Don't blame the side characters, but put it on the scriptwriter. It is a 32-eps drama but they put a ton of stories…
They had a scene where the male lead did something sacrificial and romantic for the female lead, and right after that they had him monologue to her unconscious body about how much he loves her and would do anything for her, and after that they had the two of them confess their deep sacrificial love for each other , and after that they did a flashback of how much they love each other😐🫢😒 The love scenes are nice! I love angst!! But there has to be a reason!!! Something new has to have happened; the stakes have to go up or something. Pointlessly piling up "I won't die!I love you!" scene after scene after scene🤦♀️
My thoughts:They met at a time in his life when he was "worthless". He was ousted by his brother and blinded and…
In his mind, she was random. He didn't take her seriously and didn't offer her any sincerity and his expectations would probably only go as far having her name plate in the ancestral hall, so Yin Ning would be main madam 😉 To have someone of no value kill off your Mei Mei🤬😱
I don't like how they tried to redeem LYN's non-biological father at the end of ep 29, after what he said/did…
Because I like peace; the best I can wish him is a happy marriage with Hairu and since she is supposed to adopt Qiao's children as well, for ALL his children to love Hairu and treat him like a stepfather. In the far future when Qiao comes back, I want her to gie him air as well. He deserves to be shunned. Let everybody treat him with distant politeness, exactly like Yin Ning did. He doesn't even deserve their anger or disappointment.
unpopular thought? i want to know more of SML's backstory? i can't understand the depth of his obsession with…
My thoughts:
They met at a time in his life when he was "worthless". He was ousted by his brother and blinded and under house arrest. She came to him at that time and befriended and idolised him. They seem to be thinking about spending their lives together and I'm guessing his desire to properly provide for her spurred his decisions to side with Wnag Yuan and become a "bad man", so he could gain the status and power to give her a proper home and identity. At the time he achieved that, some random chic that thought like everybody else that he should be grateful for her lofty attention, kills his Mei Mei. He had finally crawled out of being a blind loser and she was gone!
Get angry when the MeiMei story comes up because the Yiningbecomes dumb. Why can't she stay away from the Duke?…
If she makes a scene in public, it would draw people's attention and then questions about their relationship would start. Her reputation 📉 ; His right to claim her📈
The grandmother wasn't feeling well, the mother went out to get Dr Du. 3rd brother was on his way back. The rest…
Most men don't keep up with the house news in real time. They wouldn't have known until she was dead and taken away. The 2nd Master did it quick and secretly.
lol that's what i thought. Maybe they have too many women in the family. Pls don't kill me for saying that.
It's not the volume of women. It's the lack of proper rules and discipline. The fathers are such terrible parents, you can see grandma was not a "great" parent herself. The mothers are self-serving and vicious except Hairu, who didn't use to bother about anything and anyone in the house. Because the girls are at marriageable age, normally they wouldn't be allowed to stay unattended with the boys without a chaperone or leave the house at will or open a freaking shop. But there are no rules at the Luo's🤷♀️. The system for rewards and punishment from the Madams is nonexistent.
It doesn't bother me that dad will eventually get whitewashed... because that's what always happens in the dramas…
He doesn't feel like he has ever wronged her. He feels her and her mother's existence in his life were an injustice to him, so I doubt he'll ever be able to truly feel remorse and apologise. Even now seeing Shen Yuan's success, he feels no remorse for all but wasting the boy's life. He feels some shame because they found their happiness outside of him and that makes him want to lash out at them if they give him a chance. Yin Ning being a "wild seed" was a wonderful chance. He was able to lash out at Hairu, Grandma and Yin Ning. He's gone back into his shell pretending to be nice but he can't stand them but he hates being a lone loser!
Why do the dads almost always get a free pass.- Minglan’s dad in the Story of Minglan (atleast Minglan called…
Little is expected of the dads.
I'm going to write a post about the historical cdrama dads: Story of Minglan, Love like a galaxy, The Double, Story of Kunning Palace, Melody of The Golden Age and Rise of Ning. They are either pure evil or criminally negligent.

I don't think it's "whitewashing", at least not for Yinning. She could talk to her uncle because he doesn't hate her and actually cared for her mother but the father...she had nothing to say. When she was saying goodbye to the Luos in the hall, she gave sentiments of keeping in touch with everyone else. But for her "father", the vibe is let's maintain civility as there can be nothing else. The man takes every chance to try to take her life, dignity or freedom. Because she's actually a "wild seed" that he raised she can't even complain about her upbringing.
Playing devil's advocate: Madam Chen's baby boy was dying, Madam Gu promises high and hires a "miracle doctor" but the baby dies anyway. She is grieving and instead of her husband to grieve along with her, he is writing love letters to this same promise and fail sister-in-law because she is going through a hard time... she the sister-in-law, not his wife who recently gave birth and lost her child. Madam Gu leaves after much noise and scandal and Madam Chen feels some relief but Madam Gu comes back pregnant and with what appears to be a difficult pregnancy (because she's acting all depressed and stuff). 2nd Master suddenly knows how to care about pregnant women; so Madam Chen snaps. And has the troublemaking "hussy" killed😤. Her husband is AWOL for many years and comes back only to "moon" over some Madam Gu look alike... Madam Chen's mental health fails her once again and she attempts 3 murders in succession: the look-alike, the daughter that's investigating the murder and the witness.
Like the song goes 🎵 🎶 "She had it coming, She had it coming, all along! If you had seen it, If you had been there, how could you tell me that I was wrong!!" 🎵 🎶

And then he said....
