Aww, article about me ^^ I used to watch western TV shows all the time and I always felt like dramas are just…
Tendo welcome to our world! I too was someone who grew up watching western shows as I am an American. I Heard of the world of K dramas and K-pop many eons ago when I was in college because of a classmate who was really into that. But I never gave it much thought. Until almost 2 years ago when Netflix kept telling me I wanted to watch a drama from China. I thought it was really weird because I don’t speak the language Heard of the world of K dramas and K-pop many eons ago when I was in college because of a classmate who was really into that. But I never gave it much thought. Until almost 2 years ago when Netflix kept telling me I wanted to watch a drama from China. I thought it was really weird because I don’t speak the language (however I have been studying it now for over a year and a half). But after I gave in and watched my first Chinese drama “meteor garden 2018“ I have never turned back. I washed a couple Chinese dramas switched over to Thai when he’s dramas then finally jumped into the world of K dramas. I still jump around a little bit but mostly I stay in K drama world. And I totally get the idea of your first husband but I didn’t get a “first husband“ and still I until I watched Taiwanese dramas and his name is George Hu. My Kdrama husband is Lee Dong Wook and I got a stuffed hedgehog as a Christmas present because it’s connected to one of his characters in the show “touch your heart“. If you ever want some recommendations please check out my watch list. There is taiwanese adaption of Itzura Na Kiss called “Miss in Kiss” that I prefer better because I had a hard time with the actor who played Naoki seeming to wooden. There is also a Japanese version called “Playful Kiss” with one of the actors from Boys Over Flowers. Happy Asian Drama Watching! P.S. since coming to Asian Dramaland I haven’t watched any Western TV :-)
I agree with this thought because even thought Tae Eul isn’t really invested in Yi Gon right now she must still…
He told her he can’t tell her anything unless she’s a “member of the royal court” but maybe he really wants to tell her things so he’s pushing it. But he’s pushing it waaaaaaay too much.
I honestly think the emotional storyline (i.e. the romance between Lee Gon and Tae Eul) would be better served…
I agree with this thought because even thought Tae Eul isn’t really invested in Yi Gon right now she must still feel connected to him in someway otherwise she would’ve booted his behind far away by now. On the one hand it could be argued that Yi Gon seeks her out simply because he believes she will lead him to the person who saved his life. Yet they’re trying to push a romantic angle with the “wife” comment. Then again perhaps he is serious about not being able to share anything with her without a certain “level of clearance”
The first drama I ever watched was from China and right after I finished that one I found Taiwanese dramas and I was stuck on them for at least half a year. I have quite a few in my watchlist. Chris Wu was in one called “The Perfect March” where he plays a chef. It’s got some lighthearted moments some angst moments but it’s a typical romance I think for the most part.
Thank you for your article! I just added Wednesday at 3:30 to my watch list. As for not liking Crash Landing, that’s okay I don’t hate you :-) To be honest I almost dropped it after the first episode, but kept trucking along but after a while it grew on me and now I love it. But I also know that there are other dramas that I’m not a fan of so to each their own.
First, I agree with you that I don’t really get into a show if it doesn’t have any element of romance. I’ve branched out into different genres as long as it has romance included.
Secondly, the only actor I know in this is JKY and I liked him in Search:WWW which is why I had already considered giving this show a chance. Plus it is an interesting take although I think this isn’t the first time reincarnation has been used right?
For now I will say I am on team JKY as I have not seen the other actor but who knows maybe after watching this I will switch.
I am a fan of Hu Yi Tian and I’m glad to see another chance to watch him. I’ve mostly seen him in romance shows either as the lead or a support role. It’ll be interesting to see how he plays this role but I have no doubt he’s got the chops to do it.
I first saw her in the beauty inside and well I like the main characters I enjoyed her role and that of her romance with Eun Ho better than the main characters. Once again, I was enthralled by her character in search: WWW to the point where I skipped over the whole show except for anything that had her and Lee Jae Wook in it. She really is a great actress and I was so happy when I saw this article. There’s so much I didn’t know about her that I can look into. Thank you!
We surely noticed that Eunsub won't say the words you need to hear, but why!?We even got the scene of admitting…
Perhaps it’s tied into his fear of losing his happiness? Maybe he thinks that if he says those words it will make his chances of losing that person much more likely.
Thank you for your suggestions. As someone living in Washington state who basically is on lockdown and without much to do I was running out of shows to binge watch with my mom. The third suggestion we have already watched and loved it. So I will trust you and watch the other two. If you get a chance update this list with a few more it would be awesome. I am a teacher so we are out of school for six weeks at least.
it was good but a 2-hour last ep was really too much in my opinion. I still love this drama and I am sad it's…
On the one hand yes a two hour episode was a bit much. However, at that point not wanting it to end I was OK with the longer episode. I’m starting to see that Korean dramas more and more are getting a little crazy with the time.
well this show just got into my ''never forgive'' blacklist because of what they did to my babies seo dan and…
Personally I don’t think he really died. I think it needed to look like he died because he had to hide out for 10 years. I think he’s in Russia hiding out and that’s why she’s happy to practice to go to Russia. Of course that’s just my thought but it just fills in a few blanks. Why did she make sure that the Butthead brother and his wife knew that Alberto had died but wanted everyone else to think he was alive? So clearly they couldn’t go after him and they would have to pay.
I really couldn’t get into this drama at first because of the female actor, but after 2 weeks of trying to get…
Sean- I felt the same way when I watched this when it aired. I was excited when I saw the trailer but then two episodes in it was hard to get through it. But after about episode three I bought in and I would wake up really early on the weekends just so I could watch them as soon as they posted on Netflix
I'm up to ep9 and if this has the same sort of plot twist t S1 where the guy turns out to be a weirdo, manipulative…
I think he did manipulate something before they met but I’m not sure what it is. It’s not as bad as convincing her she was dying but I’m sure she’ll still leave him briefly
