we need some episodes showing success and growth. Would hate to have it all crammed into final 2 episodes. I love that this drama shows the power of working together - each team member brings something that helps the whole. I loved grannie talking to his mom - that her efforts are seen. I love that the cleaning ladies were called VIP's. I loved the exploration of what is most precious to each person. There was lots of good stuff in these recent episodes.
not so much for me, I just wish the FL characters didn't so much baggage to make them unlikeable, instead of not revealing until later what it is that is good about the FL. One of my earliest dramas (which makes me somewhat of a noob) is CLOY. The FL is a rich brat, but she also had spunk and charm. The ML doesn't know what to make of her at first. Granted, there is no built in history of a childhood connection, but in terms of having that trope work, it is but one example of many. JMHO, and MANY on my social media network really like this drama, so I am the outlier there. As for patience, I grew up with shows lasting many seasons over the years, so I know how to wait for things to develop, given the incentive to do so. I don't want to bash other people liking this drama or assume I know best, but in terms of preference, this is what is challenging me for this particular drama.
I normally don't mind height difference but FL is SO small looking compared to both ML and 2ML it makes her look…
I like the ML being so tall as it accentuates the comedy and dramatic moments when he bends over to look her directly in the eye. Also that someone who looks so petite has him totally flummoxed.
actually i loved the first 6 episodes... but it dropped for me now i don't know why...
As this is following a classic kdrama formula, they are in the portion called the messy middle to set up for a satisfying finale. It should get better after this - at least I hope so.
Wow - there happened to be 2 ice picks right where the chairman was sitting There happened to be one extra hidden camera with the exact perfect angle to capture the murder They happened to find a spare copy of the thumb drive with evidence even though Seong Yeong and her henchmen destroyed what was supposed to be the only copy when the brother was murdered. And finally SOMEONE resigned from her employ after sentencing at the trial. Oh, and so much more. It wasn't horrible in the way that I had such an aversion to Impossible Heir, just wished it could have been better, because the bones of the story was interesting. I think the cast did well in inhabiting their characters, but the script needed some tightening. I actually had a lot of fun watching attorney Lee.
I think an opportunity for a comedic moment would have been the housekeeper. …spoiler in reply
Would have woken up after fainting and screams leaving the house thinking the chairman was a ghost. Instead they use it as a lifeline for the professor to do more evil, in spite of all the evidence and news exposing her evil doing. In the age of not taking much to shame famous people there is more than enough to bring about her downfall. I don’t think addition of angst and tension was needed
Why do these big goons keep letting that stupid professor slap them around? They can deck her once and put us…
I made the same exact comment on Bluesky, wondering how villains get away with so much physical and psychological abuse. Also agree on plot hole of leaving house alone, let alone not changing lock’s after firing household staff
Lee Junho becomes one of the most trustworthy actors of his generation. Praying the rating hit 10% [ TRS 17.6%…
Agree - Kim Minha has been great in Pachinko (AppleTV) and Light Shop (Disney/Hulu), Way Back Love (Viki) and now Typhoon Family on Netflix. She picks good dramas and a solid actress.
Or viewers have to have patience for the story to unfold, it's obvious that something happened two years ago that…
Exactly. They make the FL so unlikeable and how her rash behavior even as a little kid is not endearing to me at all. Plus she doesn’t accept the consequences of bad decisions made when angry. Then the drama will attempt to pull on our heartstrings by making the FL character something to be pitied or saved. I had this problem with Destined With You, which a lot of people liked, but sometimes the redemptive arc is too steep for me
Let's see as the narrative will unfold. To me, the 1st episode was just a symbolic introduction. To me, I don't…
Agree that is how first episodes go, but her behavior is really boorish and now I understand there will be an explanation for that but just weary of FL characters being unlikeable and in many cases shifts to poor me, I hope they avoid that cliche
Please give me a reason to like the character of the FL. I especially dislike that anything perceived as wrong or bad luck she refuses to accept either responsibility or roll with the punches. She evaluates her interactions with ML as a zero sum game. Yes I am sure they will make her more like-able with a back story but gets concerning when dramas present FLs as so unpleasant in early episodes. I am hopeful it gets better
This drama reminds me in some ways why Study Group was so charming with the comic feel without being corny and the playful graphics. The group has charming characters that have a sincere and close knit rapport. Also this may be one of the funniest enemy to lover arc I have seen in a while. The MDL rating system is bananas.
FL character is so predictable and easily manipulated. She lost the key attributes to her character midway through the drama and is niw the weak damsel in distress. So frustrating
coerced??? he needed something from her and she needed something from him. sounds like she simply made use of…
The coerce is when is evil cousin, to secure his advantage in the company, called her and told her to charge way higher than the going rate. The ML then was challenged to secure better terms, or else. So she would only lower the rate to a standard amount charged only if he agreed to go along with her scheme. Yes, that is coersion and part of the plot. She doesn't know that they are related until she sees the ML talk to the cousin from the car just outside the new home they moved into.
