Oh and if you want a comparison, it is like Psychopath Diary but without comedy and better characters.

I finished ep 1-4 and I have to say this drama has a vibe of its own. No spoiler but this is a light thriller and not a mystery genre since we got the narratives of all sides chronologically. The killer reveal is on ep 2 or 3 if you are still suspicious on ep 1 (Mouse effect if you know it). It makes the experience less stressful overall but that does not mean the characters are not well written.

From the justice party, victims, and the killer, to the vengence rich guy all have their stories and not all are revealed. Of course, sides characters have little background then die and background characters do not (the drama is not all over the place). And arguably, only one character that isn't well portrayed so far, and that is the daughter.

Lots to unfold and the one week one ep is killing me :)

This drama is amazing. Time travelling is amazingly explained here, follows "chronological order" in which the drama only progress forward like 4th, 5th, 6th etc. time of the repeated event. No confusion needed while they also make deductive guesses based on what they learned from previous attempts. If you have every play at least 1 restartable game like Flappy Bird or Mario, that is basically what resets are like. Cant wait for more episodes

I was thinking the same lol. They throw in some suicide, corruption, vandalism, blackmailing, discrimination, etc. the first 5 ep and now we be just waiting on some love story between Ki Joon and Ji Won. I had high hope for Ji Won since first ep only to see her evolves into a cutesy FL choosing who she likes lol.

I totally agree with you. I watched the drama and I like it. It has great ccharaccters and plots if you watched it as any new drama. I don't want the drama to get cancelled but if it is I won't complain either. There is no telling about the future. At least we can expect ep 3 and 4 to come out.

P/S: if you want a different drama with Korean history and is purely fiction then Chicago Typewriter (2017) is for you.

If you are a foreign person as I am, all we want is just a good drama with great actors and actresses in it, and we are happy. But it is not right for us to invalidates Korean people opinions and sentiments towards their country's history depiction. We have never experiences the trauma of being South Korean at that time so claiming that "it is just a drama", "it is fiction", "it did not OPENLY portray the parties as such"... is ignorance. Sure I can like the plots, the actors, the actresses, the chemistry, but I will not say that the drama should be continue or "drop if you hate it" because lessening a trauma, a success of Korean independence is not the right thing to do.

As a foreign watcher as I am, don't be mad if the drama is dropped is the BEST thing you can do for everyone.

Y'all they did the dead bestfriend plot dirty. Can't believe we waited to know what happened for 7 episodes to get slap with "it happened exactly as we thought" and "let's move on by having Young Joo forgives Ki Joon after a SINGLE fight". Really commits to Jiwon and Second-Lead rejection I see. At this point, Young Joo brother trial and the twins are the only ones not disappointing me. Jiwon is just a plain friendly and liking ML type lol. All her personalities are practically gone other than appearing happy with everyone.

At this point there are way too many dragged out stories. Makes me wonder if this is 16 episodes lol. Young Joo is now 90% confirmed to like Jiwon even though nothing really happened and no confession made. Do we really need to be reminded again the story of the dead friend that won't be resolve anytime soon? I think they really wanna go for a Start-up type of inducing Second-Lead Syndrome cuz Ki Joon got nothing. RIP Seo Young you are the rejected SLF. The teacher is still contemplating and not explaining what happened.

In all fairness we did get the twins in action - one following family tradition of crimes while the other want to escape and seek for friends who can help her. Young Joo brother trial begins and the vandalized car truth come out. Seo Young finds other path for her future cuz she ain't letting the BS of the school get to her.

Other than that, just crumbs like all Ki Joon doing are carrying a chair, continue being sad and liking Jiwon. Eun Bi and Ho Sung got 1 moment and Eun Bi shipping Young Joo x Seo Young.

I like Young Joo with Seo Young too much! Pleases don't let Ji Won and Young Joo go from best friends to friends after rejection. I don't mind the force childhood lovers connection between Ji Won and Ki Joon, but what Seo Young and Young Joo has is too beautiful to be ruined by Ji Won!

RIP Ki Joon. You are written to just be a bag of sadness. The writter got to know we can't relate to his "happiness" pre-best-friend-death if he is just gonna pass sadness over and over again. Side characters have more drive and motivation than the main character and I hope they have in the back a great ML back story, FL doesn't just be there to support ML but also her own life, and both to have a MEANINGFUL connection together rather than some childhood memories.

I think it is good representation of many aspect of lives. We have got childhood trauma, career failure, debt, suicide, power abuse, orphan, health, cheating, etc. Aside from ML and FL stories (I have no clue how its gonna develop), I also look forward to the twins (will they really take advantage of others as her family all does or break through?) Young Joo (will he be able to expose the school Head?), Seo Young (will she success with all her efforts and her future), and Eun Bi (can she rebound to be idol again?). But the story I look forward to the most, more than the twins, is Ho Sung's (if any). He is such a kind friend and so supportive of everyone that he might have an interesting story behind all the helping he has done for his friends.

I see your point and I like Yohan, but I would like to offer a different perspective.
1. So far, we did have pieces of the ML character story. We know he is "really close" to FL and something happened between him and SML which is waiting to unravel. I agree that his character is just 99% sad and 1% others but we are only 4 EPs in.
2. Yes it has made way better stories for the side characters (so far) than what we know from ML and FL. But, I think the ML and FL characters are already well introduced and the writers are giving side characters more depth to their personality rather than "the world revolve around ML and FL". And we learn those stories through ML and FL.
3. Minseo likes ML and we know it and her story was well done. It went completely un-noticed by FL her best friend and us viewers (quite realistic). ML and FL tries to save her but from her point of view, did she even notice ML coming to save her? Often times people don't really notice the "side efforts" that lead to the "success".
4. SML is not unreasonably hostile to ML. From what we know so far, ML did something and SML believes that it killed one of his best friend. He does feel conflicted, sad and angry because would he still be bestfriend with "the cause of death" of his other bestfriend? And he ignores ML 100% if ML didn't interact with him so he is not hostile. He may be unfriendly but he is NOT hostile to other students. If anything, the other students ASSUME that he is dangerous and distance themselve from him first (a form of bullying). The one time he grab that student BY THE BAG was because the rumor was that ML is expelled for HIS action.
5. What I felt disappointed by the pot vandalism is not because SML did not come clean but rather baits the death of Minseo.
5.1. On that same note, it is not promoting blackmailing, deceive or manipulation of anykind. We are simple informed that the twins manipulated the score, did not come clean, SFL knows this and confront the girl. The girl asked if it is a threat or a request because she'll "take the blame" if it was a request. SML would have come clean and would do so if the girl was in trouble for it.
5.2. If anything, it showed that not everything should be taken on the surface level on several occasions through out and it was just a clear reminder.
Lastly, I hope they do better storylines for ML too.

EP 4 is better than EP 3 even though the teaser bluff us again like the teaser for EP 3. Here is why:
EP 4 plot were "resolve" but the ending of the plot introduces new character and story to the main plot. EP 3 just ended a plot on a light note and didn't really impact the main story (if you watch EP 4, they pretty much already got over like EP 3 didn't happen).
I HOPE they do EP 3 justice in later EPs (sensitive topic and maybe connect to ML backstory idk)

Probably the best character so far for me too. I didn't think too much of her but EP 4 made me want to see her story more.

It was such a relieve. Especially after EP3 where they tease a death before. I was taken back by EP 4 (I really thought he was coming clean) but I don't mind using a plot to introduce a new character in a different plot.
