what's up with cdramas and delayed air dates? im pretty sure this one has obtained broadcasting license too, since teasers have long been out. what other reasons should there be?

I watched the original taiwanese film but it was too long ago and my memory is blurry. Basically, it has something to do with playing music on a piano AND time travelling. But time-travel was never added in the tags for the original film, and it isn't added in this one too. I think maybe because once the concept of time-travel is out, then viewers already know why the girl is mysterious.

it was great. the plot was clear and the storytelling was organized so everything made sense. there's a few points that one might think are boring but the acting, dialogue, and the production still get you hooked. there's less humor compared to Legend of Fei and the romance is more lowkey in a sense that "action speaks louder than words" but the emotions between characters are felt.

I'm not sure what you would consider a good drama but in my opinion, comparing Legend of Fei vs The Long Ballad, TLB is far better

the novel is great of course. but the drama is also amazing on its own. i do think your first worry is possible to happen - not getting satisfied with the drama if you already know the whole story based on the novel. However, the drama is very well-made enough for you to get immersed in the depth without reading the novel beforehand. So if you want to do both (reading and watching), it's better to watch the drama first, and THEN read if you still think there's something lacking

the ~loyalty~ game is really strong in this one. aside from some fickle characters in the first few episodes, all the characters - whether minor or supporting roles - have really strong loyalty. one may betray someone but that's just because they're loyal to somebody else. filial piety and service to the people and country are also very much highlighted.

i like how the whole story just revolved around these three themes (loyalty, filial piety, and service). all the conflicts also stemmed from these only, no real antagonistic characters that are so annoying. like you can't hate a single character because all of them are really just trying to protect what they value

the weibo official account is very active - posting every special day - so at least we know this will actually air

it's been 3 days since i decided to pick this up but im still only at episode 10 when i can do 10 episodes a day if i decided to binge something, or even 15/day if im really passionate. this is really difficult to watch, nothing interesting happening yet. had to watch spoiler clips on youtube as motivation to actually get to those random scenes.

they never gave a single real kiss between the first and second couples, they gave 3 real kisses to the 3rd couple instead since they didnt end well. . .

Dilraba has a really strong, masculine jaw and really high nose plus a tall physique. if not for her bright eyes and pretty lips, she would pass as a guy (especially when her clothes cover her chest). At first i was questioning the producers' decision of casting her in a crossdressing role, but throughout the course of watching this, i understood their choice very well. plus she never broke character - her stance, posture, and the way she sit and walked while playing a man were so on point

the plot is getting more interesting, the casts are literally shining - both jiwan and hyejoon were amazing in the last 2 episodes. minjae's "disappointed" acting was a little bit awkward and couldve been better but was ok for her character i guess. the cool minjae was set aside a bit but i know her story's being reserved. shin yi jun is the only one whose acting isn't picking up with the rest of the cast and the pace of the story. also i hope he stops focusing his acting on his neck, he's straining it so much

I've only ever watched school 2013, 2015, and 2017, along with this. idk if there were more but that's all im aware of for now. I'm sorry to the production and casts of this one too but being a part of the School series, it's inevitable for it to get compared to the previous versions. It was really just underwhelming, both plot and acting-wise. The concept of a "specialty" school was interesting at first but it was not enough to make the whole story interesting through and through,

I heard this was originally slated to be filmed and released last 2020, which makes sense because we didn't get a School 2019. Wish they used that one year delay to make the story better :<
