Lol, you are really serious about this.Glad you are the one with the research/info on historical Joseon. Modern…
Honestly, I am like this with everything related to history. I am true history geek and outside of uni I spend hours studying Korean historical stuff because I truly love it hahahah. I bet my prof already knows where my questions come from :D
Despite the fact that I think there were better ways to write this conflict, I hope it's the writers way of JW…
If that's the case, it is extreme. Does someone have to be dying in order to finally realize that you have feelings for them? That's not how real world works =/ In the end, it is typical dramala-la-land.
I have the answer to the ''hugging'' question guys! So, the short answer is, that it was acceptable. The long answer is, not always.
It totally depended on the relation between the two people and even rank and setting as well. Usually such displays of affection were done in private, because Neo-Confucianism preached that being professional and distancing themselves from ''human'' affairs was the key.
Just know, that my prof did look at me weird, because my question was....very specific and random LOL.
Since Joseon Dynasty practiced Neo Confucian, homosexuality is seen as depraved and evil. Two men hugging can…
I havent seen any source about hugging though and since the society lived by samgang and oryun....who knows? Might ask this on next lesson at uni hahaha.
If ML still doesn't know FL is a woman, would he assume that Mong Woo and Myung Ha were gay? How common was it…
Hm, not sure about hugging, but since in oryun precisely "sin" they do talk about trust between friends. There is whole-ass chapter about friendship :) BUT Korea was different compared to Japan, where there were "army friendships" in other words F-buddies which were even encouraged to sleep together to strenghten the uhhh....bond? As in fighting spirit.
Homosexuality was heeeaaavily critized in Joseon and they believed it was barbaric and immoral (confucianism again) and that homosexuality was dirty past of Goryeo's royals.
no i think ppl are dramatic and love to hate. it actually makes sense imo. if they didnt have this plot, then…
By your words, you put ppl who dislikes the episode in same category as people who are true haters and comment such stuff like "Boa's lips are ugly AF".
I am not starting anything, I simply reacted based on your comment, which did call out ppl who disliked EP12 as haters.
Honestly, I don't understand why she would team up with him, since his father deserved to die, not even sugarcoating…
indeed, him and FL are currently directing their anger at wrong person LOL. I do think that being indifferent is actually her strategy to gain Myeong Ha on her side - that is if my theory is right and she is only using him for her own goals. It does take ''balls'' to be able to act so normal I guess?
Honestly, I don't understand why she would team up with him, since his father deserved to die, not even sugarcoating…
Hmmm, back than sons followed in their parent's footsteps. Doing otherwise would be viewed as going against your parents, thus acting immorally. Neo-confucianism was so weird LOL.
I do think that she is teaming up with him, only to use him for her own goals. She is using his kindness and affection. She knows very well that he is capable of going out of his way to aid her. If you think about it, FL is heartless hahaha.
Btw, whenever I have notification from you I automatically starts to sing this song: https://youtu.be/4omIxll25FM

Maybe I shouldn't say that I don't understand it though. After all, I do. It all comes down to the samgang, particularly, hyo - which is filial obedience to parents. That is the reason he kept siding with his father, while he was still alive. Being dead doesn't cut the family ties, even more, the ancestors are to be celebrated and honored.
I am wondering if Mong Woo is doing the same thing as the King…keep your enemies close. Did Mong Woo ally with…
Honestly, I don't understand why she would team up with him, since his father deserved to die, not even sugarcoating this fact. He was a traitor and attempted high treason, which does result in death.
Yes, if you are into serious sageuk TV series. This isn't lighthearted rom-com, it goes very deep into how old Korea worked. You can expect lots of drama, politics, and for now subtle affection.

So automatically when someone dislikes something and gives valid criticism, they are branded as a hater? I learn sth new everyday on this wonderful place called internet :)
I gotta say, every character in this drama is flawed.Anyone dissing Ji won doesn't get what she's been through.…
I also understand where she is coming from. I never once said she should ignore her traumatic experience, but with that being said, having a trauma and dealing with deep stuff gives person 0 right to hurt other people. I said it once and I am going to say it again, if someone has such deep issues like Ji Won it is better to stay away from romantic relationships. Yes, there are some type of traumatic experiences that have to be overcome first before getting into relationship. With her selfishness - with her wanting to be in a relationship, without knowing how to properly be in one - she hurt Ji Hyeok. No man or woman should be on the verge of death for the other to realize, "oh, they indeed love me, so I can trust them".

Not taking enjoyment of this series from other people :) Just expressing how I felt about it.
Yes, a lot is going on :)
