I like the fact FL is gentle , smart and has a bloody good judgement of people. She doesn't come with a preconceived notion. She is willing to change her opinions based on what she sees. She must have heard scary tales about the ML before she wedded him. Inaddition, in the short time she spent interacting with him ,in which time he stole her seal and kicked her out, nevertheless she judged him as better person than liu yan with whom she spent much longer time in her childhood.
Also her moral compass helped her decide in a split of a second whom to side with - Liu Yan or Wei Shao... She is another Lady Xu in the making , if she has this level of smartness , and political maturity in all of 15 years of age
that's makes me wonder how our today's 15year olds fare in comparison with folks of ancient era . Will today's kids judge correctly , take action and survive in similar circumstances and fight for their families.....
After reading some comments that they don't like FL because she comes off as manipulative, I don't know why I remembered SU Tangli from Serendipity when she asked FL if she would still consider her methods questionable if her own family got massacred in the most ruthless/inhuman way.

Reading novel side by side with the drama is confusing me hell a lot. Am wondering which scene is from drama and which from novel!
i like the way the drama is handled, They haven't made it another "Scent of time" or timetravel/Rebirth trope. Just a regular drama. Which didn't take away anything in my opinion.

Lui Yi Ning has such an interesting, intense face/persona, which is very suitable for intensely plotted period dramas. I haven't watched any of his contemporary dramas, but I feel the plots won't be able to do justice to his talent or looks.

she had an option to let Liu Yan drown Wei state, that would have ensured her clan and her family would have been 100% safe since that would cause tremendous loss to wei shao to recover from,, but she sided with wei shou because she cannot allow killing of the innocents. . even when she is desparate to save herself and her clan, she will still side with her enemy who stole her seal and drove her away betraying her because she cannot allow innocents to die.. her noble nature will shine through and ensure ML's hardened heart will melt
