this is sooooo cute so far. Now that it’s getting warmer, I’m in the mood for these small town/village dramas. After I catch up with this I’m going to watch IU’s latest one too. if anyone has any good small town/village romances (doesn’t have to be amazing, just a good plot, happy ending and preferably family oriented) please do share 💕
Either I am thinking it should be higher or I'm like yuppppp that was a dud for me... maybe I feel things more strongly than other MDL users. I struggle to find the in between rip
after watching the best thing, I can see myself becoming a big fan of her. i was surprised to learn she was the lead in perfect and casual, her skill has improved tremendously. cheering her on from now!

If you are not willing to answer a question in good faith, it's best not to answer.
As you have said there are dramas where the misogyny that would have been present in the past is downplayed and not as much, someone might be okay watching that whereas they might find something like this less enjoyable.
You can also find historical dramas based on fictionalised versions of the past that present a very modern themes simply set in a historical backdrop. Again this would be appealing to people that might not be able to tolerate more realistic depictions of misogyny in historical dramas.
Historical dramas have far too much diversity (as you yourself have confirmed you have seen) to claim asking a clarifying question on certain themes depicted in the show is puzzling especially on a forum for that very thing!
In turn, its always best to respond accurately and not be misleading in responding to these questions. Ultimately, if you don't understand why someone might ask the question, you are better off not answering than giving an incorrect answer...

the question was is there misogyny. the correct answer is yes there is not to lie and say there isn’t any in some kind of defence of the show.
The show obviously has strong patriachal views and I would say it’s more prevalent and central to the plot than others dramas in recent years it’s best to give context and to explain why it’s present, why that critique might have existed and why they might still enjoy it despite that criticism instead of claiming something that’s objectively not true.

This is definitely the best choice because I think it's hard to say if you'd like it from reviews. Overall the plot, writing and acting is really good but some people might find those plot points too much to enjoy the show. I hope you enjoy it though!!!

It's wrong to say there's no misogyny, because there actually is quite a bit. While the overarching plot is not inherently misogynistic , there are entire plot points that are based in misogynistic men attacking, harassing or disturbing these women. While they deal with it well - many of the situations they face are rooted in misogyny.
can anyone tell me if this is worth watching? i remember people talking about misogny and whatnot, so i need to…
There is misogyny in it - quite a lot of the conflict stems from very misogynistic views - the female leads have to endure a lot because of it. While they are very smart and clever and the show never outrightly glorifies the misogynistic behaviour ( I personally don't think it does enough to challenge it either given how overt the misogyny).
The main crux of a lot of their issues comes from misogyny and it can be quite frustrating as sometimes the women defending themselves is portrayed as them being impetuous, cunning or sly rather than them defending themselves from very unfair situations. The main lead can be seen as incredibly patronising also.
If you are okay with that then it should be fine for you - the acting is good and there are funny parts. However the other replies are very misleading so I thought I should give proper context to the claims of misogyny in the show - they aren't baseless but it's down to viewer discretion as certain plot choices could be off putting.

which is why I felt the need to correct you
