The current ep is 158 and he will be executing his promise on Xin Ruyin's death wish for revenge soon. It's the first thing he did after Nascent Soul.

She didn't lie because she took his power, she was lying to cover up the fact that she came to his rescue.
And as already explained she didn't intentionally try to "steal" HL's power. In the novel it was written: she activated this skill before passing out, as she was expecting to be fallen to the demon sect's hand. She didn't anticipate she would be saved by HL and this event happened as a coincident. She stopped it immediately when she woke up, otherwise none of HL's power would be left (end chapter 362).
The author had chosen to write the plot this way, because HL needed to loose his power 3 times anyway.

She wasn't like that in the novel, she looked and behaved like a 19 year old girl in the novel, not like the aunty in the drama😂 Not sure if it's due to Gina Jin's acting or the modifications made by the drama team lol. In the novel when they first met she was of course showing some pride, because she was 2 levels higher. After that she did care for him and that's why she went rescuing him, but she refused to admit it lol (probably a bit of pride + shyness because she's a girl). Anyway her story time with HL was not high in the novel, highest was Yin Yue (Silvermoon) -> Zi Ling -> NGW.

According to the novel, NGW didn't do that intentionally. She passed out due to injuries, and the technique she practiced absorbed the power from any lower level that touches her at this state to heal herself automatically. Remember that she also lost her power during the blood forbidden land trail after the one night stand with HL, so practically it's even between the two. In addition, HL also needed to loose his power 3 times before he could ascend, so this would count as the first one and NGW had actually helped him indirectly.

It's an adaptation from a very very very long novel, and skipped some details at the beginning because the novel started slow, and the drama team felt that it's vital to start with an exciting story, because the success of a drama depends heavily on it's first 3 episodes. And yes this is only season 1 so the ending is open ended, although the story for the 1st few arcs is completed.

Actor Yang Yang, he suffered an injury and I saw from yesterday's news he is still recovering and might not be able to perform stunts in fighting scenes. And they want him as HL as lots of people feel he is the perfect match for the role.

In the novel the author only hinted it, but apparently in donghua they had made it so, probably because fans love the idea. Btw she goes by the name Wang Ning when HL first met her as a kid. She only changes her name to Zi Ling later, you'll find out why down the road.

It‘s very good according to Baidu (China's wiki equivalent + search engine), the premiere episode had become Youku's hottest drama premiere episode since 2024. Within 3 days the drama had top the charts on many China search engines, and by 17th Aug its viewership had broken 1 billion. According to another Taiwan news article, they had invested a total of 300 million RMB in this drama (with 200 million on vfx), and had earned 200 million just with advertising income alone, so adding membership subscriptions etc they are definitely already broken even. The director Yang Yang (not to be confused with ML, same pronunciation with different words) said they are currently in discussion for S2 and it's very probable to be given the go ahead considering S1's success.
