It would be hard to match the donghua's vfx, because almost all the donghua's funding goes into making vfx, while the funding for the life action drama needs to pay for a lot of other stuffs (e.g. acting fees, supporting crews, foods & accommodations, sets, etc) and only a portion goes into vfx.
And yeah I find the Yellow Maple Valley scenes underwhelming too, even though the sceneries are real beautiful. I saw some comments saying the way they did everything in the open made them look more like cavemen than cultivators lol. But I guess the reasons being: (1) they were not permitted to build anything at the scenic sites, and (2) they don't have the budget to post process and add vfx buildings later.

Yes understand lol. In the chapter HL went back to save Yuan Yao, the author named the chapter "Without Regrets". My guess is the author chose to save her due to her royal personality.
But my regret is Yin Yue (Silvermoon) wasn't in HL's circle in the final chapter. I like Yin Yue very much too because she sacrificed a lot and fought almost to death for HL in the human realm. I guess it's because she is not human, and the author had left out all non human characters at the ending.

Seems like you like Yuan Yao a lot lol. But it's hard to do unless major alterations are made to the original story. Also her story time in the novel is a lot less than NGW, so it would be quite odd unless her stories are extended tremendously. And Yuan Yao had a very different personality, she is very royal to her friends and throughout volume 1 she was trying to save her senior Yan Li. She didn't appear in volume 2 at all till the last few chapters.

I actually like Zi Ling more than NGW, because in the novel you could really see she was in love with HL very deeply. Comparatively, her story time with HL in the novel was a lot more than NGW, and she was firmly committed towards him. She cultivated hard with only one goal which is to be with HL. In the novel when in demon realm, HL asked her to return to spiritual realm with him, but she refused. She told HL that she wanted to stay there, because the realm was more suited for her cultivation (she practiced demon techniques). She said she knew HL would eventually ascend to the immortal realm, and she wanted to cultivate hard so that she could ascend and be with him. In the immortal realm when HL had attained Zenith Heaven and getting ready to chop the 3 corpses, ZL was at his side and spent a few hundred years with him too.

Oh yes you're absolutely correct, I've taken a look and there was a wedding for HL & NGW at the Drifting Cloud Sect in chapter 1197. The story was too long and it had completely slipped my mind😂

Quite a lot had been modified/simplified, and he fell thru the cracks. E.g. the senior who was a spy from Thousand Bamboo Cult was originally called Senior Lin, but the drama changed his name to Ye Fei, not sure why.

Problem with life action drama is that the casts will grow old, so if it takes another 15 years, YY will be middle age by then, but HL is an immortal that doesn't grow old.

Hmm... couldn't recall any wedding in the novel. After HL's Nascent Soul, Mu Peiling took it on her own to lie to her clan that HL had taken her as concubine to avoid her arranged marriage, and the rumor spread like wild fire in the sect. When HL found out he was furious, but later calmed down and really took MPL as concubine, on the condition that she would practice a technique that would help him in attaining Devine Transformation. Not sure if the donghua will turn this into a wedding though. There was also a section where HL went to NGW's sect to snatch her to prevent her from another arranged marriage.

A traitor from Jiuyuan Temple in the immortal realm stole it from the temple and escaped to human realm, but dropped the artifact and was later killed. At the end of volume 2, there was a scene showing HL actually missed the item while walking through the forest, but a time travelled HL kicked it in front of the other HL lol.
The origin of the little green bottle is a very long story, basically there was a former HL (not to be confused with the time travelled HL above), whom like the current HL also cultivated the Time Dao, but the former HL lost the battle to the Time Dao Ancestor and in a last resort he focused all his Time Dao energy into the bottle. An artifact spirit was formed inside the bottle and helped the former HL travel back in time escaping the onslaught, and the former HL lost all his Time Dao power in the process. The bottle was lost during time travel and later gotten by Jiuyuan Temple. The bottle has time travel capability due to the spirit created by former HL's power.

Full donghua EP156 (S4E32) on Ani-Mi Asia where Han Li breakthrough to Nascent Soul. Five years in the making before it come to this. A major milestone for both Han Li and the donghua team. Other capabilities of the little green bottle:
1. It could be used to help improve his time technique threads (HL cultivates the Time Dao in the immortal realm).
2. It could be used to time travel! Because of this function HL could go back in time to sow the seeds that in later time he reaps the benefits (he wasn't aware at first and did it unknowingly). Thru this way he also met his Zenith Heaven master who was already fallen.
3. It could be used to absorb enemies' Dao attack (this was not apparent till near the ending of colume 2).

The little green bottle that HL found at the beginning. When he put it under the moonlight it would condense moonlight into an elixir that accelerates the growth of plants tremendously. Because of this amazing function, he could cultivate very rare spiritual plants to very old age, which he could sell for very high price, or when made into pills could help him cultivate quickly. It's actually what sets it apart from the other Xianxia novels. Rather than like other novels where the protagonists were super heroic and could beat whoever they like, Han Li was just a mere mortal working hard to become an immortal. Throughout his journey, although he was stronger than those of the same level and sometimes equal to those one level higher, when he encountered enemies that were a lot stronger he could only run for his life, and it is not unusual that if the enemy chased him relentlessly he could run for years lol. That's why the novel is named "A Record of a Mortal's Journey to Immortality".

No problem. It's simply because the teleport artifact (teleportation token to be exact) is like a key to a door and each teleportation array has it's own artifact and specific destination, and you can't teleport with the artifact alone. It must be used at its corresponding array. Some tokens could only be used once while others multiple times. So depends on where HL wants to go, he will need to use the specific array + token that's linked to that destination.
