is this in the context of the concubine issue? i was wondering what is exactly on his mind? did he want to take his cousin as concubine because he wanted or his mother wanted ? what is his intention in asking XQ to arrange it? would he have taken the cousin in if XQ arranged it?

unfortunate indeed! If only one is more open minded and accepting of other actors they will find themselves appreciating some fine acting/dramas . Why not broaden your love and enjoy the shows , and rate as per merit and make these dramas gain visibility so that many more get to enjoy these shows , rather than remaining narrow minded and sabotaging other actor dramas. since in long term , once people figure which actor/actress fandom is harming others dramas , it will harm the said actor /actresses though they themselves may be innocent of the action.

She is not so short sighted in my opinion. she isnt there for herself , remember what she said to her sister - she isnt looking for love but for power , his power - she is looking out for her clan - she doesnt probably care what Wei Shao does otherwise ... unless, his cousin's influence brings disaster to her clan.

Yes, that entire wedding ritual was so intense and cold. He didn't follow any of the rituals, and that pouring of the wine in front of the tablets scene was extremely cold. ManMan was extremely composed and didn't react. Any other bride would have thrown a tantrum at the disrespect.

unsettled is a mild word- for someone so hardhearted , she caused major upheaval , albeit for a short time.. when he had to offer prays to his ancestors before marriage , his heart turned back to stone cold. .. he is having an intense battle within himself.

i wasnt a fan of Song Zu Er . Didnt like her acting in previous dramas and I was prejudiced against her in this drama too. But watching 5 episodes and reading the novel a bit convinced me she is a right choice for the role.. She is winning me in this drama.. time to revise my impression of her .. and watch her dramas with more objectivity

she has almost vertical hill to climb to conquer his mind or heart ... i understand 3 day day and night massacre of male members of your clan can have pretty scary impact on you , and they were probably right in their place to hate qiao clan to the bone, am symphathetic to their plight . But leaving someone who saved their clan lives from floods without a roof , to drench in winds and rains , without care is simply heartless - even if you have experienced unbelievable cruelty , it should not harden you to not grace your benefactor with some level of courtesy

Sorry - read few chapters of novel just now. what i have written is applicable to drama qiao grandpa .. the novel version of Qiao grand pa is pretty cunning and shrewd . It seems he took the decision not to send reinforcement himself and there is insinuation , he may have used li su to bring down the Wei clan because Wei Jing was making his clan grow in power and also praised for bring virtuous - Qian grand pa saw it as a threat to his own clan.. Xiao Qiao's father wasnt even part of the military campaign meant to be sent as reinforcement - its all grand pa Qiao and may be even his elder brother

Wei Shao is under the misunderstanding that Qiao clan coaxed their grandpa into an alliance , instead it was his grand pa who proposed it - which seemed to have surprised the Qian clan grand pa.. Also , by helping with the canals/water , Qian clan had contributed to the alliance . its just the heirs were weak , that grand pa qian could not help when it was needed the most.

Also, when Liu Yan planned to drown Wei state , I was happy Xiao Qi saved them. But the way Wei State treated her post-wedding—leaving a newlywedded bride at the city gate for five whole days in heavy rain—and the main lead not even checking on his bride, whether she had been let in or not (bro, she saved your peoples lives risking her own life, that would warrant at least a shabby roof on her head!!!)

Poor female lead , carrying the fate of her entire clan on her shoulders without a thought of giving up. She is such a courageous lady , thinking on her feet and moving as per circumstances, trying her best to protect her people. I totally love the female lead character.
