walk in the park.
Not that it matters at all but in bad buddy it was shown that pat was top when they were at their getaway
Exactly!!! People can't understand that they are actors acting a script. Also that's why I hope even more shows would subvert these stereotypes so people maybe wake up and learn something!
I've been saying this since the story was first announced. I mean I know people learn at different levels and…
It's not a plot hole. It's established since the beggining that things are slightly different in both universes. So he is notsurprised that there is a country named Thailand but he Talay is surprised seeing that men can marry in that universe. It's being shown little by little that thing are similar but no the same. So why should he assume that an specific show would be the same? The point is that there is no 2gether in the universe he's currently living and that's why the password works so well. Now you can like this or not, find it good or bad but this is most definitely NOT what a plot hole is.
I'm not feeling it. The script is fresh but the execution is lacking...subtlety? The coincidence are too much…
Just pointing out that Talay meeting Puem on the airport wasn't a coincidence, he and his friends went there purposely to meet Puem and wait for him. Also they work on the same industry (which is not that big) so it's not that far fetched (not more than most fictions at least) that they would work occasionally in the same project.
Not that it matters at all but in bad buddy it was shown that pat was top when they were at their getaway
You mean Pran right? But like you said it doesn't really matter and I'm surprised by comments like the OP "worried" about a show not enforcing gender and sexual stereotypes even when Bad Buddy did everything to break away from them!
Lowkey am shocked by the response in the comments since I see more ppl liking the show than not but that also…
I agree that it shouldn't be necessary to get over the cringe to enjoy the show, in the end it really is a matter of taste. Because the purpose of SCOY is to be over the top, it's designed as such from the very first scene to the last one. It's over the top, artificial and absurd. I get why some people might not like it and that's okay but I don't think it's a failing of the show but a style choice made. It's no wonder we have such divise reviews and opinions here. People in general either love or hate SCOY with very few in-betweens. It was not made to be "digestible cringe" quite the contrary it revels in being outside the norm exactly like its characters in the show. Now this can be seem as good or bad but I believe the show was successful in doing what they set out to do in the beggining and in this respect they achieved their objective.
I do wear glasses that's how I know it. At least everyone I know who wears glasses goes with them to the sea....and even those who don't will go with their sunglasses because of the sun. Of course not to dive in but when you're just playing around and not getting under the waves like they were doing in the show it's completely fine. Although I get it's just a joke and not that deep in the show lol
Quite the contrary those two episodes were the pinnacle of the show in every aspect of it. Nothing farcical or…
Well you should know a thing or two about condescension but whatever. Now you seem to be confusing things here the characters were deplorable that's different than the characterization being like that. It's a show based on a true story about violence in the military. I don't get what's farcical about it? What do you think should have happened? It's the ugly truth not only of the South Korean military but most militaries around the world. You don't have to like it, that's a matter of opinion and taste but you seem to equate that with a problem with the story itself or the quality of it. One thing has nothing to do with the other.
