I'm not sure what to make of this one so far. The first two episodes made me wish this was a Korean series because they always handle sci-fi / emotional androids so well, but there's also enough intrigue in these first two episodes to make you want to check out the next couple of episodes to see what way they're going to take it. It's not an issue with the cast, they're fine, it's just...I don't know something feels off about it.

yeah.....6 episodes is definitely not going to be enough.

Considering this is Star Hunter Entertainment I went in with lower than zero expectations, but the first episode was actually pretty good. Now let's see if they can manage to keep that going or if it'll tank like usual.

Kan Hideyoshi and Murase Sae are really carrying this series and their friendship in episode 4 really highlighted that. I'm not sure if it's the original source material, the directing, casting, or some combination of those, but something just isn't clicking with this series. I have no idea how they're going to drag this out for 10 episodes nor have interest in it going that long. If there was ever a perfect series for a short 6 episode mini-series, this would be it.

Just FYI, you can take a screenshot of the credits and then use google images to upload that screenshot and it'll translate it into your native language (or a language of your choice) for you. It makes it a lot easier to track down actors, song titles, etc.

Actually it's not that bad of a plan, like they said the charity event is a cover and there's a lot of media there so bring a lot of unwanted attention to it and it could very possibly at least scare off some of the rich scum there to bid on the kids.

Hell Toki was 3rd year so he was already legal (17-18) to begin with, but like you said they waited until he wasn't his student anymore. Apparently a simple google search of Japanese school system structure is too difficult for some people.

Yeah I could definitely see him playing with the balance a bit more between the two styles, and I personally think we'll see this series being on the higher end of filmed theater, his next series being on the higher end of cinema and 180 end up being the middle ground.

Personally I really like the style he's going for and I like the longer dialogue. Too often in series it's either "why in the hell didn't they talk about that" or "when in the hell did they talk about this" and it's usually important details to the story that get overlooked and left for the audience to fill in because they shorten the dialogue too much. Personally I think in the end his style gives more insight into the characters thought process without resorting to the "inner voice" that so many series rely on.

I mean no offense by this, but much of regular bl is for teens / young adults and geared towards magic moments that make women swoon, but his bl series are very much for adults and people who are lgbtq.

I remember when watching "180 Degree Longitude Passes Between Us" so many of the younger / female viewers were mad there was no kiss, while the older / lgbtq understood exactly why there wasn't and why it wasn't needed.

If I remember right and if the translations were right he actually talked about this in an interview I saw that he did when 180 came out.

Maybe it's because you and I are old, male, and at least in my case gay (don't want to speak for you) so we appreciate the complexity more.
I think that's why "180 Degree Longitude Passes Through Us" stuck with me so much as well. I'm an 80's kid who definitely grew up in the age of gay is bad/ gay is evil but also in lived long enough to see it become more accepted so it was easier to understand where both characters were coming from.
Atom is addictive, and not just because he is physically beautiful, even in "Bake Me Please" he just draws you to him.
Hopefully Kyu makes a return in episode 12 because I'd love to see Jet have more of a chance to be more unrestricted playing off of Atom, but he did definitely play his character well.

Jared may have this sexy nerd thing going, but holy shit Oat.... lol

I still definitely think this is an underrated and underappreciated series.

I liked Winner in this, but thought Oh was a bad choice for a partner, and no not just because they had someone in his 40's playing 27 years old.

Yeah it's already hilarious with the way Dy drives Fy nuts so having that extra layer of Dy being able to really be able to tease the hell out of him until he has a massive case of blue balls and then trying to excuse himself out of the consequences, etc. stuff like that would really amp up the comedy.

I've said this every week and every week it becomes even more true, Neo (Fire) and Aungpao (Dynamite) murdered this series since day one with second couple syndrome and now they've mutilated it into tiny bits. They really need to give those two characters their own spin-off series, preferably after Aungpao is 18 so there's no limits on the pranks, teasing, banter they could do in it.

Normally I like Off and Gun, but damn they are boring af in this and yeah the material isn't great, but it's just like everything is just a setup for fan service with no actual substance. Just once I'd like to see Dome get a character that isn't annoying af, but of he'll turn around in the end once Metha finally skewers him and he's not the odd one out without a bf.

Apparently I'm in the minority on this one because I really liked the series from start to finish. I do think it should have been another two episodes longer just so they could have fleshed out some of the story plots a bit more, but if you have a couple of working brain cells it's not hard to fill in the gaps that they didn't explore so much.

I was referring to BL in general in 2023, not just KBL.
