People giving this a low score - did they not see the most recent episodes? Great humor, great setup of premise, intrique of the real identity of each of the bottom 4, good stuff. This drama needed the time and space for setup and it is wonderful. Tis a pity if people bailed out too early!
What really gave the final episode so much power was that the acting of grief and crying was so authentic, more of the "mewling" type of cry, not fake sounding at all. All the different situations of the paired up people - being urged to move on vs grief not wanting to leave. I was completly losing it with tears.
really hoping he didn't mean the whole "dump you mercilessly" thing. although even if he didn't, it's still not…
I thought it was understood he was picking her up after the seminar. When she FINALLY discovers her phone is gone she didn’t even consider that he may have waited for her. Her whole personality is rude. Yes they both need to speak up. Why the hell did he not ask “why didn’t you answer your phone?” Ugh. So frustrating with them acting like bratty kids
This show is hard to follow being so cryptic and disjointed. I disliked it in The Trunk and annoyed even more with the first 2 episodes on this drama, as for the very first scene I had 3 different interpretations of what was going on, as he wore the same clothes every night getting off that bus.
the guy who gets the heart is married. still, I don't rate shows based on whether there is cheating or not so…
He was leaving after carrying her to her place. When she yanked him back and not let him leave, she crossed the line. He was weak and gave in. That is the point in the drama where it broke for me and became uncomfortable. Debating on whether to finish, as the 2nd FL did not deserve this.
watched the full drama and have 2 Qs. 1. why did they breakup in the first place?2. why did literally cursed each…
She wanted kids. He felt that 2 people with no parents is not a good combination, but I think the real reason is his childhood trauma of being rejected. Some then develop like an attachment syndrome, or break up or cause pain first so that nobody rejects them. He loves her but afraid of his feelings for her. I think since both conditions may have been genetic, the curse on each other was coincidental but hurtful nonetheless.
All of leads together playing drinking games, and the ML looks on wistfully, it was like the ultimate found family. As for the behavior of the ML character, those who have been traumatized like to break off relationships or hurt other people first before they get hurt. It is a common theme. Ultimately I like that some of these characters get the validation they desperately needed in the low points - the dog who is told he is a tiger, the overprotective mom told she raised her son well, the leads confession of love even in their turbulent relationship. That there was something of value in each flawed character. And the metaphor of plankton - tiny sparkles in the sea, lowest on the totem pole of live, but essential so we can have oxygen to breathe... that every creature (person) has value. It had some bits that reminded me of kind of a like a Tarantino movie with some out of sequence flashbacks, and well placed dark humor, male bonding in absurd situations.
can anyone share a playlist of all the music played in the series, including the western ones?
the album is on Apple music. I loved the soundtrack. Interesting that California Dreaming is struck me as I grew up with the song, so when I went to University of Washington, the cold gray winters made me homesick. Ironic that the song was by the Mamas and the Papas, and the leads were in search of their parent lineage, and a stable place of home.
