But there's also this mindset that androids have to be as human as possible otherwise people can't accept them / couldn't form deep emotional bonds with them...which is complete BS because there's already been a lot of studies that find that people are even falling in love with AI chatbots that they're talking to on a regular device.

Now for a reason that actually makes sense. The android line that he's part of was designed as capable of being caregivers so it would have to be able to cook for those that can't cook themselves. Cooking is an art, baking is a science. Sure you can't memorize all the times, temps, steps you want, but you still have to taste the food because it can vary so greatly. In this case it would make sense that the android line would have taste sensors and well need someplace for the food to go because it would be rude / unhygienic to spit it back out right in front of the food / people you're cooking for. So in this case it makes sense there would be some catch and purge system...

But an android just wanting to eat just for the sake of eating....yeah makes no sense.

I think a lot of it has to do with how they wrote Soga and him going from being setup right from the start as a straight recently/semi-recently divorced guy. There was never any indication prior that he was anything other than straight and then suddenly BOOM he can't stand being away from Sakae for more than a few hours.

Set it up that his marriage was one of convenience, of "when you're an adult you get a job, get married, have kids" teaching by his parents, something that sets it up that it wasn't just a magical poof and now he's bisexual. Sometimes a character is written / portrayed in a way that makes it obvious without it being said, like if Sakae caught Soga secretly staring at him too long or something like that, but other characters it needs to be expressed through dialogue, etc. otherwise it comes off as unrealistic.

I think the other big part of is it that since both Kan Hideyoshi and Okuno So were in Kamen Riders they probably had that to bond over and combined with Mizuki's character they had a much more explosive chemistry together on screen than Kan Hideyoshi and Nishiyama Jun did, especially because of the way Soga was written.

So far still really liking Job and hopefully we'll see him in more roles. Porsche is starting to grow on me.

The more this goes on thou the more it makes me wonder, why didn't they cast Bank as Krom?? I think Bank and Job could have had awesome chemistry together.

Holy shit did Mizuki and his antics ever hold this series together.

Would love to see Kan Hideyoshi (Sakae) in another bl series with a different partner, even more so if that partner was Okuno So because they had awesome chemistry in their scenes together.

Normally I'm pissed when a Japanese series is ending because they're normally so good, that definitely won't be the case with this one next week.

So a barely known / newbie cast that in their first episode actually managed to have chemistry together... it does exist.

This actually wasn't a bad first episode at all, hopefully the rest of the series follows suite. I'm liking the way Shogun and First play off of each other so far. With the way their characters dynamic is going even in the first episode, there better be some clothes ripping, wild passionate, I'm gonna break you like a twig all night long sexathon going on.

One thing I've learned is to never hold it against anyone in the production / cast for the quality of a series done by Copy A Bangkok like "Playboyy" is. They could have award winning cast production crew, etc. and still some how turn it into something that doesn't even qualify as scraped from the bottom of a barrel bad. lol

Seeing as how it makes no sense to air these out of order since this is a prologue / prequel, they might as well just completely scrap this and chance the name of chapter 2 to " Kiseki: Miracle Season ".

no point rushing recasting, reshoots, etc. giving the actors no chance to actually form any type of bond and having the whole thing suffer.

Yeah he's kind of a weird choice, not saying the actor himself is bad or anything, just a weird choice. There's actually an intern in the later episodes that also came from Tokyo and sort of had the same characteristics of Soga with not knowing how to fit in, etc. and even that actor would have been a better fit.

This year seems to be the year for a lot of series where a couple tried and failed in the past and then end up back together years later. With the chemistry of the ml and his ex on here they definitely should have went for that storyline with this one. Soga could have been the "He's so different from my other relationships that maybe I'll find what I've been missing" only to realize that Mizuki just wasn't ready before and he really is the one now capable of everything Sakae wanted.

It's an opposites attract series with zero chemistry between the two main characters while the one main character and his ex consistently have a huge amount of chemistry together in every scene. That's caused a lot of people to actually root for the main character and the ex to get back together instead of the two main characters, which of course these series never do. It's not a bad series to watch to waste time, it's just missing that spark, which is a rarity for a Japanese BL series.

Yeah at least with this it's only episode 3 and Ji is already starting to crack a bit, they dragged it out with Venus way too long and Sky definitely didn't deserve it. I did like Venus more towards the end where he started to playfully tease Sky instead of just always being a jerk to him.

That wasn't a brother, that was a Chihuahua that tried to hump everyone's leg...in human form. lol

At least this series is trying and not just completely relying on Tod's smoking hot body to distract from how bad the series is.....although Fluke's gorgeous face does a pretty good job at that. lol

Actually most of what you wrote was pretty accurate for older non-trauma center aka traditional hospitals.

Operating rooms used to be these huge rooms because of the size of the equipment, the equipment has gotten a lot smaller but building modern hospitals is something extremely expensive and slow to happen so most people are still used to seeing the larger rooms.

Not sure where you live but a lot of trauma centers are pretty much that in name only and basically just a section of a traditional hospital.

more modern trauma centers are more specialized from the mass casualty aspect and less so for the traditional hospital part, basically a complete 180. Much smaller and more surgical suites and fewer of the larger operating rooms.

Not sure why it took 3 episodes to realize this, but this is another "Venus In The Sky", just without Tod in various states of undress every episode. lol

50 is probably the maximum amount the trauma center can handle at one time, but considering how many interfans are watching these series now and are used to the older style huge operating rooms compared to the smaller more modern ones, yeah they should have decreased the number.

operation doesn't necessarily mean cut them open surgery, especially since the were referring to a fire mass casualty event.

Blood type testing can be done extremely quickly, trauma centers have more specialized rapid equipment than a standard hospital so yeah they could have done at least most the the 50 blood tests in that time.

depending on type and dose, anesthesia can take a while to kick it so in an emergency situation it's not unheard of to start it what most would consider early. There's also cases were the quicker it's administered (burn cases especially) the better off it is for the patient.

Not saying some of it wasn't a bit of a stretch of drama time, but not as far off as you're thinking.

Not sure what the Industry standards are for age in Japan, but those two younger actors paired together as main leads in a bl series with no intimacy restrictions would crush it. There were a couple of the flashback scenes where they looked like they wanted to devour each other and meld into a giant puddle of goo together.
