The Long Ballad did very well in letting viewers sympathize with the villains. It revolved heavily on family and romance too. AND the villains were able to achieve a lot of things, gave the protagonists a hard time until they eventually succeeded.

There’s really just a huge gap between Queen Hwa Ryeong and her supposed enemies that her success becomes less satisfying than they should be

I have watched so many saeguks, xianxia, and wuxia dramas but i must say although i really love this show, it has one of the weakest set of antagonists like everyone here besides the queen dowager is a loser. It’s not that the Queen was the least interesting female protagonist of this genre, it’s just that the enemies she has to fight against don’t give her much to do with

To be able to get marriage cert, the family register is the primary requirement, which usually is kept by the mother. Since they got married, it means her mom finally approved of them somehow.. i just wish they at least showed us how it got resolved. Now i have to worry about their fictional mother-in-law to son-in-law relationship 🤦‍♀️

Wow there’s really quite a gap between our two male leads’ acting skills versus that of our two female leads. It’s really getting so apparent as more episodes get released. I hope chaeyeon and yeonwoo surprise us soon

He said the director said soon, not by the end of the year. And i highly doubt it’s even possible to air it by then. He said he would do the dubbing himself, which means he has to go back to China to do it. Seventeen will be touring asia throughout october and japan from november to december. There’s also the LA event in december and a few award shows and maybe even the Hybe new years eve concert. The earliest he can do dubbing would be january, which means the earliest the drama could air would be 1st quarter of 2023… and considering review and licensing, they might actually be aiming for summer

This has a mystery tag though, and from the trailer, it doesn’t look like it’s all just fun and games

unfortunately, judging by the previews, I will just have to imagine the remaining scenes in my head

I can watch 60 full episodes in total if that means I can see the beautiful ending in the book in its entire glory with the characters whose faces I got to know in the drama.

I know! so far I've loved the actresses for He Zhao Jun and Wang Ling, and now the crown princess. Also, she's nowhere to be found in the show anymore but I really like the actress for the third princess too.

also I know it takes two to tango but the crown princess carried that entire scene for me, not a dig towards the crown prince's acting skills but he was totally overshadowed by the princess

I MUST SAY the crown princess' acting during her and the crown prince's confrontation was so good she's so good gosh she needs more gigs in the future she's so pretty too
