Hollywood celebrities lead much more debaucherous lifestyles. They get involved in drug abuse, domestic abuse, orgies, physical altercations, satanic parties organized by p*do Epstein & Diddy... Nobody says it is an American thing when they do. So it's wrong and kinda racist to generalize a whole nation. Cheating happens everywhere. Even an American actress ( i won't give her name) had an open affair with a married man whose wife had just given birth to and instead of being cancelled she was nominated for best supporting actress at 2025 Oscars. At least Japan admits it is a scandal and lets the involved celebs stay out of public eye for a while. There are lots of exemplary Japanese couples so it's not ok to label any nation as cheaters. Humans are the same everywhere.
I've started to hate Ryuzo during Saga arc. What a disappointment he has become! He is the worst husband ever... He keeps Oshin prisoner in his family home, belittles her, complains about her to his monster mom, threatens to take Yu if Oshin returns to Tokyo. If only it were a different era. Oshin would have more rights in modern Japan. I don't care if he redeems himself later. I know Oshin will never love this selfish douchebag like before. His scenes make my blood boil!
I’m sorry but it’s not because they isn’t skinship scenes that they aren’t loving each other… yeah they…
They sure show a lot of skinship when it comes to Jdrama series with adultery theme; like Hirugao, Holiday Love etc... It depends on the genre I guess.
Just started watching this drama. I love when they talk about old drama series like Gokusen and Trick. It's like a time travel for me, too. I feel nostalgic. I ended up listening to Yasashiku Naritai ( theme song of one of my first jdrama) after ep 4. So start collecting good points y'all, or else you may be reborn as an anteater in your next life^^
According to IMDB, this movie is rated as G in Japan. ( Is this a joke? How can you put it in the same category as Ghibli movies?!) However, in Singapore, Thailand and Taiwan it is rated for mature audience or at least viewers over 12-15. Certification: Hong Kong:IIB Japan:G Singapore:M18 Taiwan:12+ Thailand:15
In episode 4 the main character accuses his client's mother of choosing to be a woman instead of a mother? You don't give up your womanhood when you become a mother, I really don't understand this logic in Jdrama. They don't expect fathers to give up their sexuality but they expect mothers just to be a robotic mother and sacrifice their sexual needs. Very patriarchal, disturbing and creepy.
Can anyone recommend her best dramas and movies, pls?

This drama has one of the best opening songs ever. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJh361m9Xtg The chemistry between Hideaki Takizawa and Kyoko Hasegawa is so good! I love that the female lead is spontaneous, independent, mysterious and cheerful. She is also so attractive. I feel more attached to their budding romance than those of many modern romance drama series for some reason.
I'm on episode 6. I have to say this drama doesn't encourage female infidelity as some others claim. The female lead's husband is the epitome of toxic masculinity. He treats his wife as a maid instead of a life partner. He belittles her. He cheats on her while she herself takes care of their baby and obnoxiously declares his cheating is not the same as a woman's. What the hell?! He also forces himself upon his wife. He should be locked up for domestic violence and rape. The female lead only stays married for her son and financial reasons. Their marriage was already over when he cheated. He broke the vows first. I've started this drama for Itagaki Rihito. He portrays his character really well. Such a versatile actor! I hope he gets more main roles in the future. I'm sure he will take Japan by storm with his charm and talent. We should support him instead of some actors who have been associated with yakuza and underage girls.
Yukie could have easily become a single mom with her income from teaching and her sister's support. But she chose her wretched, serial cheater, rapist monster husband just because of her obsession with the idea of a happy family with him and finally she lost her marbles, too. These two deserve each other. I feel sorry for their baby. I hope her sister adopts him in the end.
