I haven't read any books, but I kind of feel like 'The Dearest' and this drama is from same era.
Yes, they are both set in Joseon dynasty. Joseon dynasty is the most commonly used dynasty in S. Korean historical dramas because it was the longest reigning dynasty.
Looking for something like My Dearest or The Red Sleeve. Does this come close?
Not better than Red Sleeve in terms of romance cause Red Sleeve is the top of the tops for me, but it is like right under it :) at least thats how I feel about it.
Wow, I got Reset Life and I am baffled, because I am currently in stage of life where I do have many regrets and wish I could turn back time and go back.
Are they foreshadowing something with the Queen being so sick and talking about death and with Queen Dowager talking about selection of next Queen? Am I overthinking it or... I can logically explain to myself why such idea wouldn't work, but on the other hand I am curious if they can find a loophole which even I am not aware of.
I agree with the Crown Prince position but I thought Mong Woo would asked the Queen to adopt him as a son and…
That's what FL has in mind. But even if he is adopted, people are going to complain because even if it's this kind of adoption, it is still dangerous, since daegun is son of previous monarch. Usually adoption happened when concubine has given birth to royal child sooner than queen did. This kind of adoption isn't against law, but it does pose as a threat.
that's what I said, the FL is taking big risk at the cost of others and I don't like it, she's playing the victim…
Like, if he was older, I would think that it could work out, but he is still very young. He doesn't have his ''circle'' of helpers, like the King or FL has. Why is FL so adamant in changing the king NOW is baffling and just plain childish thinking.
I am all for the idea of making him Crown Prince buuuuut I wouldn't be so bold and say that such position would keep him safe. His position was never safe and making him the Crown Prince would make him even bigger target for Park's faction.
Okay, so Yi In thinks Ring Ding Dong knows who poisoned his brother hehehee and I bet she knows. 'Cause remember, she was constantly giving the old king weird looks.
FL - I...I came to give you my answer. FL - I...will withstand any pain. FL - I'll stay by your side, Your Highness. Golden Retriever - Your Highness! We have a big problem! The lighting struck inside the palace and caused fire. ML - Where? Where is the fire?

But...
That was basically it :)
She indirectly asked her to adopt him.
ML is not a bad king at all.
His position was never safe and making him the Crown Prince would make him even bigger target for Park's faction.
It comes out after it finishes airing in Korea.
