Title Mr. Plankton Spoiler
What I loved in episdode 10 spoiler below
All of leads together playing drinking games, and the ML looks on wistfully, it was like the ultimate found family. As for the behavior of the ML character, those who have been traumatized like to break off relationships or hurt other people first before they get hurt. It is a common theme. Ultimately I like that some of these characters get the validation they desperately needed in the low points - the dog who is told he is a tiger, the overprotective mom told she raised her son well, the leads confession of love even in their turbulent relationship. That there was something of value in each flawed character. And the metaphor of plankton - tiny sparkles in the sea, lowest on the totem pole of live, but essential so we can have oxygen to breathe... that every creature (person) has value. It had some bits that reminded me of kind of a like a Tarantino movie with some out of sequence flashbacks, and well placed dark humor, male bonding in absurd situations.

Title Mr. Plankton
can anyone share a playlist of all the music played in the series, including the western ones?
the album is on Apple music. I loved the soundtrack. Interesting that California Dreaming is struck me as I grew up with the song, so when I went to University of Washington, the cold gray winters made me homesick. Ironic that the song was by the Mamas and the Papas, and the leads were in search of their parent lineage, and a stable place of home.

idk about yall but this first episode was so good and nicely executed, the last scene got me shook 🫢 excited…
yes - the ending of the first episode gave us a lot to look forward to - the first part they have a lot to cover in terms of setup, challenges and circumstances.

Jung Eun Chae wow! Such a completely different role than Panchonko that it took me awhile to realize it was the same actress. I am loving this so far and once again my tastes aren’t in alignment with this rating system as the score is much lower than my score. I find that the contributor’s comments are like minded so I appreciate their insight

Her mother is probably the young girl we see at the very start who trained with the director. That's my guess.
Thank you. I was confused as the actress looked so similar to KTR. I probably would have eventually figured it out but grateful for your help

then there is no point in having this drama 🤣🤣
agree - The POV seems to swing back and forth - I just was trying to add a different perspective in response to the bashing of the ML character. This drama does totally suck me in with the yearning... LOL

yes there is. It is about the timing of love - how intense a first love is, the breakup, and how we are different later - would it work if they got back together? Who knows? But I am just putting in my thoughts of I would think the end game would be, which is only 2/3 complete. The acting, writing, scoring and cinematography are wonderful and I am highly interested in how it turns out. A log of people have strong feelings against Jungo but his back story is complex and deserves consideration as to the complications brought into the relationship. Well drawn characters.

Title What Comes after Love Spoiler
ML must have attachment syndrome if his mom, first girlfriend and 2nd girlfriend all dump him with no explanation. Yet everyone is down on him. He works through feelings through writing which I suppose is self directed therapy. He should find someone new, who hasn’t dumped him and get therapy for expressing feelings

where can I watch this in the US???ugh
my guess is it will be delayed like The Revenant was, so we won't see it for awhile. It is not on Hulu's list of upcoming shows for October

On Pachinko Season 2 Oct 12, 2024
Season 2 was obviously a bridge to season 3 as they lay the groundwork for the struggles past and present of immigrants struggling in a country to survive, acceptance and identity. However Apple is really cutting costs on Renewals which are based on performance and Pachinko fails to crack higher than 5th in standings of lineup. I have an uneasy feeling that season 3 won't happen as they have not committed yet. They should have filmed S 3 when doing S2 to save costs or add episodes to S2 so we aren’t hanging

Title Black Out Spoiler
I loved this movie - the plot was compelling. Finished the episodes that finally dropped on Hulu.
The part at the end is the ML could have been so bitter and vengeful. I sensed his frustration in one scene where he yells "why to people die before the tell me what I want to know" At the end they did a good job with the concept of coming to peace with the loss of not only his youth, his father, but all the friendships destroyed by greed and jelousy. His dropping of flowers in the river also helped calm my blood pressure. I also like the the "outcast" FL got justice and closure as well. I was pleased that the scene at University showed that they were rebuilding their lives and moving on.

I really loved season 2. I felt Season 1 was a great setup, and season 2 got right to the point on what was at stake, who were the players on each side and backstabbers, and a poignant love story that perfectly captured the longing and yearning of our leads. I saw the post credit clip - personally I would be fine ending after this season, but we shall see..

Why is this rated so high? The plot is a mess and it is one challenge after another for the couples often with the flimsiest setup. The maturity level is much lower than the ages of characters. I want to like this but getting frustrated

Title Pachinko Season 2 Spoiler
The jumps between the 2 generations show that no matter how accomplished or their circumsances they continue to…
I think the character of Noa will show the tragedy the internal conflict of trying to fit in yet unable to escape his heritage.
